Your opinions of LBP..

Hey guys, I kinda just decided to buy little big planet almost as an impulse buy. It didnt cost me that much, and when I looked at the videos of it I thought it was really cool and i love the graphics. So whats your views on the gameplay and what not? Thanks,

super fun with a few friends on the couch, as a straight up platformer its pretty good, but the real enjoyment for me at least is the level editor, tonight I built a replica of my dads tractor and then my bf built working steam engine (no motor bolts!)

it is indeed the ultimate lego kit.

im not even gonna talk about the water update thats coming :p

It's lame. The only thing to do is jump, pull/push, and collect stickers. The appeal wore off after 5 minutes for me.

It's a good game if you're inclined towards that kinda thing.

I love LBP. So much fun to play with my sister and her boyfriend over PSN.... also a great game by yourself. Very creative design and originality along with terrific gameplay.

I thought I was really going to like it, but came away disappointed. Barely lasted a week for me, core gameplay is just boring. Very overrated if you ask me. Flame_Blade88

The game isn't any different if the sackperson is wearing a helmet or just not wearing anything at all. It adds nothing to the gameplay. Really, all it is is a dress-up game with a level editor.neo_starwind

I just made a thread about this game...... I was actually the same way at first. I bought the game and played the levels that came with the game and was not impressed and was thinking of trading in the game asap, BUT then I used the level editor and was blown away and played some levels online from other people and loved it. You have to try everything and it should impress....if not then you have no patience or imagination to create or enjoy this gem.

I enjoyed it when I first got it but I got quite bored of rather quickly after going through the main levels I haven't really created any levels I'm too busy with other stuff. I guess I would like it more if I could find some people to play it online with usually when I've found someone I'm kicked from the game then I never find anyone for ages. But I do like some of the creations people have made especially this Olympic themed stage I came across it was fun and impressive but some pointless stages like just having photos in a stage and nothing else which is just dull. As much as I like platformers though I've played better like DKC which will always be my favorite. But LBP is fun playing it everyone now and then.

And what RPGs are you playing that changing a characters appearance doesn't change anything? All the RPGs I've played, if you change a weapon, armor, skill, whatever, your stats go up or down, thus, affecting gameplay. So clearly you don't know what you're talking about.

Whoa! thanks for all the responses lol :). Well, to be honest i was expecting the majority to say its a decent game, but its a mixed bag of comments...well too late now i bought it! I have 2 say, i thought it looked childish, but with all the levels u can download, and being able to create levels sounds awesome, would be great if i can find other people who play it when i get it ^^. Im hoping i havent wasted £16, but then again i wanted to try something new instead of just playing shooting and racing games xD

First off, I didn't expect costumes to do anything and I don't know where you're getting that from,neo_starwind

This leads me to believe that you expected the costumes to change the game and alter the gameplay. lol

LBP is just jumping and pulling and putting on a silly hat on the sackboy. That's it.neo_starwind

It's annoying how you have to do story mode in order to make a good level, because I made a new PSN account and lost all my data

It's just pure fun. While games like KZ2 and Uncharted 2 are great, i find LBP just more fun

absolutely amazing game. the single player is awesome (i love collecting all the items and trying to beat each level without dying) and the multiplayer is phenemenol. there areA LOT ofreally good user created levels online, and it seems like people just keep pumping them out. creating levels is a blast too, it's just tough at the beginning.

I thought the game was great fun, the online is awsome, especially with a couple of friends by your side. It let's your imagination run loose. Fantastic game indeed, i reccomend it to anyone who owns a PS3 ;)

I thought it was fun at first but it got boring pretty quick for me. I may give the game another shot someday but I don't plan on going back to it anytime soon.

Creating is fun but to make something great takes quite a while, but can be fun.

User levels are great.
Overall its just a good game for everyone.

A break from all thekilling in shooters and monsters in hack n slash games.

It's the best strait up platformer thats been released in a long time. I really wish I had time to play it more often, but I have too many games vyingfor my time right now.

Thanks guys, and cheers Laxer 04 i'll add you soon when i get back on the ps3, but i dont have littlebigplanet yet im waiting 4 it to come through the mail :P. Downloading the demo now actually, so i'll see how it goes. You guys are right though, i wanted a break from playing the same old games, and something fresh instead ^^.

I like it. It's unique, upbeat, and has a ton of heart. A worthwhile buy for those who do not have it already, methinks.

Its a good game but it might get boring for some. I wish it had some deathmatch or booby trap aspects. I got bored of running through peoples levels collecting those orbs.
