Youtube TV app...awful

Ya I know, watch on a computer. I would but mine broke and cant afford a new one. Just been using the PS3 browser for basic surfing. Yup Im using the PS3 to write this.

This new Youtube app is terrible. The biggest problem is the typing. Why couldnt they just let you use the virtual keyboard? Is there a way to use basic/normal Youtube on here, like before?

Really? Everytime I try too, by going through a normal Google result, it just takes me to the app download screen. Not the PS Store but the one with red button.

in the browser , press [select] and enter http://www.youtube.com manually , confirm and it should load the version you are used to , it works for me

Try to access Youtube XL, and click "View standard version." I watch youtube all the time on my PS3, but I had the homepage bookmarked before the app was released.

I wonder why your gaming console is doing a terrible job expected of a personal computer.

... Just watched it some more. EVERYONE gets the crap kicked out of them - The people in the back, everyone up-front, no one gets out of it without taking at least one to the dome and getting knocked unconscious. The girl in the middle actually gets a face-full of leather seat THREE times... And that wave that comes over the side and gives the girl another *WHAP*, sends her flying ... The 'rag-doll physics' are quite impressive...

... It truly IS the "GIF that keeps on giving".

theres an option there somewhere that lets you switch to the standard youtube page, dont remember where it is.

While the app is far from perfect, it is far better than using that slow as hell internet browser. The videos load quicker and they look better.JudgementEden

I agree about the youtube app for PS3 ... it is also brutal, but in a way that doesn't make me giggle ... only cry.

I don't see why the keyboard is so terrible, why they didn't use the keyboard that is used for every single other thing on PS3.

the only real problem i have is the HORRIBLE search engine...they ought to be ashamed of themselves for this garbage...

but i do like most and look for what i need on computer then later go to ps3...

It hasn't been released in Europe yet but I did manage to download it from my US account and it's rubbish. The BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport apps work better then the Youtube app. I've gone back to using Youtube XLon my PS3 internet browser since I don't have any problems with it.

Well I like it. I do agree that the search function could be better.
