This is actually pretty massive news. Barr edited Mueller's report big time! Apparently some of the most important findings were not redacted as Mueller wrote them. Mueller reached out to Barr, as he objects to the report, especially about Russian collusion.

I know, Mueller is usually really quiet and doesn't like to go on the news, but did he seriously have to wait this long?

As expected. The actual report made Barr out to be a liar when compared with all of his statements.

The question on Obstruction is still out there (strong evidence) as that was not decided, but some don't think a sitting president can't be indicted anyway. Many legal experts agree if he wasn't President and that same evidence was presented for anyone else they would be in the slammer.

Obstruction is still not decided. Criminal Collusion was debunked (although there was still unethical collusion and willingness). Russian Interference to help Trump was 100% confirmed.

Neither of the 3 look good for Trump either way.

So this is look at the Mueller report from a guy who does a lot of deep dives into the history of various people and was a conflict journalist who actively worked in war zones. This is a podcast all about what he found from the report after reading through it and taking 30 some odd pages of notes. Also he's entertaining. Highly recommend listening to it.

@zaryia: So, foreign entities always try to influence international elections. The US does it, Canada, UK, etc etc. The CBC in Canada (Liberal government funded media) practically campaigned for Hillary in the US. Where’s that scandal in the news? This is nothing new. It’s been proven that Trump had nothing to do with coercion with Russia and that’s the end of it. It was a made up story (Steel Dossier) from the start and the Democrats tried to make it true in order to oust a president from a competing party. This doesn’t worry you more than Trump? It should.

@Sevenizz: all my other neighbors had their houses broken into and their money stolen.

Why get mad when it happens to me?

Just curious. Is/was Mueller in any position to state that Trump was guilty of anything?

A Justice Department spokesperson told The Times that Mueller did not believe anything in Barr's letter "was inaccurate or misleading. But he expressed frustration over the lack of context and the resulting media coverage regarding the special counsel's obstruction analysis."

"Dear Attorney General Barr:

I previously sent you a letter dated March 25, 2019, that enclosed the introduction and executive summary for each volume of the Special Counsel's report marked with redactions to remove any information that potentially could be protected by Federal Rule of Criminal Procedure that concerned declination decisions; or that related to a charged case. We also had marked an additional two sentences for review and have now confirmed that these sentences can be released publicly.

Accordingly, the enclosed documents are in a form that can be released to the public consistent with legal requirements and Department policies. I am requesting that you provide these materials to Congress and authorize their public release at this time.

As we stated in our meeting of March 5 and reiterated to the Department early in the afternoon of March 24, the introductions and executive summaries of our two-volume report accurately summarize this Offices work and conclusions. The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Offices work and conclusions. We communicated that concern to the Department on the morning of March 25. There is new public confusion about critical aSpects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations. See Department of Justice, Press Release (May 17, 2017).

While we understand that the Department is reviewing the full report to determine what is appropriate for public release process that our Office is working with you to complete that process need not delay release of the enclosed materials. Release at this time would alleviate the misunderstandings that have arisen and would answer congressional and public questions about the nature and outcome of our investigation. It would also accord with the standard for public release of notifications to Congress cited in your letter. See 28 C.F.R. 609(c) ('the Attorney General may determine that public release' of congressional notifications 'would be in the public interest').

Sincerely yours,

Robert S. Mueller III Special Counsel"

https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/01/politics/mueller-letter-to-barr/index.html

In summation, Mueller flat out says Barr's summary ignored his summary material and mislead the public and congress, whether it was deliberate or not (but let's be real, it was).

@Vaasman: “The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
