Not sure why the right likes non friendly nations spreading misinformation but there it is.
That's easy to answer. The largest attempts were in aid of the GOP.

Until it's not. Same with trying to overturn an election. Set a precedent and it might bite you in the ass.
@LJS9502_basic: that's as stupid as pretending people don't like the Patriot act because GOP are terrorists. It's such stupid reasoning.
Make some sense once in awhile.
I think a lot of the attitudes come from kneejerk reactions and defending them even long after they are proven wrong.
The freedom to spread misinformation is very much a part of free speech, but sadly this free speech is a very distorted version of its real self. In many cases I see free speech also mean freedom of being called out on it, or even the freedom to force private social media companies to host your garbage.
I remember before Trump was banned, and Trump's messages were Marked by twitter themselves to be disinformation, people were whining about free speech, even as Trump was allowed to keep his messages up.
Meanwhile actual free speech issues continue to get ignored. Just yesterday, a journalist in Palestine was assassinated by what seems to be an IDF sniper. In the USA hundreds, if not thousands of books are being banned and removed from libraries, and in Poland people are burning books.
In the end, I think their defense of freedom of speech is less about the principle and more a shield for accountability when they are wrong. When Donald Trump's tweets were branded as disinformation, they whined. When Ivermectin was proven beyond a doubt, to be fake, SargentD immediately attempted to deflect the conversation, and now this.
They dont care about freedom of speech, they just dont want to put up with being wrong. And freedom of speech is the perfect shield for that "Ok, I am wrong, and my lies have strong negative consequences, but it is my god given right to be wrong".

This isn't the patriot act. Gonna fix your OP or just gonna' keep this fake thread up?
Concerns of potential falsehoods told by some of the chosen heads might be valid, but your entire premise is fake.
You do you. But since I had my hands on horgen's laptop a defense attorney will eat you alive on the stand. Enjoy!
lol, very bizarre.
This answers a lot of my questions about law enforcement TBH. You cannot put horgen on trial for a laptop that had other people involved in it. Sure if it was taken from his home. But that is different than myself walking up to you and handing it to you.
Now, before I dissect this, Is this based on your personal expertise or on the regurgitation from an article you can't link too? Lol

Thread still ongoing. :)
Feel free to explain what your basis comes from.
Edit: As I expected, crickets. lol
@zaryia: this isn't even a partisan issue.
I would hope both people on the right or left would be against the federal government creating a federal bureau that sole purpose is to moderate our social media and to decide what's misinformation.
After "weapons of mass destruction" how can you give these fuckers so much power. How can you put some much faith in these people?? You will regret supporting this. I guarantee it comes back to bite all of us in the ass.
I'll talk to you later about this more. I've got to get some work done and then picking up my mother in law from the airport.. ughhh

They have been doing this for 10 years. They aren't censoring or moderating. This isn't abnormal lol. You're making most of this up.

I would have sided with you on this had it been about moderating online content. However, all evidence presented indicates it isn't.
And I know the pain. Even though this is a tuesday, I have already put in over 50 hours (close to 60) of work this week.
