@mattbbpl: maybe your the racist

This topic is locked from further discussion.
How outraged are you? Are you crying? Do you feel sick? Would you like to lay down while I fetch you a glass of water and a cold rag?
Don't worry darlings, momma Pelosi and Papa Shumer are going to get impeachment papers ready as soon as they find those pesky Russians trumps been dealing with.
An idiotic post, but at least you aren't going full low IQ and pretending what Trump said wasn't racist.
Thanks for that at least.
These people (Trump and the supposed minority politicians) have said numerous things looked upon as offensive (depending on who you are and where you stand) to each other but somehow the line is now crossed? It's called selective outrage.
You're being vague and hypothetical again.
What Trump said specifically regarding the OP was racist. There is no way around it. You're spinning.
Omar is as anti-american
Opinion. The other 3 are American born btw. What country would they go back to?
Like him or not, Trump knows what he is doing.
I agree. He knows he said something racist. That's the issue.
People can say stupid things (you perceive as racist) that are just plain ole ignorant and I don't know your story but you don't seem willing to share it though.
That's not a perception.
Telling a minority to go back to were they came from, even though they are American born, is racist. That's always been a racist phrase. That's never not been racist.
Speaking from an Australian context, the phrase "go back to where you came from" is invariably linked to Pauline Hanson and her One Nation party. They're openly racist, and sadly have a lot of supporters in the backwater parts of our country.
There's no debate over the phrase here in Australia. It's always used by old white people against people who look 'foreign', regardless of where they were born. It's a simple statement of "I'm right because I'm white, so accept it or leave the country".
So yes, this is an openly racist statment from Trump. I'm not surprised though - he says awful things all the time. It's what makes him so appealing to the backwater parts of the US.

There literally was never any debate over that phrase here in USA either....
UNTIL TODAY. Trump supporter are nuts.
Any president of this country (USA) who makes a official statement like that should be a clear sign that you are supporting the wrong team and have gone so extreme that they are willing to undermine the core values of the country. And yes, I know that these values have been violated by a specific group of people perpetually.

How you take a statement made to you is strictly on you. Other people could hear the same or similar thing said to them and not have to play the victim card or the race card.
How and why he said what he did is on him and believe me, he doesn't need people defending him as he is well schooled on how to pull strings and clearly he does it exceptionally well. The females (whom the media said he didn't even address but wants to say he kinda addressed them in a sarcastic way) are as anti American as they come. Tough taters if politicians can't handle it as they have said plenty of "offensive" statements but again, only now is the outrage coming to light. I'd have a different opinion if the daily outrage we see expressed was based on objectivity rather than a subjective pov.
Is it sad how the first thing I thought of is how crime-riddled the United States is?
That just makes what Trump have even less of a point.

So if Trump were to call black people apes, or a specific black person an ape that would only be racist if they personally found it racist, but also if they do find it racist they're playing the "victim card"?

Bad example. They can just point out that, technically, all humans are apes and make an argument Trump was merely being scientific.

It seems like people will always find some way of defending Trump no matter what he says or does.
@zaryia: What are you on? He said go back....and fix the government in those countries then COME BACK tell us how to run this one. Why are you reaching so much?
He says enough stupid shit,.no reason to reach like this
Why are you leaving out this gem, 'crime infested places from which they came'. This isn't reaching, he told native born Americans to go back to countries they aren't even from.
@HoolaHoopMan: Yes, he's pointing out their governments are much worse. Fix them, come back us tell us how. Dumb and immature, no where near racist
'Whose' governments? The people he directed it at are Americans, born and raised here (exception to Omar). There is no 'their'.
Well, if the 4 Congresswomen weren't American born, would the comment still be racist? I ask because I have seen at least 2 posters emphasizing this particular point.
Would you bet your life on Trump knowing beforehand that these Congresswomen were born in the US?
He just says stuff, we already know he exhibits racial animus.
We know who he is.
Good to see my preconceived notions are still being proven correct that being a Trump supporter just automatically means that you’re a ****
It's quite amazing that people are defending Trump over this. You don't even have to be a democrat or liberal to see how ridiculous, stupid, and racist his diatribe is.
I would laugh if all the native Americans began telling everyone in the US to go back to your own country.
Some of them already do. You're a few decades late to start laughing.

He (the other guy in the chain) doesn't have the liberty of deciding, for everyone, whether or not something is racist and that's exactly what he is doing. Some people like to be the perpetual victim while others can look beyond such an approach but it is ingrained in people to automatically cry racism. In the matter of Trump and the conceived judgement of the media, the victim card has been thrown but that tends to be the case these days. One can't say anything he/she wants then cry foul when someone hits you back.
Your question harkens back a few decades ago when Howard Cosell referred to Alvin Garrett in a unique way. It can or can not be racist based on certain criteria but of course we'll have a segment out there automatically tossing out the race card.
Anything negative said about these people would cause the media to erupt because, yes, they are a protected class and you can't express any criticism of them.
Telling a brown AMERICAN BORN person to go back to their country is racist. It's always been racist.
You're over complicating this and bending over backwards to defend Trump.
who was he saying it to? nothing in his tweet pointed to anyone specific
Stop playing dumb,
https://www.cnn.com/2019/07/14/politics/donald-trump-tweets-democratic-congresswomen-race-nationalities/index.html
https://www.vox.com/2019/7/14/20693758/donald-trump-tweets-racist-xenophobic-aoc-omar-tlaib-pressley-back-countries
It's on the record.
Is he was referring to Omar, he wasn't incorrect. People are so sensitive to this stuff. He should know better. Dumb thing to say either way.
Countries. Congress Women.
Plural.
i ask you to show me in donald trumps own words who he was referring to, and you give me a couple links from CNN and fucking vox telling me who he was saying it to? they dont know who he was saying it to, lmao, ffs.. try getting news from an organization that isnt hell bent on telling falsehoods to stir shit up

Don't pretend to have an incredibly low IQ just because you are a Trump Voter.
You know exactly who he was referring to. The same people he's been talking about all of last week.
This is worse than Solar's defense. You're literally the only right winger in this thread still playing this idiotic card. Even FOX NEWS knows who he was talking about.

you NEED to believe the other side is racist in order for any of your arguments to even hold any water, which is why they dont, and why you're an absolute joke.. go read more vox fake news about what to think and then come back and try to convince us all of a narrative that only exists in your mind
$100 says zaryia didnt complain when AOC used a fake black accent, or clinton made the hot sauce comment to pander to blacks, or when she said they all looked alike, or when her, biden, obama, and many others in the DNC praised a clan member in their party as a friend and mentor when he died in 2012... but.. vox probably didnt cover any of that so he may be completely unaware
then he absolutely obsesses over something trump said as being racist, when it mentions nothing of race, and he doesnt specify who he is actually talking to... if you want to whine about faux racists (only racist because vox says so), try cleaning up the ones in your party first
Well, if the 4 Congresswomen weren't American born, would the comment still be racist?
It would be somewhat debatable. Certainly still stupid and xenophobic, but racist? It would depend.
Enough about hypothetical though, he did use a common racist phrase on American borns. It happened, and he was condemned by both sides. As he should be.

ive heard people say it to people from europe and canada as well.. you know, white people, since you evidently only see the world in color and racial factions.. tell me, was that racist?
You NEED to believe the other side is racist in order for any of your arguments to even hold any water,
What Trump said regarding these women was objectively racist. This isn't one of those debatable ones.
Nothing you say will change this.

Telling non-whites to go back to America, even though they were born in America, is a common racist phrase.
You're spinning wildly.

to go back to where exactly? where did trump tell them to go back to?
@burntbyhellfire: you should start another account.
Took you less than a week to ruin this one.
that doesnt even make sense
@Nuck81: Congrats for spinning this in a way that just doubles down on the conclusion you already have made up.
Nowhere did Trump say anything racist and while you could argue that the 3 born in America are in fact Americans and therefore "going home" would be a moot point since they are already home.
The very fact that these 3 seem to hail their origin as their "home" Trump´s point is pretty much just "Don´t throw stones when your home is a glass house"
to go back to where exactly? where did trump tell them to go back to?
Apparently he wants them to go back to USA and fix that crime infested hellhole.
ROFL.
This is why people always mock at that commonly used and objectively racist phrase. Have you really never heard about it before? It's been in popular media as well as used in real life, specifically as a racist term.
“Go back to your own country,” the masked man said, or words to that effect, according to The Seattle Times. After an altercation, the man shot at Rai, hitting him in the arm, and fled.
It’s a phrase that is becoming an anthem of hate. The shooting came less than two weeks after three men were shot, one fatally, at a Kansas bar. The shooter, Adam Purinton, is alleged to have shouted, “Get out of my country,” before opening fire. Last week, a Latino man riding the subway in New York was punched in the face by a man who was insulting Mexicans and told to “go back to your country.”
Nowhere did Trump say anything racist and while you could argue that the 3 born in America are in fact Americans and therefore "going home" would be a moot point since they are already home.
No way are you being this stupid right now.
Telling colored people to go back to their country even though they are American born is a commonly used racist term and this fact was never even up for debate until yesterday. Not are there only tons of examples, but it's happened to me as well. You clowns are insane, and trying to alter reality to defend Trump.
Also, the fact you think Nuck is spinning this widespread and headlining condemnation is hilarious,

@zaryia: Again Trump did not say anything racist.
If you are someone who claims and are a "proud" of your origin country, it´s not racist for someone to tell you that if you are so proud of your "home" then why don´t you live there and fix whatever problems it has.
But you go ahead and dismiss a valid point, it´s not like what he said was meant for far-leftists anyways.
At this point I'm fairly convinced that Trump could just come right out and say "I hate all brown people, they suck and making america great again means getting rid of them and their rights."
And the right would still be like "oh haha what a jokester that ol sassy Trump, clearly this is just yanking your chain, quit being so sensitive!"
@zaryia: Again Trump did not say anything racist.
Yes he did. It literally was. It's a commonly used racist phrase. It's been used against others during hate crimes, it's been used against me specifically for racism. Telling 4 non-whites to go back to their country even though 3 are American born (and one a citizen) is racist. If this was anyone else you would agree with me, because that's never been up for debate UNTIL YESTERDAY.
Can you imagine a known and agreed upon fact becoming a point of contention just because of Trump cultists?

Nice try also no what you may feel, your feelings are not gospel, but again I did not expect you and far-leftists to see it any other way.
But let´s look at what Trump actually said, he is not singling anyone out, All he did was make a valid point. If you and your comrades build a house on sand, it´s not really a good idea to go over to a place where the foundation is solid and tell them how to build a house.
It´s really that simple.

Solid gaslighting but here's what Trump said.
"So interesting to see 'Progressive' Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run,"
Progressive Democrat Congresswomen is absolutely singling someone out, there's no ambiguity as to which few people are being referenced.
And no, his point is not valid. The fact that the majority of referenced individuals are American born citizens itself, makes the comment exceptionally stupid even if you somehow consider it to not be abjectly racist. But even beyond that, the entire concept is based on terrible logic. Telling people they shouldn't talk about problems in America because things are worse elsewhere is textbook fallacy of relative privation.
Nowhere did Trump say anything racist and while you could argue that the 3 born in America are in fact Americans and therefore "going home" would be a moot point since they are already home.

i've heard people tell europeans to go back to where they came from.. ive heard people also say it to other americans from other states... are they racist as well? or is it only racist to say this when it fits your narrative?..
also, the term "colored people" is racist, and has been deemed a racial slur.. so kindly take your racism elsewhere
and let me know when theresa may is elected leader of the united states, until she is her opinion means as little as NYTs, BBCs, and WaPos
i dont see him bringing up race anywhere in the tweet.. but i guess everything is racist
Of course you took it out of context and put words in his mouth.
More bs
Telling a non white people who were mostly was BORN IN THE USA to "go back to whatever country they came from" has always been a racist phrase.....
You guys are spinning SO hard right now.
I remember one time someone told me to go back to my country due to my tan skin, even though I was born here. That was objectively racist. Things didn't end well for him.
Pretty pathetic seeing people brush off such an ignorant comment from the president.
what else can they do at this point?
