Has anyone visited their local Gamestop lately? I don't generally like to give any credit to the bias/moneybag threads... but I noticed something very interesting when I went to my local Gamestop today... they rearranged the store.

They placed all of the Wii games near the entrance, followed by PS2 games. 360 games got the next largest wall, most visible upon entry. PSP & PS3 games were towards the back. They also took down all the signs and banners except for the 360 & Wii. Lastly they did not have ANY PS3 display games behind the counter... they were all 360 exclusives and multiplats. They DIDN'T have display boxes for LBP or R2, but had display boxes for Lips, the 360 quiz game, Fable 2, & Gears 2... along w/ Fallout 3 and a couple of multiplats.

Gamestop's lack of love for Sony is becoming painfully obvious... and I can't help but think it is going to influence the purchase decisions of holiday shoppers this holiday.

I work at my local Gamestop and I am pretty much the only Sony fan from several stores. My managers recommend the XB360 to a lot of customers and I heckle them for that. There is a definite bias going on.

My local store has not been rearranged but I have noticed that they keep a very poor selection of Ps3 games and have a massive wall of 360 and Ps2 games. It seems like every time I go there looking for a multiplat title that I want to get for Ps3 I end up having to get it for xbox.

I avoid Gamestop entirely. I don't feel they've ever earned my business.

My gamestop was rearranged but they have their mixed feelings about every console. Its not hard to find any PS3 exclusive on the wall behind the counter for me either.

My Gamestop has changed... ALOT! And it is for the better. they moved where the games are. The put up a flatscreen behind the counter playing trailers of games and that crappy GamestopTV. They now have all games behind the counter. PS3, Wii and 360. All of there computers have been upgraded to nice flat screen monitors and faster connectivity. Overall, it was for the better. Now my favorite place to shop!. They also updated the TV's that play the demoes for the games

When I worked there Sony/Microsoft and Nintendo paid to have the prime space in the store. It changed from month to month. Same with games. Certain companies paid to have games displayed. I dont know if it is still the same it probaby is.

My Gamestop stores are quite the opposite. As soon as you walk in... PsP (Right Shelves) Ps3 (After PsP) Ps2 (After Ps3) Xbox / Pc (so on towards the back walls..) Wii = is in the front left as soon as you walk in.

The only problem I have is the people that work behind the counters. Everything I mention "Xbox is better..." I laugh most of time and say thanks anyway.

 u no what the funny thing about that is??????? that its not on gamestop, its how it sells and how much sony pays gamestop that determines where their stuff goes, what to advirtese and all that good stuff! so like my local Gamestop is a sony fanyboys!!! i love there, but what happens is game stop company sends them how the store should look like from the sales, so my local gamestop has good numbers in ps3,psp, and ps2 so what happens is those are the biggest section and 360 is tiny. now the poster are sent by sony, microsoft, and ninentedo (how ever u spell it) and gamestop is told how and where to be put, so its all about the green!!!

Well that explains the lack of PS3 love in some stores LOL. I think everyone with a PS3 knows SONY doesnt have to throw money at stores to sell their products. LOL Besides, if someone wants to buy a 360 over PS3 due to a store employe deserves the cheaper 360 in more ways than one.LOL

To be honest I don't buy at my local EB Games anymore due to buying a brand new game and come home to a scratched disc and booklet crumpled up. As if they sold me a used one for the same price as new. I only go there to buy an old game but that's about it.

Anyways I now purchase my games and hardware at Future shop (get a discount from friend).

Mine is the same as it has always been. Wii games to the right once you enter with DS on the other side. PS3 and PSP next to DS, 360 next to that and PC,ps2,GC,XBOX games in the back. They are advertising Socom and LBP alot in my store.

Thats because a lot of Gamestops stores did there yearly relay for the store. Its basically just moving all there games around.

Gamestop doesn't have a lack for love on Sony at all. Its the SM and employee's who have the lack of love for Sony. At my store we have an awesome wall for Ps3 games. And I recommend PS3's all the time to customers.

I was at Gamestop today. When you walk in the door, the register and display consoles are on the right, and the PS3 games are on the left first.

My local gamestop (one of 4 i'm thinking of) has Nintendo up front and to the left and right as you walk in. A little further back you have Ps2 on the right, counter on the left, xbox 360 and Ps3 are side by side in the back. The 360 clearly has more titles available than the ps3, but when I browse through them I see fewer i'm interested in than I see on the ps3 side. Granted, that hasn't got anything to do with Gamestop (I just felt like pointing that out).

The people behind the counter seem to like both the ps3 and the 360. They don't recommend one over the other and if nothing else seem to scoff at the 360.

Another one at a local mall had two employees that started a conversation with me, one had and loved his 360, and the other, a girl, had a ps3 and she loved it. Their display had ps3 up front and right, Nintendo up front and left, 360 in the back - but again it had more wall space than the Ps3.

Seems they're giving every system a fair shake at Gamestop around here. I have no complaints. They seem like a good group.

What ever happened to the game stores of Babages and Electronics Boutique. I feel as though they disappeared overnight. Doh!

Well i noticed that they moved the games last time i went and put $ on my fallout 3 pre-order and it was way messed up all the games were in the way back next 2 the 360 and the Wii and ds has the entire East wall(where the ps3/ps2/psp games were) but my friend that i see at the skatepark works there says that the only reason that any of them didn't buy a ps3 is because they don't get paid enough $. I thought that was kinda funny :)

Believe me, I wouldn't make it up! I pre-ordered Gears 2, Resistance 2, & LBP... so I'm not anti-360 or anything... I just found it REALLY REALLY shocking. I mean, Sony has at least 5 exclusives coming out b/w this month and next, 2 of them are pretty huge, and this gamestop did not have ANY display boxes for these games cooming soon, it was just kind of weird to me... I know some employees are fanboys, and that's understandable... but I've never seen an entire store leaning to one side like that before!

It's cool to hear that all of them are not like that though... that's the only reason I made this thread, to find out was it a trend amongst all the stores. It probably has to do with the managers or something then. Now, to their credit, they do have all 3 kiosks (for each system) at the front of the store. I'm not a big fan of Wii, but I'd like to see all 3 consoles do well this holiday... it's good for the industry... Just don't like to see a good console not get a fair shake though. As an owner of both consoles, over 75% of my gaming dollars are going to Sony this holiday... and I hope consumers get to see what a stellar line up they have.

My friend is the General Manager of my local Gamestop. He told me that Microsoft pays Gamestop money for doing that. So all Gamestop's were supposedly required to re-arrange their stores like that.

They did a reset at the store I go and they put the PS3 games all the way on the very back wall. However as far as being biased towards one system or another, they don't really seem to be. The general manager there, who I got to be friends with after shopping there for a while, is a SEGA fan as am I. They've got a few people in there who have 360s, PS3s, Wiis, whatever.

I would believe that if they were doing it at all the stores, but apparently that is not the case.

I recently went to one of my local gamestops and found it quite nice

3 times actually, once to preorder Warhammer, once to pick it up and most recently to preorder LBP. The first two times don't really count since I talked to the guys about computer games and MMO's in general.

The last time I was in I talked to 2 of them that owned a PS3 and one I know had a 360 as well. He talked about being strapped for cash because of buying games for both.

The PS3 games also filled up the shelves behind the counter instead of being in one of the cramped shelves in the middle or along the outter wall. Seemed like a nice setup and the clerks didn't seem to be biased, though like others I've had experiance where they pushed 360 harder than the rest.
