I don't see it as a surprise or a double standard. I mean, this is the same party that had a Klan member in congress as recently as 2012. Who wrote and defended Jim Crow laws. Who just elected a man known for fighting against school integration with comments like "I don't want my children to go to school in a racial jungle." You know, the one who said "poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids."

You have to give citation specifically showing a majority of Southern Conservative Democrats didn't become Southern Conservative Republicans between 1900-2012. Because all known data shows this happened. You have to show this did not happen with studies (no, not blogs).

The KKK is currently a right wing group that supported the GOP. They once supported Democrats. This is because of the factual historic party switch in the South. The platforms/parties switched in the areas the KKK were in. These far right conservatives groups remained conservatives, however. Regardless of the party name.

That would suck, minority rule (Elder's possible 20% and Newsome's possible 50% vote in terms of population) is horrific.
