I've always done in-person but I might look into mail-in voting.

I did receive a mail-in ballot, not sure if I'm gonna use it tho. I might just go vote in person. I think it's early enough that I'd be fine. And you can check the status of your ballot online to make sure it has been counted.

Early in person. There's never anyone at the polling place when I go anyway.

Not voting. Green card. You don't want me to. Even though I've lived here over half my life.

I'll be working on figuring out early voting myself, in Kentucky you can vote as early as October 13th if the location allows. Sadly Trumps ratfucking of the USPS means I can't have faith in that system but I also don't want to worry about a big lineup on the 3rd.

In person and early. I was the only person at the polls when I voted a couple of weeks in advance for the primary, and I doubt there will be more than a handful of people if I do that again for the general.

Last election and last midterms, I did mail in. Convenient. Able to research and make decisions, something my wife and I do together even though we're typically complete opposites in terms of politics. Makes for a good drinking discussion/debate.

Each time I drop off the ballots though, no one confirms them or checks the signatures or anything. Pretty silly and open to fraud/exploitation. Ballot harvesting silliness.

And then watch them say there was a lot of mail in ballot fraud too because those signatures don't line up, when in reality it's because the method used to sign was different. I've never been able to write the same on those plastic pads with a plastic stylus, it looks nothing like my real signature.

Yup.

Not american, but I vote in person. There is a voting booth not too far from where I live and the queues are very short, despite extremely high voter turnout (87%).

If there is another pandemic. I might consider voting by mail. But we wont have another general election until 2022.

Are you aware that voting by mail in ballot has signatures being compared to determine whether the ballot is valid? That seems OK, but the signatures they are comparing them to are the awkward ones you give at the DMV with those plastic stylus signing on an electronic pad. The signatures you are putting on the ballot are pen to paper in a comfortable position. They're never going to look the same. Some states will give you a chance to correct your signature, but some won't and you'll have to contact them. To correct it you'll be able to send another ballot but it seems like a big runaround because how will it ever line up?

And then watch them say there was a lot of mail in ballot fraud too because those signatures don't line up, when in reality it's because the method used to sign was different. I've never been able to write the same on those plastic pads with a plastic stylus, it looks nothing like my real signature.

So what you are saying, is on election day you should probably go down to a polling station to confirm they've received and confirmed your ballot. And if they didn't (possibly due to an issue such as this) then just vote in person?

they will. girl.

you straw man commen in the OG post.

anyhow

i was un able to do early voting in my area due to a few factors.

i will be getting mail in/abeset

due to i live in a small town. i know who runs said polling office.(second in command does all the work)

but also the people in this town at-least 25% will believes in what ever social media tells them.
are covid testing here..... 2 hours per day and at 9 am to 11 am. no other time.

my guess when voting has been done. i will see a spick in cases in my town.

@eoten: You have to look up how you can find out in your state, I don't even know if they will be able to verify live at the polling location.

So if they cannot confirm your ballot was even received, and the last day to vote is upon you, do you vote in person or pray and hope you don't get fucked by the system?
