Pence broke the tie and now all it needs is Trump's signature.

We will now see states have the ability to stop funding Planned Parenthood.

Considering that 75% of all Planned Parenthood's services are things that people do to themselves I'm glad to see it go.

All we need now is Roe vs Wade overturned

Yes, I specifically asked that Planned Parenthood could be defunded so I could make this thread.

It has nothing to do with the fact that it's existence is disgusting and I'm happy to see taxpayer money no longer go to something that does things that are mostly 100% user error.

Nope, not at all.

70% of statistics are made up on the spot, fun fact of the day.

Still not buying any of this is real -- but I'll just leave you with this very informative article.

Oh, and TC, how do you do your own STD check?

You just linked the same numbers I gave you (I swear to Christ does anyone who opposes me read the links before they send them or is it just google, find key words, paste?)

I have a doctor. Also sex isn't a right, it's a privilege, there's consequences to sex and if you can't afford things like STD checks or a baby then you have no place having sex.

Absolutely. His act is pretty tiresome and the whole point of trolling is NOT to be so blatantly obvious.

Also willing to bet OP strikes out constantly with women and has no girlfriend. 99% of the time that is why males dislike feminism and stuff like women's health.

Forget for just a moment which side of the fence you sit on in regards to this organization. The "outrage" is what happens when you continually make more and more people dependent on the government for particular services and what not.

Yeah, better they just die than get care. Typical conservative mantra, declare that the poor are 'addicted' to services, like it's a f*cking body afflicting addiction.

Yes. We should spread the wealth around so everyone has the same and then they can all afford health care. Good idea.

How does it feel some 3rd world dumpster trash sitting in the basement of the Kremlin wearing a mustard stained track-suit was easily able to mold your mind (and likely everyone in your county/family) like some braindead sheep?

It must feel awful.

Leaving it up to the states only means that the blue states will keep funding them and the red states that think the only thing Planned Parenthood does is abortions will cut them off, screwing people that need, but cannot afford their services over in those states.

Hey TC the good news is that with less places for people to turn to that offer affordable healthcare options the amount of calls you recieve at the suicide hotline place you work at is bound to go up. More work for you in the future is good for you right?

What's kind interesting is that the people who will be most affected, are the rural communities in largely red states where Planned Parenthood is the only provider of primary care. But hey, I guess they are the ones who voted for Trump.

You're just making it equally shitty for everyone. Making everybody poor isn't "wealth". It might appear that way to the poor though.

@n64dd: His comment was tongue in cheek, I believe, highlighting the fact that current income trends makes such domestic programs more important and disastrous to cut.

If people insist on demonizing and cutting these programs, then the current income trends can't remain. Hell, they're unsustainable as they are anyway.

Scientific studies have proven that abstinence can lead to various conditions including depression. Your right-wing Sharia politics are in-congruent with the modern reality. Then again, I'm not sure what else to expect from the political spectral range that gave us a 6,000 year old Earth and thinks a 25 million year old coral reef bleaching is just another day on our flat planet.

But hey, maybe one day you will be sitting down with your daughter who got raped in college and you can explain to her why you think it's better for her to abandon her education to be a walking breeding chamber rather than a doctor or a lawyer.

Once again, conservatives are showing that they are essentially an unholy mix of of the worst parts of regressive SJWs (easily offended, trying to force others to their way of thinking, bullying, etc) and archaic, outdated sharia-esque law (forcing religious beliefs on others).

@deeliman: If it doesn't fit on a bumper sticker and/or requires more than a moment's thought, it's "too long."

That was about as concise as I could make it. If that's too long, he is incapable of processing the concept.

people are going to ---- and be irresponsible. that's a fact.

either we all pay a little now to help those people be less responsible or we all pay a lot more later to deal with the repercussions of their irresponsibility.

pick one.

oh well.

just more reason to believe that blue states will be the best places to live. Texas is already horrendous compared to the likes of California when it comes to infant and maternal death rates. It's funny because they call themselves "pro-life."

"The finding comes from a report, appearing in the September issue of the journal Obstetrics and Gynecology, that the maternal mortality rate in the United States increased between 2000 and 2014, even while the rest of the world succeeded in reducing its rate. Excluding California, where maternal mortality declined, and Texas, where it surged, the estimated number of maternal deaths per 100,000 births rose to 23.8 in 2014 from 18.8 in 2000 – or about 27%."

red states will have some incredible HIV/STD outbreaks too. Gonna look like Africa down there and then they'll have to get aids meds from the Clinton Foundation. Lel.

Those programs are quite good at stopping people from getting condoms and knowledge about safe sex I believe. That's something, right?

In a way yes. These programs often discourage use of birth control. And just say "don't have sex until marriage". But telling anyone to not have sex is like telling me to not bash Persona. It is going to happen, and you know it.

And we can see the results,

Contraception is a much cheaper alternative to STIs and unwanted pregnancies.

I know responsibility is shunned by those of a particular persuasion but don't you think there are certain action that individuals need to take on their own like buying rubbers? Condoms are not expensive. How long until the government must provide someone to hold the guys dick?

"Responsibility" isn't a policy. Telling people they should simply be more responsible and leave it at that would have you laughed out of any public policy class, yet you keep repeating this brain dead talking point. Makes me believe you simply have 0 grasp of these issues.

Also, there is more to contraception than just condoms. Nice strawman fallacy.

Your answer is to create more dependency? That was rhetorical because I know you people absolutely hate and despise any attempt at making people do for themselves. You much prefer the government doing the work.

P.P. gives out "free" rubbers so is it too much to expect and make people buy their own if they choose on using them?

Is there anything (within reason) you do expect the individual to do for himself? Anything at all? Working is out. Paying for insurance is out. Contraception is out.

No, that is not my answer. My answer is I prefer whatever solution brings about the best results for all involved including society. If that solution is the government and Planned Parenthood helping people cover their contraception costs, so be it. Why this concept seems to go over your head is baffling, really. The government's entire reason to exist is for the benefit of its citizens. Talking down to people about "personal responsibility" as a solution to complex, multi-faceted issues is pure idiocy not even a child would propose.

Second part of your post is just more inane babble. I don't believe I've ever said people shouldn't do those things.

See, this is where people lose credibility. When someone accurately points out that providing contraception and other family planning services saves money, you shout about personal responsibility and the inevitability of the government needing to hold someone's dick.
