I personally don't give a rats ass about rumble, but a lot of people seem to disagree with me. Why do you or don't you like rumble?

Any one that says they don't like it is kidding themselves to feel better about the PS3. I mean, why would anyone not like something that improves your immersion in a game?

Personal choice.

I will enjoy it since I like rumble, those who don't, well no need to have it then.

It's a option :)

Ooooh wow! I just got shot in the head and my hand is rumbling! I really feel the IMMERSION.Haha, to be honest with you, I feel rumble (although cool sometimes) can also be annoying. 99% of thetime when you are caught up in agame you tend to forget the rumble is even happening.I remember when I bought the Wavebird wireless controllers for my Gamecube I wasn't sitting there lamenting because it didn't have rumble. In fact, I realized that wireless controllers with rumble can get annoying because for one rumble DRAINS the battery life. I can go on a single charge of one of my PS3 or Gamecube Wavebird controllers for months. So yeah, for those who like rumble, congrats you're getting it, and for the rest of us wanting to "feel better about our PS3", we can just stick with what we have...

Other thandriving games, I don't think rumble adds much to the gameplay. I will not get the the new DS3.

Hate it. Especially in FPS and Madden. It adds nothing to the game and seems inappropriate really. In football when someone hits you, it doesn't feel like a calm vibration. And in FPS it makes you less accurate. I always turned it off on my PS2 when I could. If they could make it like really powerful or more in line with what was actually going on in the game it could be fun.

And to everyone who like me dislikes rumble: how do you feel about it when it is the directional rumble that is (might be?) coming? I personally don't give a rat's ass about that as well, although I would like to try it out for a definitive opinion. Resistance's way of showing from which side you're hit which is similar to that in other games, works fine though. I can't come up with any application of directional rumble which would IMO really add to a game. I just don't really care about it.

Touchsense will own, critics that have already been given some hands on time with the technology state that it issomething that can actually change your gaming experience. I really hope Sony accepts Immersion's invitation to add it to the Dualshock 3.

Most of the time my sub woofer does a better job of making me rumble than a controller ever has _BUT_ some games need rumble.  Virtua Tennis for example you aim your serve/shots with the controller but there is no rumble feedback to let you know if you are too close or over the line.  Some games need rumble!

Im glad we will have the option in the future. I think in some games it adds to the experiance. But its only a option so if you dont care for rumble then it dont matter.

well rumble is nice cause when your in a war game you can feel the vibration from the guns or explosions, or when you accelorate on a car and etc.. but honestly ive been playing without the rumble on the ps3, and i think its just as good ^_^ the sixaxis is fun beyon compair. since i have 2 normal ps3 controllers when the rumble one comes out, ill buy 2 rumbles that way ill have 2 normal and 2 rumbles. best of both worlds ^^d

i don't care about the rumble feature too, the way i see is that it will drain the batteries much faster than the regular controller.

I once played God of War on my PS3, and from the moment it started something didn't feel right..i didn't feel like i was playing GOD OF WAR! and then i realised my controller wasn't shaking and i was terribly missing it. The feeling that you'd get when you slash a guy to death just wasn't there...So i decided I NEED RUMBLE or i won't play a PS2 game EVER again. Thankfully Sony listened and its coming back and i feel great about it!

Its a step in the right direction but they should have released it this holiday season. Sounds like to me Sony is looking to dominate 2008 holiday season.

I think it will take a lot of the pressure off of developers to implement the tilt function in an extrememly innovative way. With vibration attached, the tilt can be a gimmick and be used minor in games. I think ultimately this will mean that we will start seeing more brilliant uses for the tilt.

Haha ok a couple more things, in baseball game, rumble is horrible. Why? because when you're aiming your pitches, the guy you're playing against can HEAR when you're outside the strike zone (if you're playing in the same room anyway.) Makes the game not fun to play with friends. Also, no, it does not feel like firing a gun, it feels like a $5 hand massasger you'd buy at sharper image.

It was okay on the PS2...don't miss it on the PS3...and definetly not buying another controller just so it can vibrate when I'm being shot at in Warhawk!!! I have two controllers and don't plan on buying a third...

I dont think its something I need, but Sony has cater to the people who do want it. We are all different.
