Ive been wondering what people think about this game. Ive been mulling over whether to buy it or not. Ive heard some people say it's awesome, and some people talk about how insanely easy it is, the combat sucks, and there is not enough combat.

What do you think about this game? I can get it for 35.00 on Amazon. Im either going to get PoP or Bioshock (had it on 360, but I have not played it in over a year, and Im getting the itch to play it again).

What is your opinion on PoP?

I haven't played it much (just an hour or so at a buddehs house) but i really think its great, love the "never die" mechanic, it works well with the platforming. Difficulty isn't any sort of challenge or anything but i don't play games for difficulty.. the combat does take a backseat to the platforming though, i would have preferred a redone Sands of Time trilogy combat system... for 35 bucks a i say yay..

Ive played like 3 hours of PoP and it is very fun but already its starting to get a little old... maybe its just cause for the last 45 minutes of it its been really slow or if if it actually is getting boring but i would rather play BioShock. Its a great game and ive only played the Demo and ive played the Demo 3 times probably going back to my 4 tommorow.

I got it for Christmas. Unfortunately, it's a little disappointing. On one hand, its visually a treat to play. But on the other hand, it's far too simplistic in nature to keep you coming back (even if only to finish it). So.... I'd say it's a renter, but for 35 bucks I suppose it might be worth it. Depends on what you want to get out of it.

I liked it very much, but sadly it hasn't got great replay value.

the "cannot die" mechanism is just to improve the storytelling so that you're not frustrated to die and do half the level again to maybe die again ...

It requires observation, cunning, and synchronisation ; most of all the graphics and management of good/evil (you do the level twice, first dark and gloomy then full of life and flowers)

This.

I totally agree with what you said about the "cannot die" feature.

And IMO, the easier the game the more fun it is.

I think it's a high quality game with some interesting platform elements, level design, art style, and storytelling. However, I would call it a rental over a buy. If you really like it, you can always purchase it later, but it's definitely not for everyone. It's basically a combination of Assassin's Creed, Okami, and Shadow of the Colossus, but pales in comparison to the aforementioned (with the possible exception of AC).

i thought the game was alright.. i haven't beaten it yet because i turned off auto-save (saves in dumb places, better off just turning it off so you're not relying on it), and when i went to go manual save it froze... so i had to turn off the system which corrupted the data, and i am reluctant to start over again...

I personally loved the game. The only is there's not much replay value after you beat the game, except for those light seeds and trophies. Trying to find all 1001 light seeds isn't really that hard either but the boss battles are pretty epic in my opinion. It's basically a platformer version of Okami that is much shorter and less interesting story. Not to mention the ending was nearly as good as Okami's, I was like COME ON!

I played it for a while and have gotten so bored of it that I find it nearly impossible to finish. It LOOKS great but the gameplay is just so very, very bland that it's simply not fun.

I love it, i don't care what people say about the art style ubisoft chose to do this game in. Its very artistic in my opinion. Gameplay wise is very fun. a must have for PoP fans.
