That 'fact check' is technically true in that he didn't actually suggest people try it or that it would indeed work.

However, he did muse out loud about the possibilities and therein lies the problem. First it demonstrates that he is indeed a fucking moron. That is almost acceptable because if he wants to try it on himself I'm not going to stop him.

More problematic is the fact that many Americans will take cues from his musing which we have seen many times. That makes Trump reckless and endangering.

Worse still is the fact that these musings are deliberate and habitual and he uses them to his political advantage. He trial balloons all sorts of shit on a daily basis on whims/off the cuff and then denies that is what he meant. Because his ramblings are nothing more than musings there is a built in semi-plausible deniability. This is no different.

Correct. He did muse aloud about injections. And it was reckless because he's the president and some people might actually take him seriously and try it. I mean he did say he loves the uneducated. And they do support him.

In the rest of the world when you hold a press conference about the pandemic, you issue information that's been agreed upon and checked beforehand, then answer the questions that may arise.

In the US, It's a medical brain storming session where two "possible solutions" suggested is essentially consuming disinfectant in some way or another or ram a UV-light into a orifice to defeat a virus, By someone with zero medical knowledge.

Love the pitiful defense of the usuals here. The world they live in relies on the non-existence of implicit messaging and passive narratives. Trump said these things out loud. He doesn't need to explicitly tell people, 'Go do this', for it to be stupid and dangerous.

I watched the entire conference. It was obvious it was a sarcastic response to a reporter like he always does. Fake news gotta keep their views I guess.

The disinfectant sounds like he was referring to light. I can't bold the text because I'm on a phone. Disinfectant kills in a minute, light kills in a minute. Just a thought about what he might have meant. I still think he was being a bit sarcastic though.

N64DD deserves an apology. He was right and TCs' title is inaccurate. Trump didn't suggest people to inject themselves. Trump asked a really fucking stupid question out loud. Even for Trump, it was really stupid. That's saying something.

When trump's own mouth says they should look into doctor's injecting cleaners I am not wrong.

1. That site did put it under context. The source may be questionable, but nothing in that article was. Let us not commit genetic fallacies. We are better than that. (Not talking to you on this one but I meant more in general for everyone).

2. Trump is stupid, really stupid. But I doubt even he would do something THAT stupid.

3. Trump really cares about his perception. Him getting people killed, his base nonetheless would seriously hurt his image.

Because he said today that he was being sarcastic for one, and two, who actually thinks he meant injecting disinfectants like lysol into your veins as serious? Maybe he's lying. When I first heard him say it, I didn't think he actually meant that. He had a smug tone. And you're right btw, he wasnt responding to a reporter. I read over that transcript again and saw that it wasnt a reporter.

You can shove dots drawing out a picture into their face and they are utterly blind, only "provable" wrong in declaration of explicitness. Trump’s only fault here is having an off the cuff conversation with the press core and doctors. In no way did he suggest anyone inject or consume anything. It can’t be more obvious.

For the media, who we assume to be smart people, to overlook this or suggest otherwise tells us how stupid they actually are - and their followers to an extent.
