Trump suggests 'injection' of disinfectant to beat coronavirus and 'clean' the lungs

What if we just shrink doctors to the size of bacteria so they can enter the body and fight the virus directly?

@warmblur: I feel the same about people who think Trump actually suggested people consume or inject anything. But we all know most people didn’t watch the video in context and follow whatever their favourite fake news provider tells them what to think.

This. There's really no defending the fact that Trump was toying with the idea of injecting UV rays or whatever he said, but leave it to the #notmypresident people to do their best to blow it out of proportion.

Now we see Trump saying it was 'sarcastic'. Doesn't seem like 'fake' news when he's back peddling now. He can't even get the narrative right with his brain dead supporters.

Spin it how you want, Trump want's to or thinks it is possible to bring "bright lights" and "disinfectants" inside your body.

And that's not out of context. The paragraph before was him talking about how bleach and isopropyl work on physical surfaces so, naturally, in Trump's mind the logical thing to do is try it out on people's insides.

Sorry man I just don't see it. I've been working really hard to give people the benefit of the doubt lately, and I just can't find a reason to give it to Trump in this scenario.

How can sarcasm seriously be the defense? 50,000 Americans are dead and counting. Do you really want the defense to be "it's just a prank bro"? If anything that's worse.

People don't get Trump had an uncle that was a genius and this gives him knowledge the likes of which nobody has seen before.

Now he claims it's sarcasm? The worst thing about Trump is he doubles down worse than his supporters do. And why would you claim it's sarcasm? Is that really the right attitude to have right now during a pandemic? He clearly doesn't know what he's doing or saying at this point. You are right though that musing it was really dumb of trump. There are a lot of stupid people out there, who will believe anything the president says. And desperate people are far more likely to take ANY action, no matter how stupid it is (this is how alternative medicine thrives) If any person dies over this, Trump should be charged for manslaughter.

Injecting disinfectants is far more likely to kill or seriously harm you than eating animals with extremely strong immune systems.

Not to mention, due to the availability of food, eating rodents may be necessary for survival, such as in large swathes in africa, since a lot of the larger game is disappearing. Unfortunate but true.

He talks about how he heard light can kill the virus, applied outside or inside the body.

He then talls about how he heard disinfectant can knock out the virus in a minute, and speculates that this could be injected into the body, with a cautionary note that doctors would need to do the injecting.

Anyone listening to that might reasonably think that Trump believes injecting disinfectant would stop COVID-19. Alternately, they might reasonably think that Trump was rambling onstage, and had zero idea what we was talking about.

But...hey, I haven't seen the full press conference. Please explain your interpretation, and please also explain how his statements aren't dangerously negligent.

My friend I think feels sorry for Trump or something. We were talking about something, I think some sort of COVID profiteering example, and my buddy was like "Yeah I think Trump went after that dude" like he was trying to say Trump is actually doing some good.

I let it slide and didn't confront him about it, but it just seemed really out of place.

This buddy of mine is a super nice dude, really smart, well educated, has a great job and all that stuff. I just do not understand why he likes Trump so much. I've asked him about it and it's the ol' "He's an outsider" spiel...but there has to be more to it.
