How would you guys feel if Outbreak was re-done for the PS3? Maybe even just as a PSN title. Episodic, even. Each one has three scenarios?

I've been wanting Resident Evil to go back to it's cIassic roots again, and I think bringing this series of RE games to the PS3 would be great for that.

One of the only things I'd change is the virus gauge. Not taking it out completely, but changing how it works. Instead of you starting with the gauge rising, I think it should only activate once you're attacked by a monster that can transfer the T-Virus and rise from there, or in certain scenarios, it's activated upon start (Below Freezing Point comes to mind)

But that game was not good...

It was a great concept but I felt it was executed very badly. I think if they took the Outbreak idea and made a strictly online game, possibly download only, that would be better than porting a fairly mediocre title IMO.

I disagree. I found Outbreak very enjoyable.

But I wasn't talking about porting the same game. Just bringing the series (I.E., new scenarios) and tweaking it a little bit.

I should have made that clear, my bad.

I don't know. I personally did not like any of the "branch off" games for Resident Evil. Outbreak, Code Veronica, that silly shooter, and so on. I do not think it would get much support and I'm a hugh fan of the series.

have you even played an Outbreak game? the Move would not work for the Outbreak games at all. the shooting is not over the shoulder like RE5, it more like the original RE games.

I think Outbreak was just a victim of it's time. Online play wasnt something that was heavily supported by sony at that time and I dont remember the online community for outbreak being that big. If released today, i think it would be very successful.

A total reboot might work. Personally since the shooting was revamped in RE4 I have had no interest in replaying the old games, and they are linked to some of my fondest gaming memories.

Like I said, Sheena Island. It was basically Raccoon City 2.0.

I'm going to have to disagree.

Zero and Code Veronica were my personal two favorite Resident Evil games which adhered to the original formula. It might not have had a number added to its name, but it was a full-fledged Resident Evil game which surpassed its predecessors in many ways.

they did bring it to the PS3 when the PS3 had BC, but then everyone bought PS3s despite lack of BC, if only we'd of held our ground together we'd still have RE Outbreak playable on a PS3

Ahem , they were great games arguably not the best but if there was something in which they outpeformed the others was the very definition of 'survival' , and if you played the game you know what I mean , too lazy to explain all over again.

On topic I'd be one very happy guy if that happened , though I'd prefer it in disc , since my 320gb is now reduced to 40.

I agree with you, but Code Veronica on dreamcast I really did enjoy. Personally, I don't like the fast paced changes they've made to the series. I'd love to see RE1 remade, a lot can be done to bring it to today's expectations too. Maybe a bit more frequent encounters of 2-3 zombies less resources, etc. That game could produce wonders with today's tech, regardless of platform. My two cents anyway :) lol

Code Veronica wasn't technically a branch off title. It was actually considered the direct sequel/continuation to Resident Evil 2, since RE3 had little to nothing to do with the events of RE2. If you don't like it because it doesn't have a number in it's title that's your opinion, but considering it plays exactly like 1-3 and it's story is so involving and important to the universe I don't understand how you can consider it a branch off title. Replace CV with Gaiden and I'll agree with you.

TC - I actually like the concept of Outbreak and certain things, like the Zoo section (that was in the second one, I think) were pretty interesting additions. If they changed some things up and made it a more fluid title it could definitely work. I actually want a RE reboot (love the series, but the story has gone down hill with the last installments and it's become stale to me), and since multiplayer is added into virtually everything, why not have a single player campaign and add in a multiplayer Outbreak component?

Not the case. I do not like or dislike games because of numbers or the name in the title. Get a grip man. This is a little rediculous. If I was that concerned about numbers, then lets just call Code Veronica RE 2.5. Everyone has their opinion of what they like and do not like. All I stated was I did not really care for Code Veronica and the others. Does not mean others do not like them.Like I said previously, I'm a big fan of the whole series, I have palyed them all, andifanyone out there says that Capcom has never put out a bad Resident Evil title then they are more of a fanboy than I am.

Outbreak with RE 4's gameplay could make it work, it jst really depends if it would make sense to put out an outbreak game for Capcom.

That'd be on hell of a game , cause the atmosphere of the outbreak RE's and the survival feeling were the best in those games IMO.It was really immersive , put co op on it and I throw my RE5 Gold edition on the trash bin lol.

If rightly advertised it would make a lot of sense to make it , at least to their pockets.Unofrtunately ,deep inside, I know that'll never happen. "/

All I'm saying is that CV wasn't technically an offshoot game. Outbreak, the shooters, Gaiden, were all spinoffs as they were significantly different but pretty much nothing was different in CV and the story was the biggest leap in the franchise. My "number in it's title" line was strictly sarcasm, which I need to stop using because it's impossible to convey tone on the internet. Not liking CV is your opinion, not about to ask you to change it. Oh, I completely agree that if anyone says Capcom has never put out a bad RE title then they've apparently never played Survivor or Gaiden...

Lol. I understand completely. I'm never angry, mad, or upset when I make posts or reply to them, I just write what I am thinking.(There are more important things in life.) But then after I post something and read it I say to myself "I hope they don't take/read that the wrong way or think I'm argueing with them." Usually they do, so I know where you are coming from. You cannot display tone or emotion in an email or post.

Second game loaded significantly quicker.

If you had the HDD for the first game, it was also very quick.
