Argue against everything.

So I should bobble head along side you, start calling people I don't like a fascist, then whine whenever someone calls me out on the dishonesty and disinformation that actually entails? You people really cannot stand it when someone disagrees with your ridiculous comments and statements. Maybe you'll accuse me of being a fascist next.

Stop saying ridiculous shit and I'll stop arguing against it. Sound fair?

No but you should argue in good faith and not throw mis/disinformation around.

Rather bizarre to be upset over someone discussing things in a political forum. Living rent free though.

I actually agree with this.

Trump is a pathological liar, narcissist, and egoist.

But you can't really classify him into any political characterization because he has no coherent policy, no obvious set of principles other than everything is about him, and everything is made up off the cuff and subject to immediate revision if he doesn't like the media playback.

He's like a 3 year old in perpetual tantrum. That feeds well into an authoritarian narrative, but it is doubtful that he can spell authoritarian let alone fascist.

The fact that he panders to fascists and wannabees is nothing more than convenience and his desire for idolatry from whomever will give it to him. That could be some QAnon loser or Kim Jong-un.

In a slightly altered time and circumstance he could have run as a Democrat. Earlier in life there was speculation that he might do just that. But a man with nothing but ego, picks and chooses based solely upon the opportunity path...which in his space/time continuum was a relatively open field on the Republican side.

Interesting point. Tell me what you think of this: I always thought if Trump didn't have snakes around him, that sack of shit McConnel in the senate, Twitter didn't exist, and if he just didn't say all the things he says, I actually think he may have been decent by most metrics - even as a democrat (as he was a lifelong one.)

And what exactly was your point? I don't think anyone here, unless you're speaking personally, is getting upset over discussions. There are actors here in bad faith who argue even against their own links.

That it's bizarre to be bothered (enough to bring specific attention to one user) by someone "arguing about everything" in a forum designed to do just that. How do you figure what is what isn't against someone's "own links" (also, what?)? Again, it's usually best to address the content, not the who.

Another other logical conclusion is a veiled shallow attempt at trolling a user. But I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt, but perhaps I'm off base there?

You are. It's a bit much when you have to scroll through quote chains that all say the same thing and you know there is no resolution to be had.

That is true, especially since the term has lost a lot of its weight over the years by the oversaturation.

A bit much for... what, exactly? Mentally exhausting, challenging? Or just upset by the content? Either way, there are a few options available to you. I'll gladly address them for you:

  1. Excessively long quote chains, or inappropriate content should be reported to moderators so they can be addressed,
  2. You are not obligated to participate in discussions, you can actually chose to ignore posts/posters,
  3. Remember that in especially challenging times, you can click on that red X at the top right of the screen (or alt-f4),
  4. As always, you can disagree without being disagreeable; when content is focused on WHO instead of the WHAT, the issues comes to be.

You still have to scroll dude even if you're not part of that specific conversation.

Oh yes, indeed, can be pretty demanding scrolling on the interwebs; especially having to use a touch screen, scroll bar, or the middle mouse button.

Trump back in the 2000's ran as a centrist, and has even been a member of the democratic party. He has been flip flopping between the parties right until around Obama.

I do believe he always held the Throw Mud at a wall and see what sticks philosophy.

The success of his Anti Obama ranting probably solidified his position as the kind of politician(?) he is today. He loves the clout, and the bombastic person sure gave him a lot of it. I have to agree calling Trump a fascist is a massive stretch, since I doubt he really believed any of it. Unlike Le Pen, who still doesnt go far enough (para-fascist still works well though).

That's a lot of ifs :)

I did have a modicum of hope during the Republican primaries that he would drop the act/rhetoric once becoming the nominee. I also was supportive of his infrastructure focus which was a central plank.

Sadly he never even tried on infrastructure.

And it is clear that his ego does not accommodate advice. That becomes a toxic mix when you surround yourself mostly with sycophants and losers and ignore the few competent people.

Seriously, examine the revolving door of trash and trolls he surrounded himself with and combine that with his ego and narcissism. His administration was destined to be an epic cluster fcuk from day one.

@sonic_spark: Trump was a great president. Best one in my lifetime (the bar was low) would have been better if Mitch McConnell would retire and go away.

McConnell sucks butt. Hopefully he retires before Trump comes back in 2024. America First

France kind of sucks now. Maybe Le Pen will do better than Macron. I wish the best for the French either way.
