@mattbbpl: Let me guess... you're not American either?
@Maroxad: Well, you gave him a much higher benefit of the doubt than I would have, but it's time to cut your losses. He's kicked you out of his self imposed echo chamber, and there's little else to do other than let him wallow in his own ignorance. No need to feel bad about it, it's his choice.
Yeah.
Honestly, I think he just wants to live in his echo chamber, and my foreign nationality was a perfect excuse to throw me out. He kinda reminds me of Steven Crowder from about 6 days ago. I wonder if he is a fan.
@Maroxad: ... You're not even American and you're trying to act like you understand anything that has to do with America?
You now have zero credibility with anything concerning American politics.
But he read some stuff online about America, so that makes him an expert on the matter. Imagine if Europeans spent half as much time on their own politics.
@LJS9502_basic: Don't worry... you have zero credibility with me as well.
Well you know what they say about a guilty conscious....

From being in this forum, I've found many many Europeans are better educated on our government/politics than many many many Americans. So there's that.
@eoten: But we do...
I don't believe I have made a single thread about American (US) Politics. But I have made one about local, Chilean, French and Israeli politics. Most political threads here just happen to be US centric.
Nice try though. I know you are desperate for gotchas.

All i've seen you people do is parrot media talking points. You haven't lived here to see any of what you opine about first hand and there's certainly a lot to be known and understood that you couldn't possibly know when all you have available is a carefully filtered set of source material. Ffs, Horgen didn't even know Democrats gerrymandered to a very high degree and in fact, it's where the name "gerrymander" even comes from. There are just some things you're never going to know, understand, or experience by reading them online.
For example, Have you ever lived in a "black" or "hispanic" neighborhood before to get first hand knowledge on what goes on? I've lived in both and unlike your country, or the internet, the neighborhood I am in now is very diverse, and I've also lived in some that were 95% Mexican, and of that 95%, a good majority were NOT here legally. These are just things you only read about from the outside looking in going on sources that are very much politically skewed.
@eoten: What the hell does your obsession with race have to do with this topic?
I really don't care much about idpol. This topic is about maintaining the viability of your elections.
I find it really telling how me, a foreigner, cares more about the viability of your elections than you, Eoten seem to do. Your own democracy.
Edit: Also, Horgen did demonstrate against your shallow take in that other topic. Why is it so difficult for you guys to stay on topic.
@eoten: Going by overall data and statistics also goes far above personal anecdotes and feelings. Even in that neighbourhood anecdote of yours, due to its extremely small sample size, it was most likely extremely prone to bias. Or your personal caveman line of thinking kicked in, completely dilluting the results, resulting you to percieve things as much higher than they really were.
Honesty means looking at the whole picture. You have never shown any real evidence for anything. And often handwave the evidence people like Zaryia keep throwing at you. These aren't talking points. This is what actual reality says.

Sadly a common tactic when your stance is backing the less popular choices and got next to nothing to back up your statement with without sounding like a racist or similar, is trying to change the topic. Derail it.
@zaryia: Dude what? What alternate reality do you live in? All of CA is decimated. People are leaving in droves.
And even then, in it's "decimated" status, it has a higher qol/hdi than most red areas. That just goes to show how messed up GOP ran places are.
Also I was speaking averages.

Funny how people are leaving Cali in droves to move to these "messed up GOP ran places".
Actually, it's quite predictable. When people are looking for a place to live, they don't look at stupid shit like QOL/HDI ratings. They look at how affordable places are, what the tax rates are like, how easily they can get a job or run their business. Whether or not there are degenerates and homeless on every street corner.

They do look at those facts. The things you listed are part of QOL/HDI, so you're random remarks don't make sense. Not everyone moved out of Blue areas and not everyone moved to Red areas. I'm talking averages.
Also migration patterns doesn't always mean a place is better/worse to live for most of the people who didn't migrate. Blue areas are better to live on average going by facts. All while funding leecher Red states.
@zaryia: So am I. The average Cali expat has moved to the South, Montana, or Idaho. Some have moved to Colorado or Oregon, but the average has moved to a red area.

I'm talking about average HDI/QOl. Blue areas are better to live on average. That doesn't mean some Blue areas won't have people leaving. Surely some are going to Red States that are funded by Blue States.
Overall Eoten's post was dumb.
P.S. You weren't able to find any study as to why these Georgia laws were needed, correct?

That is why people and companies are fleeing bule states for red states. The federal government to bail out the blue states not the red states for their bad mismanagement.
Department of Justice sues Georgia over voting law | TheHill
The Department of Justice is suing the state of Georgia over its controversial new law imposing a number of restrictions on voting, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced Friday.
"Today, the Department of Justice is suing the state of Georgia," Garland said. “Our complaint alleges that recent changes to Georgia's election laws were enacted with the purpose of denying or abridging the right of Black Georgians to vote on account of their race or color, in violation of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act.”
The Georgia law, S.B. 202, passed in March along party lines in the span of just a few hours, imposes restrictions that voting rights groups say will fall most heavily on minorities: It sets new voter ID requirements for absentee ballots, limits drop boxes and even bars passing out food and water to those waiting in line to vote.
In general I'm confused about this GOP strategy. Why not just get better ideas so more turn out for you instead of trying to reduce turnout of your opposition?
Funny how the DOJ is going after Georgia when the voting laws in Delaware are more restrictive.

Not everyone in every blue area is fleeing. On average blue areas are better.
Also, Blue States fund the leecher Red States.

No, Delaware doesn’t specifically prohibit food or water at the polls like Georgia - The Washington Post
But Delaware’s law is not nearly as specific as other state laws. There is certainly no mention of food or water as a possible bribe. (We should also note that Delaware prohibits electioneering within 50 feet of the voting facility, compared to 150 feet in Georgia.)
Meanwhile, Delaware makes no mention of food or water — just “compensation, inducement or reward.” Perhaps that could be interpreted as food or water. But that’s not the same law.

Your post is quite dumb as well. Blue states are losing a lot of people to the point where they are losing seats in the house.
The fact that blue states send more money to Washington doesn't mean a damn thing when it comes to running their own state. In that regard, most blue states are absolute crap due to promises they can't keep. That's when people start moving away.
P.S. You don't "need" studies or news articles to change the law LOL. That's not how democracy works. Republican and independent voters in Georgia voiced their concerns and their representatives took action.

Stating facts is dumb now. Why am I not surprised an extreme far right Trumper said this.
In that regard, most blue states are absolute crap due to promises they can't keep.
And even with that fact, they are still on average better than Red States with the very site you used (lol) and that's all while they fund Red States. Sad. God knows how shittier they would be without Blue funding,

Straw-man argument. My request for a study wasn't for legality. My request for a study was to show you they are political bullshit and not logical, and for me to know for a fact you know they are bullshit. I knew you wouldn't be able to produce any data as to why these laws are needed.
I wanted to show you that your position is the wrong one, objectively. I'm not a Georgia politician, I can't control whether it becomes a law or not.
I'm aware several low IQ Georgians have concerns based off of Trump's lie, but having concerns based on a lie doesn't mean something is legitimate.
@zaryia: When the left lives in a vastly different universe from reality, how do we prevent a bloody civil war?
A universe where the election wasn't rigged, Trump botched Covid-19, climate change is real, the economy does better under Dems, and Blue areas are better to live on average?
@Telekill: So you're finding the very worst of people and reaching with their words, then applying it everyone on the 'left'. What's to stop me from doing this with republicans by pointing at David Duke?
Why are the conservatives here so easy to beat.

The statute also doesn't specifically mention sexual-favors either. New headline for the Wapo! The bribery statute is a "general intent" offense, and not a specific offense crime--which is hilarious to see the WaPo use "perhaps" in a "fact check." Yes, a prosecutor could easily establish a case of electioneering by activist groups hanging out by polling stations giving free items such as consumable goods.
@girlusocrazy: I think there needs to be a peaceful divorce of the country. The democrats have done an incredible job of dividing this nation. So well in fact that we aren't what most would consider the UNITED States. We're simply America now.
Self awareness isn't a thing with you is it?
@LJS9502_basic: Ironic coming from you.
You were spreading division in your post. I haven't done that. But you do it a lot here.
@Telekill: The Republicans have done a great job of dividing the country and tricking people like you into thinking that the dems did it. The country shouldn’t be broken up because you don’t want to work with anybody.
@girlusocrazy: I think there needs to be a peaceful divorce of the country. The democrats have done an incredible job of dividing this nation. So well in fact that we aren't what most would consider the UNITED States. We're simply America now.
That makes no sense. Families would be split up. And democracies exist to help people with differences find common ground, establish a standard of living that is beneficial to all alike, and to act for the common good. There will always be disagreements and differences. The best part of the country is that we can coexist and maintain basic rights and freedoms and advance our quality of life despite that.
There isn't much common ground left. The US is being divided, by design, by those who would benefit the most from weakening it. Telling blacks that all their problems are because of white people, telling gays all their problems exist because of Christians, telling women that they're oppressed by men, it's going to create division, naturally. It's creating a new proletariat and bourgeoisie, and it'd be naive to believe it's not being done on purpose.
I've been following politics since the early 1990s. The 1992 general election is the first election I've played close attention to back when schools actually seemed to care about teaching critical thinking, civics, etc. I would say the US, politically, has come a very long way since then, and it hasn't been in a good direction. If we're not already over the precipice, we're teetering on the edge of no return. There's a good chance the country as you know it will be nothing more than a memory you can tell your grandchildren.
@xdude85: The guy is a Tim Pool fan, so he is clearly insane. xD
Tim Pool obsesses with the idea of a civil war. Talks about it nonstop, failing to realize that the likelyhood of the US reaching a civil war is extremely low. The last time the US went to a civil war, it was due to slavery. Which had significant repercussions on the economy and way of life. CRT doesn't.
@eoten: That doesn't cause division, it causes disagreements, which we've always had. Among family, among friends, among colleagues, in our relationships, it's featured in our literature and entertainment, it's something we learn to live with as mature adults. Love thy neighbor.
Keep telling a portion of the population that all their problems are the results of another portion of the population, it creates division. The Bolsheviks did this for that reason, and so did the Nazis. It will absolutely split families apart and is already doing so across the US. We've already seen billions of dollars in damages, and countless people killed already surrounding the divisive rhetoric of BLM. Do you happen to know how many cops are being ambushed and murdered for the crime of being a police officer? You don't think a whole summer of pushing the false narrative that blacks are oppressed has anything to do with the sudden spike in crime, and a lot of it directed towards police?
As of June, it's been 37 so far this year in case you are wondering, which is a 40% increase this year alone. 37 men and women who will not be going home to their families because of divisive, hate-fueled anti-cop BS from far left propagandists.
The divisionary bullshit is already getting people killed, and it's rhetoric like that that has been the root cause and the people pushing that rhetoric know damn well what they are doing, and they're only getting started.

Both sides do this, for decades now. Welcome to modern politics.
But it strongly sounds like you're describing Trump/Trumpers constantly complaining about everyone else. Like how the election was rigged or the Covid nonsense, pitting large portions of people against others based off of fiction is no good.
The divisionary bullshit is already getting people killed, and it's rhetoric like that that has been the root cause and the people pushing that rhetoric know damn well what they are doing, and they're only getting started.

Right wing right divisionary bullshit on Covid 19 got far more people killed. Right wing climate denial will get even more killed than that. Most anti-masking and anti-vacc hesitancy was and still is on the right. They also have turned elections into a mockery due to the far right Election lie.
