I still have farily alot of ps3 games to play >_>
but atm
Uncharted 2 -Amazing story, great characters- beautiful enviorment/visuals - long lasting appeal/gameplay - great multiplayer- doesn't seem to get old
Metal gear solid 4 - Amazing/touching story- great gameplay- cutscenes- playing as snake :P - love the camo suit and other misc stuff
Resistance 2 - Epic boss battels :P- action packed shooter- great mutliplayer community- love the weapons - although the campaign gets a tad boring the more you replay
BioShock
Fallout 3
inFamous
They all made me play tons of hours a day without realizing how much time had passed.
I have too many games to play yet... couldn't possibly make a FIRM call, but my favorite ones so far have been -
1. "CoD World at War" which is outstanding both as a single and also online MP game. The graphics are awe-inspiring with lighting effects and other little touches which make it my shooter of choice bar-NONE. The online community is a (for the most part) light-hearted, fun loving folks who're more into having a laugh while playing than talking trash.
2. "IL*2 Strumovik: Birds of Prey", phenominal WWII aerial combat game with a huge variety of planes and mission types, but what I love it for, past it's technical achievement of simulating the hornet nest of WWII dogfights, is the "Realistic" and "Simulator" difficulty settings which really allow me to put my skills to the test. Most other games like "Blazing Angels" are arcade-like action games that never really challenge me because I've been playing flight games since they started coming out (and yes, I fart dust I'm so old so I've played 'em all), but none of them come to the precision required to even keep your plane in the air on "IL*2" Simulator settings, let-alone drop another fighter from the sky. Play it, if you have patience, skills, and/or BOTH.
3. "Heavy Rain" is probably not everyone's game, but I thought it was amazing at developing a tension factor rarely accomplished in other games. I played "Indigo Prophecy" so I was pretty much standing in line for this title. You need to be into it... if you're not into this type of adventure, skip it. But if you like a good thriller which oyu actually feel THRILL from, this is your meal.
comparing cod W@W to MW which do you think is better in game play? still people playing in the lobbyies in W@W? thinking of getting itI have too many games to play yet... couldn't possibly make a FIRM call, but my favorite ones so far have been -

MonkeySpot
1. Oblivion GOTY- I could play this game multiple times and not get bored. I love the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood quest lines.
2. MGS4- One of the best told stories in any game, stealth mixed with huge gunfights, and who doesn't love controllingRex vs Ray?
3. Final Fantasy 13- Still don't care what anyone says, I love the battle system, the story and the characters.
mgs4-epically amazing single player experience
uncharted 2-epically amazing and im still playing the online
killzone 2- very atmospheric and real. plus the online is a ton of fun
Hmm the top two is easy, but picking a third is really hard :P.
1) MGS4 - best story in a video game ever. Amazing scenes aswell to accompany this. One of the best series ever.
2) Uncharted 2 - Movie like epic action, beautiful graphics, great story if a little cliche, and a blast to play with a wondeful MP.
3) God of War III/Red Dead Redemption/Uncharted/Littlebig Planet
I think if I had to choose one it would be GoWIII but I really cannot say which would take 3rd right now. And obviously I have not played EVERY great game out yet, but I don't think any of the ones out right now would change my mind.
Demon's Souls - I could talk all day about this game, i love the combat. Love how the online works. I just love this game.
Blur - I am extremely surprised this game is on the list, but i haven't played a racing game non-stop like this since mario kart 64 or perhaps gt3. It is extremely addictive and something i find myself playing 2 hours daily.
It's a toss up for the 3rd spot perhaps one of the uncharted games or rfom or civ rev or well a bunch of titles.
They are just fun games, maybe not for everyone but for me.
This is a lot easier to do then the Xbox 360 topic.
1. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - My reason for buying a PS3 in the first place (Got the 80gb Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle)
2. Battlefield: Bad Company 2 - The Online Multiplayer is phonomenal and my most played game online.
3. God of War 3 - Another reason why I would get a PS3. This game is amazing and arguably the best in the trilogy.
@ Tsuanthony:
Q: Are the servers still full on "CoD WaW"?
A: Absolutely. On off hours lately there are 16,000-17,000 people playing various modes, and it swells to about 32,000 and some change on peak and weekends... gameplay is rock-solid, perks and unlocks are very much in the vein of MW/MW2 (I just Level-Capped, and you can choose to give up all your unlocks, perks, etc. to roll into "Prestige" mode, where you unlock other stuff as well as unlocking/ earning everything a second time - pretty cool). The weapons and vehicles are very well-balanced in my opinion and the maps are really well laid out. It rarely feels cheap or boring and because it's not the biggest FPS on the block the chill-factor of the community is at a nice bubble.
Very much worth the cash, I got my copy new for $20. Oh, and the solo campaign is very cool, full of trophies and challengingscenarios, the story is, well, HISTORY... so it's pretty cool to know and get a perspective on...
... and there's NAZI ZOMBIE MODE, man! Offline and online play for that, five maps think? Always easy to find a game of Zombies, Co-Op Competitive Campaign, or strait-up team matches of all the usual flavors (CTF, DM, TDM, DOM, Ground War, and interesting hybrid and Hardcore versions of same)...
It's the quiet little shooter on the block that most people are missing out on by following the other, "bigger" games like social lemmings... c'mon aboard!
:D
1- Demon's Souls : it's THE game i've put the most hours on, it deserves my #1 spot.
2- inFamous : I love this game, can't wait for the second one.
3- Pixeljunk Monsters : me and a friend of mine.. god we played so much !!
1. White Knight Chronicles. Loved the singler player, online play was even better. Many hrs into it, overall best RPG I've played on PS3 to date.
2. Prince of Persia (2008 ). First game I played in the series, and I'm hooked. Addictive gameplay and already doing a 2nd playthrough.
3. 3D Dot Game Heroes. My all time favourite game is The Legend of Zelda (NES)... what else can I say? :)
MGS4 - full blown hardcore epicness especially the end when it is all tieds togheter
socom confrontation- until socom 4 comes out that will replace this
killzone 2 - this game blew me away online lag free and epic
3. GOW3: I love hack 'n slash and the final game in the trilogy is a blast to play, plus I wanted to know how the story ends and didn't disappoint as far as Im concerned.
2. Valkyria Chronicles: Bought it a month ago, just about to complete it and I have to say WHY DIDNT I BUY THIS GAME EARLIER?! Slow paced but oh so satisfying.
1: MGS4: Reason for my existence and why I bought a PS3. Re-playing it again and all the win feelings are coming back, it's just the best conclusion to a franchise ever with superb everything!
- Heavy Rain - It was awesome
- Valkyria Chronicles - It was awesome
- Resonance of Fate - It's awesome
yokofox33
So only Resonance of Fate has stood the test of time? :o
:P
3. Assassin's Creed 2 - Recently finished playing it and it has become one of my favorite games of all time. I adore the characters, storyline, and style of gameplay. It just clicked with me.
2. Metal Gear Solid 4 - This was the very first game I got for my PS3. After I finished it I took a heavy sigh and thought "Well damn. Now I won't buy anything that will ever top this." until...
1. Uncharted 2 - I've always been a huge Indiana Jones fan. That type of adventuring is awesome to me to the point where I even enjoyed the mediocre National Treasure movies just because they were so much fun. Uncharted 2 created a world that, in my opinion, topped Indiana Jones and became quite the memorable and timeless adventure tale. Plus, great multiplayer to boot.
1.Uncharted 2: Improved gameplay mechanics excellent story and solid online play.
2.Metal Gear Solid 4: Good story and excellent gameplay
3.Super Street Fighter 4: Good with friends and a good balance and solid character roster.
1. Metal Gear Solid 4 - The reason I bought my Playstation 3 years ago, amazing story and awesome gameplay.
2. Demon's Souls - This is one addictive RPG. Yea it's hard at the beginning but you totally get used to it after overcoming the first boss.
3. Uncharted 2 - Amazing visuals, smooth gameplay, great story! All the essentials of a great game.
These three games are must-haves for any Ps3 owner :)
If ur talking just exclusives then :
Uncharted 2 - epic
MGS4 - that freakin snake
Killzone 2 - cuz it's awesome :P
1. Dead Space - Best game I've ever played. It had a deeply engrossing story split up by edge-of-your-seat, and truly terrifying gameplay. Loved it! :D
2. Bioshock 2-Experiencing the chilling world of Rapture again was just an all round pleasure. Level design is the best I've witnessed, and it improved on the gameplay in Bioshock in every way :)
3. Bioshock - Raptureis quite simply the most intriguing, disturbing and chilling fictional world ever created, and has lots of innovative gameplay concepts, and a brilliant storytwist that sent chills down my spine.
