Us Amerikanskis come out of this pretty much unscathed, and HDMI cables aren't that expensive. I have an SDTV anyways, so I can't really complain too much.

Video Games are a media, therefore protected under freedom of speech (not that it applies, but it'd be made to apply, somehow) , and in america, what the people want the people get. by providing a seperate tax, you are inhibiting game sales, and ultimately hurting a billion dollar industry., it won't work.
I've done reports on this topic before, and there are hundreds of politicians who are misinformed and only see things like 50 Cent and GTA. They try and they have been trying for a long time now.
As long as the PS3 is coming, it doesn't matter, all in all because even though with 400,000 units (US and Canada Launch) the PS3 Will sell out no doubt. Even with No HDMI cables, you can still get the great images that Sony has promised on a standard tv. It will dominate Next-Gen.
