CBS (edited to remove the copy-paste, but added the video from YouTube)

In summary: $100 billion dollars from tithings, shell corporations, and a mall (which I've stepped into many times, only shopped there for food if I'm at a convention)

The more I see this get covered, the closer to vindication I feel. And is why we need to tax mega churches like the LDS Church, the Catholic church, and whatever the hell Joel Osteen runs.

Also, Deseret News has a whole lot of damage control on the situation. It's a laugh

Not very Christ-like, are they? Religion is a business. Always has been, and it always will be. Only the gullible believe the magic nonsense. The others profit from them.

Saw this on YouTube earlier. This is not surprising in the least. Nor is it surprising that their 17 million-ish (doubt that number is right) member will turn a blind eye to this.

And that that attention would be potentially damaging. And after the meeting I went and confronted him. "What do you mean potentially damaging?" And he said "Dave, we are gonna lose our tax-exempt status." I knew in that moment that I was in the wrong place.

Tax them.

It's clear that tax exempt status is a corrupting influence. If they're truly religious, they should be glad to be rid of the temptation. If they're not, they shouldn't have the status anyway.

Tax them. Starting now, but also retroactively. Take that 100 billion down to about, oh idunno....20?

Tax the rich, or eat them. I don't care but do one or the other...or both.

In the future, let's not copy and paste a wall of text. Use important tidbits to convey the messaging and draw your thoughts from there.

@mrbojangles25: But if you tax them, they might leave.

Pretty much. Belief and spirituality is one thing. Religion, business side can f off. Tax them all, churches, synagogues, mosques.
