You are trying awfully hard to squirm away from the fact that they attempted to overturn the election.

DIdn't watch it, or ignoring the what you don't like. Got it.

You are being HAD by NYT CNN MSNBC

Who here said it was coordinated? We are well aware low IQ Trumpers can't coordinate very well.

Both.

Some people were there explicitly because they didn't want Biden elected. They wanted to stop that. It's literally in video and online documentation. It's in court documents now too. Not sure why you are trying to spin this.

Not sure why you are defending these maniacs. No Democrat here is defending the Summer riotiers (Although how many of them were wearing Biden hats and literally came from a Biden rally btw? That seemed less directly political.) That doesn't mean what they did was okay.

Did those DC Riots actually stop congress and attack it? You're quite off with the facts here.

Damn after 4 years of people here telling me polls don't count they now count.

Also that dip isn't out of the norm for a new POTUS. The last guy's numbers however were out of the norm, far lower than usual.

@zaryia: Unfortunately, you don't know me. I haven't lost a wink of sleep over a Biden Presidency. I slept like a baby election night, disappointed, but all was well. The world kept spinning. Unlike every night for liberals under a Trump Presidency. No kicking and screaming over here, no foaming at the mouth like liberals have done for 4 years. Some people know how to move forward from loss, some don't. Gonna be a rough mid term and Presidential election for the left next go around. I'm just curious to see what will be the blame. Can't use Russia again. Good luck.

Last I checked, there was no coup from the left to try to overturn an election.

You know how triggered some libs are? I can't post it here, but I essentially received messages from a whacked out liberal on FB messenger just last month, telling me how if the GOP retakes the House and Senate, that liberals will make January 6th look like childs play. That liberals will show how a take over is really done. I can't say much else as it was a violent conversation from this looney toon. Very concerning mentally. Calls for a civil war and all that. Now that doesn't sound very "Love Trumps Hate" to me. Now do I believe liberals will do something so extreme? No, I can't imagine it. This was a mentally ill liberal who needs help. But just to receive messages from a crazy liberal like this...it just reinforces why I left the party. I don't want anything to do with that crazy talk.

So all you got is some alleged liberal on the FB? Is that the best you got?

If we are gonna go that low, should I bring up the TWO right wingers on this forum, who outright wished for a civil war so they could do unspeakable evils on us lefties on this board?

But nah, these are allegations, and merely barking. Storming the capitol building to try to overthrow democracy. Is far worse. Actions speak louder than words.

Or the fact that right wing terrorism is on the rise, and far eclipses terrorism of any other ideology, be it Religious extremism or Left Wing Extremism.

@sargentd: And despite that, he continues to be the most popular politician among his own party. So you can't merely handwave him. He is STILL relevant.

Oh and it seems I was understating the threat of right-wing extremism, it isn't just a US thing, but an international thing too,

While in the EU, Right Wing terrorism has always been smaller than Left Wing Terrorism, in 2020, this might end up having been reversed,

It was always going to end this way with Biden's approval and Biden remorse. It's just happened a lot faster than I think anyone really imagined, with the media turning on him now and all. I'm just disappointed it had to happen this way, but it's great to know Dems will lose the mid terms and the GOP will be able to block Biden the rest of the way and we'll get an R back in office. Dems waited 4 years and all they got was this clown. All that time fussing about Trump, how they could do so much better...and this is what they got. Just wild. Almost feel bad but I don't. They deserve it.

There was news that the House and Senate is on the way to flipping Republican before Afghanistan. Now HuffPo and Buzzfeed won't tell you that, but things have been looking bright for the mid terms before Afghanistan. This sealed the deal. I'm willing to be a fair amount of money on it, I'm 100% certain now more than ever the left can kiss it goodbye next year. And there's no telling what other screw ups will happen between now and then to put even more nails in the coffin.

@nnoyinghusband: I remember you guys saying that 2020 was gonna be a landslide for Trump (despite empirical evidence showing it was most likely going to go to Biden)

Please excuse me while I wait for actual empirical data.

Edit: Found something

That doesnt quite paint the rosy picture your feelings are trying to paint.

Impeachment for what? Not being Trump?

For bailing out of Afghanistan. closing the embassy and leaving thousands of Americans stranded through out the country. His press sectary just said Biden can't guarantee he will be able to get them out by August 31, 2121. That means we are going to have send a lot of military personnel back to retake areas including the air base we gave up and fight against the Taliban ho we be using our own weapons against us that Biden left behind. This is Biden's doing nobody else's. He onws it no matter how you try to spin it.

Are you conveniently forgetting trump made the agreement with the Taliban, not the Afghan government by the way, released 5000 prisoners which are now in charge, and reduced troop strength to only 2500?

Biden is the president not Trump which is why things are going the way they are right now in Afghanistan. Biden is weak and no leader and every nation knows it, epically our enemies.

Trump didn't surrender. You can't accept the fact that Biden is a coward and will leave American's stranded in Afghanistan. This is what happens when you have a rigged election and an administration that is woke approved. Biden got rid of all of Trump's orders but couldn't deal with the Taliban. Well you own Biden and his disasters he has created. He has done more damage to this country in eight months than any other president. Biden is not a leader and has never been very intelligent and now with his advanced age he is completely useless and his VP is worse than that.

McMaster came out and blamed trump FYI. Trump did surrender to the Taliban. He made the agreement with the Taliban. NOT the Afghanistan government. He released 5000 Taliban prisoners and they are now in charge. He stopped the SIV visas which is a problem not. He delayed the transition which compromises intelligence and security.

The operation isn't over yet and you're clutching your pearls. No one is stranded. Over 70K have been transferred and they are still operating over there removing people. What orders are you talking about? We're leaving Afghanistan and it's passed the time to do so. The country is a much better condition than it was under Trump so you're wrong Jim.

A messy withdrawal isn't grounds for impeachment. According to Congressional Republicans, nothing is. You can literally solicit bribes from a foreign power and that's all good and dandy. Inciting insurrection against the first branch of government is apparently fine for them too.

The Afghan government was part of the deal and were supposed to enter in the negations. The Taliban were afraid of Trump he told them he would hunt them down if they broke their word. They are not afraid of Biden in fact Biden is afraid of his staff or who ever is advising him he says it publicly all the time. As far as being stranded his administration gave the Taliban what amounts to a kill list of Americans that will not be able to get out. That is our great leadership.

Biden deserves to be removed but it won't be because of this. It'll be because of his severe mental decline and both President Pelosi (we know who's running the country) and her lap dog, Harris, will happily stab Biden in the back. He probably won't even see it coming.

Love how the borders being open will bring in bad people, criminals, racists, druglords....

.....but y'all pretend there is no consequence to releasing 5000 Taliban prisoners back into the wild.

The Taliban are in Afghanistan and the one point three illegal's are in our country. Big difference. You forget in that deal the Taliban released 1000 prisoner's they were holding.

What would ve been the alternative to releasing the taliban prisoners? Afaik they were all locked up in Afghanistan, which is under control of the Taliban for the most part. Some might have missed that.

They are not afraid of Biden in fact Biden is afraid of his staff or who ever is advising him he says it publicly all the time. As far as being stranded his administration gave the Taliban what amounts to a kill list of Americans that will not be able to get out. That is our great leadership.

No they weren't. Trump invited in Taliban to Camp David and only backed down because of negative reactions. The Taliban is also not afraid of Trump. They didn't fight Americans because they got what they wanted. And end to Americans in Afghanistan. If Trump was still president and didn't remove troops, they'd have attacked then as well. You have so little understanding of the geopolitical scale.

Funny both McMaster and Esper are blaming Trump for his part in this.

What was reported about the list is that they identified people on buses going though but so far those buses have not been attacked. If you have proof of anything else then post it.

Of you haven't been paying attention, this is how history unfold in this country: republicans create a mess, which was a 20 year old war. Democrats have to fix it, as they always have to, then Democrats take the blame. Same crap over and over.

Really? Republicans created the mess? How so? Because Bush was in office? Democrats controlled the Senate though so.... not sure why you're trying to defend one party by erroneously pretending it's all the fault of the other. And 9-11 probably wouldn't have happened if not for a lot of kicking of the can down the road many years prior. Bill Clinton even had multiple opportunities to deal with Bin Laden long before 9/11 but didn't have the balls to do it.

Do you really think the two parties are all that different? Good vs evil and all that bullshit?

So tell me, what was obtained for releasing those prisoners?

This current administration can't pour water out of a boot with directions on the heel. The constitution was set up to be able to remove a bad president. The thinking was the VP could take over. In the current state the VP is worse than the current president. I don't know how the country is going to survive. There is no leadership in Washington.

Yet the country is doing better than the last administration.

By this same manner could we have called for Ronald Reagan's resignation after the 1983 barracks bombing Lebanon? ~250 marines died in a single attack. What about George Bush right after 9/11? Both of these incidents, and their ancillary after effects, have racked up a huge American and military death toll. Or if it's not necessarily the death toll let's look at PR and global initiatives. Trump removed us from Syria and left bases and supplies behind, not to mention Kurdish allies in the dust. Is that not applicable?

If we're viewing these types of events in a total vacuum, assuming no overlay with previous administrations (which literally every conservative is arguing), then these are far worse in comparison. I'm trying to gauge which type of requirements we're applying to these situations.

Dude, it doesn't matter the death toll. The fact remains the same, when Democrats f uck up, it's bad. When Republicans f uck up, it's ok because they've cornered the market on shallow and performative patriotism which is enough to fool millions of people. Ironic because they do more harm to America than any other terrorist organization could dream of.

Still waiting for someone to answer the question of what was received in exchange for those prisoners released by the Afghan government?

I'm still waiting on you to provide evidence on global warming being caused solely by the sun.

Except, that's not what I said, was it? There are many natural factors involved. Poor attempt at a deflection though. This thread is about the 5,000 prisoners released by the Afghan government. Did they get anything in exchange, and if so, what? Or are we only going to look at those 5,000 in a complete vacuum?

Those president did not cause the problem. We are witnessing the greatest surrender in American history which will have long lasting effects for decades to come. We have lost all credibility with other nations, no one will trust us. What mut or allies that need or protection be thinking after this monumental lack of courage leaving behind American citizens and allies. I was always proud to say these colors don't run, can't say that anymore.

The surrender happened when trump signed the agreement with the Taliban Jim.

Yup. Even with the economy and now Covid. Dems fix it, GOP claims they made it.
