I am very happy to see that Sony has decided to act sooner than later.
A $100 price cut is what basically everyone was talking about. Sony has come through in this regard. Good job!
Now, if can put on a strong showing at E3 by showcasing some great games: Metal Gear Solid 4 and Killzone 2 being the most important in my opinion, they will be in good shape. There is a pretty strong lineup of exclusive games coming out this Fall with the releases of Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Warhawk, Lair, and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction. Keep in mind that Tekken Dark Ressurection will be patched and playable online by the end of the year too...
There will also be plenty of third party games that will keep break the draught and keep PS3 users busy. Such games are: NCAA Football 2008, Madden 2008, Grand Theft Auto IV, Half Life 2: Orange Box, Assassins Creed, Burnout Paradise, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2008.
If Home is as good as advertised and Sony unveils some serious plans to add content to the Playstation Network, then I think the PS3 will be in good shape. Adding content to the Network and getting Home off the ground are VERY important for Sony; they desperately need an identity in the online world...
All in all, I think this is very promising news to Playstation fans. It makes the vaunted hardware somewhat more accessible to the mainstream market. What do you guys think?
