Your opinion on PS Plus?

Whether you have it or not, what do you think of it?

As someone who has it, I'd say it serves as a great supplement to the games you're already playing. Nothing more.

I also question SCEA's choice of games in comparison to SCEE. I figure its due to licensing issues or something.

In any case, I'd say PS Plus is worth the money.

Please, no comparisons to Live. There is none.

I got a free 30 day Plus subcription with Journey CE and I've been waiting to use it.

So far it's been 4 weeks and nothing offered by the Plus service has caught my eye.

The games you can download and play while you have a subscription are okay but personally I'm more interested in discounted games that I can keep when my subscription expires and so far, it's been disappointing.

I'll give Sony credit though for keeping the online free.

Most of the games offered I have already played so in that regard I don't really benefit too much. Where I do enjoy PS+ for mostly is the ability to use Cloud Service (1GB of saves games data) and various PSN games discounts.

If you have the money, it's worth it. Half the time the free games are crap, but some are easy trophies. The other half of the time the games are worth playing. For example, the new Double Dragon is free right now, and so is Scott Pilgrim. Good multiplayer brawlers. RE5 Gold Edition is also free. If I hadn't played it before, it would have been a nice treat. Bioshock 2 is also free, and I'm playing through it right now. Both those games were 60 dollars at one point and got great reviews.

I used to avoid PS+, I was subscribing to another consoles online service and I didn't want any more annual fees.

However, Sony's free trial won me over for life. Now I love PS+.

Honestly I'm disappointed in the game selection, at least here in North America. There was a group of good games released when they started the whole Instant Game Collection thing around E3. Since then it's mostly crappy games, or games that have been around so long that pretty much everyone interested in them already owns them (Borderlands, Bioshock 2, etc).

However for $50 a year, even if you find 2 or 3 good games it's worth it.

It's not something I could use. If I spend $10 a year on PSN, it's a miracle. Others might get more out of it, but for my needs it's pretty pointless. No insult to Plus Members implied or intended. Just not my cuppa.

It's the fastest way to explain how it works. It's not free per se, definitely, but that's a long sentence to type out.

Also, PS+ other benefits include Free DLC (You keep even after), Free Themes (You keep even after), Free Avatars (You keep even after), and of course my personal favorite huge discounts on games. I got so many deals on games from RE4 HD to Scott Pilgrim to Joe Danger to Marvel Vs. Capcom to Street Fighter to Mortal Kombat to Braid to Limbo to Trine 1/2 to Pacman to Risk to Tetris...and many other games I was going to buy anyways, at a sweet discount 50%-$75 or more. Crazy deals. It's up there with Steam at times.

The "Free" games are an added bonus for me. Those are hit or miss. Some are excellent and I would play, some are Excellent but not my cup of tea, some are excellent but I already own them, and others are kind of bunk. Those gems that I waited a long time for that release for free, those moments are awesome.

Checking out what's free in PSN has become a tradition now, just to grab anything I missed.

It's funny, I avoided the service at one point. I have a ton of PC DD games, XBLA DD games, Wiiware DD games, and some PSN games. Now, I wait on deals before buying any DD games.

I check for deals every week, and this is true. I have all the machines, so I'm always shopping for the best deals.

The service costs a set ammount of money per time period, your not paying for the games. The games are free, and are a perk of having the service

Bioshock was a great game. The sequel is definitly worth a free play. Not to mention SSFIV is one of the best fighting games this gen.

its a good membership to have if you always get discounts on games and get free ones. but since i'm not planning to upgrade the hdd for the ps3 then its probably not for me

I think it's a great service; though it's heartbreaking when games get added and you already own them. It makes you not want to buy anything in fear of it eventually becoming free on PS+

Iv never subbed to ps+ mainly because all those free games are not free once your sub runs out they are useless. Your paying 50 bucks a year to play old games. Get some discounts and have free trials. I guess if you can afford it its fine but i don't think ill be getting it anytime soon.

I'm not talking about BioShock. But in that respect, I already played it, beat it got the platinum. I'm not at all interested in playing it again. Giving away a game that everyone (except frat boys, apparently) has played doesn't interest me and isn't worth my time.

I don't give a rat's ass about fighting games, and that other game Rochard or whatever the hell it's called doesn't appeal to me either. Ergo, they suck to me. Just an opinion that you may or may not agree with. Excuse me.

Waste of money IMO. Most of the "free" games can be bought for under $20, and they won't ever be taken away.

i don't think its that worth it (as i've had it when it first came out for over 12 months), overall with the exception of a few betas, i'm not really into the discounts, but then again, its not for everyone

SFIV Arcade version was just put up.

Not very good. Sure you get lots of free games, but by the time they become free it's 2 years later and you've either played it or got it.

PS plus is worth it. Very happy to have it. lot of free games an discounts. I have play games that I probably wouldn't buy and enjoyed them. It has open my game play up to enjoy other types of games

Can you find discounted annual PS+ cards like Xbox Live?

It seems the going rate for an annual subscription to Xbox Live is around $35-$40; no one pays $59.99.

Yet I was told that PS+ annual memberships never get discounted and there aren't really cards specifically for it. They are just gift cards for the Playstation Network that you can apply to the annual membership fee, and these gift cards never get discounted.
