Good job "sleepy" Joe Biden. Even if he's "sleepy", he's still a much more competent commander-in-chief than Trump ever was. By contrast, just a week in office Trump tried conducting a vanity raid (to one-up Obama) on Al Qaeda leadership in Yemen that didn't even kill the target, ended up killing over a dozen women and children, and resulted in the death of a Navy SEAL.
I am curious how they had a drone there. The military is gone. Pakistan wouldn't have allowed it, or quietly thwarted it by warning him and/or Taliban. Iran wouldn't have allowed it. Russia likely wouldn't let its airspace be used, and doubt Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, nor China would allow it.
I definitely prefer strategic raids, precision strikes, and the use of special operations and good intelligence to all-out war.
Hope this is how we resolve a lot of our military problems in the future. Now we just have to get our cybersecurity/warfare updated and better than China and Russia.
Glad he's dead. Not exactly convinced that Biden had all that much to do with it. Pretty sure they informed him, and he said "oh no, Tony Almeida is dead? Well, I hope Jack Bauer avenges him!"

God, I had almost forgot about that. But I remember it clearly now.
Then there was the time he dropped the MOAB (mother of all bombs) on that one target when the military had told him it was pointless.

I will never forget it. This is the raid that among the children killed, also included an 8 year old american girl.
Of all the things Trump should be charged with, that should be near the top.
Could turn up to be a huge mistake. Al-Qaeda has done nothing under Al-Zawahiri. The organization has become irrelevant and ISIS took it's place. Now this can open a door to someone younger, more charismatic, more driven and more aggressive who will think that it's time for a new big attack to make Al-Qaeda great again.

lol, we can't even post a news story about killing a terrorist without resorting to tribalism.
@Stevo_the_gamer: "lol, we can't even post a news story about killing a terrorist without resorting to tribalism."
Tribalism is more of a pathetic quality when it compels people to defend the indefensible. If someone were to be salty by the contrast I made, that sentiment stems from their own tribalism.
Doubtful. Weren’t some of the previous leaders (including this guy), highly educated and trained and simply haven’t been replaced by competent people?
@lamprey263: lol! it's been a minute since I've seen a variation of the "I know you are but what am I." Much like fanboyism in SW, it's not reserved for only one myopic ave. Although, it's a hilarious way to view tribalism so thanks for that.

LOL thanks for the irony Stevo.
What's ironic? :)
Rain on your wedding day.
Boy I'm just full of myself today 😋Sorry, I'm so ashamed😣 I'll show myself out...
No, but I guess to contribute something serious to the discussion...I suppose you're right. By all accounts, this was a bad, bad, bad dude. If Bin Laden was the face of 9/11, this guy was the brain, so I've read. Would be nice to enjoy this, on both sides. A sort of "Game recognizes game" moment, maybe.
But at the same time, Biden needs all the victories he can get and Trump was pretty bad from a military perspective, so I suppose comparisons are going to happen in this just as they do everywhere else.
Hopefully some day we will have a series of presidents on both sides that were competent enough we can start comparing their good qualities instead of making desperate attempts to say "We aren't like the last guy, see!? SEE!?"

Dogma such a good movie though, so point for that!

Wtf are you blabbering about? His withdrawal in Afghanistan was an absolute shitshow. Dozens of Americans were killed and millions of dollars in weapons were left there. You are delusional at this point.

You do know those weapons had been given to the Afghanistan military right? The withdrawal could have been handled a bit better BUT Americans over there had been told for several months to leave and choice to stay. Actions equal consequences. trump set the timeline which they did delay a bit. trump set Taliban leaders free. Perhaps if their leaders were still in custody things would have happened more smoothly. War has casualties. You can do your best to minimize them but they're still happening. It's good that we're out. THAT is what is important.
@LJS9502_basic: the other part of Trump's negotiations with Taliban (which excluded the Afghan government) was that there were conditions to the timetable that US withdrawal was supposed to be contingent upon, like Taliban ordered not to attack US and Afghan military and civilian targets during the withdrawal phase, something the Taliban continued to violate but the Trump administration still pressed on with the timetable regardless, they continued to set prisoners free and withdraw forces, rather than stagger the withdrawal to the agreed upon milestones.
All in all, I think they did a great job getting US military out safely under the circumstances. The real blunder from how I see it was the failure to get Afghan civilians and people who worked with US military (and rheir families) out of the country sooner.
Who should take blame? Well, Trump at the time was insistently taking credit for it saying he started the withdrawal and there was nothing Biden could have done to stop it. If he wants to own it and the consequences, then I say let him.

The military that surrendered? It wasn't theirs anymore. No way in hell that shit would have got left under Trump nor should it have. Trump set the timeline.as long as they followed certain procedures which they didn't do once he left office.
Biden gave Afghanistan to the Taliban and is now allowing them to run the country. On no planet is his handling of Afghanistan a win for his administration. My biggest issue is if they build back up and start attacking the west again.

Trump's the reason for the majority of the problems. Trump gave Afghanistan to the Taliban. He agreed to leave, didn't take any Americans or allies out though, and released Taliban leaders.

You are absolutely delusional on this. I've come to realize that fanatics are incapable of seeing reality though. So continue to live in your own.

Funny I was thinking that about you. When we switch presidents we don't magically also get a reset. Biden was under the agreement trump made.

Funny, I thought the US revamped its entire economical system each time a president from the other party was elected. Isn't US socialist/communist economy now because Biden is president?
