It is time to put up or shut up. This is a proxy vote and Brexit is on the ballot. Boris Johnson is for Brexit, Jeremy Corbyn is still deciding on his position on the issue (I kid, sort of).

Enough of this, do or do not, there is no try.

Remain people this is your 2nd opportunity, it isn't perfect but it will have to do.

I think the Tories will win and the UK will finally leave the European Union.

Our Political homies in the UK, how do you feel about this vote?

Are you going to vote tomorrow? If you don't mind sharing, for who?

Are you going to vote tactically?

Let the party begin.

As a non UK citizen, I am most interested in: Who is for Brexit, who is against it?

My feeling is people just want this to get finished. Tories will win. If Labour wanted to have a chance, they needed to present a clear alternative plan that they could unite behind, and they haven't done that.

I'm just an American speculating from outside, but thats the sense I'm getting. Maybe I'm just projecting my feelings about our own upcoming election.

The people I know from England are in favor of leaving, but are tired of the delays which do nothing but harm.

I think Tories will win and UK will probably split up into different countries , maybe Scotland and England

I don't really know what is going to happen to N. Ireland though.

Don't be surprised if old Anglo-Irish tensions spark again. NIRA have been pretty freaking active post-GFA. Either that, or Sinn Fein finally gets what they want with an Irish reunification vote.

They probably will. The UK is one of the largest positively contributing nations within the EU. That means they pay a hell of a lot more into the system than they get out of it. Their loss means a lot of the countries that remain will have to pick up that burden and they won't be able to handle it all. It's going to have a cascading effect. This is the beginning of the end of the European Union.

I see the U.K. is going to proudly walk off a cliff. What a debacle, Brexit has been a colossal disaster, and yet people still want a dunce like Boris Johnson to lead the way.

Might as well. The UK is finished. There's a good chance that Scotland and Northern Ireland may separate. If that happens, the UK would cease to exist, and it would just become Little England again.

Funny, the queen started her reign with an empire and may end it with a broken island.

Are they more left? The country is 90% white and voted to exit the most beneficial economic mechanism their country has had since the monarchy because it meant others be benefited from it too.

They are even trying to gut the NHS to be more like that of the humanitarian disaster that is the US healthcare system.

@burntbyhellfire: Identity politics, of course. It’s white people that support the white supremacy of BoJo and Trump.

Really not hard to grasp, use some critical thinking skills.

So what you are saying is because British people are white, they must be racist? Do you realize what a ridiculously racist comment that is you've just made?

The UK is screwed without the EU. Their economy is a wreck and they violated varying agreements (including the GFA, which had the support of not only the EU, but the US as well). Scotland and Northern Ireland want to make a break for it, while pro-Brexit parties want Glasgow and Belfast (especially to smite the ROI) to die with London.

@burntbyhellfire: Damn, not only do you lack critical thinking skills, you also can’t seem to read. No one said “because British people are white they must be racist”.

Rather, all the white racists in Britain, of which there are a lot of them I can assure you of that, would of course seek to continue to uphold their entrenched racial and plutocratic system and vote for the unabashedly racist and xenophobic Boris Johnson. Additionally, don’t let anyone fool you into thinking an issue like Brexit is about “economic anxiety” but is rather ALL about racism. It’s the EU’s subsidies after all that fuel the flyover parts of the country like Northern England and Wales.

Britain after all is the historical bastion of white supremacy, colonialism, imperialism, and the British Empire committed atrocities that would make even Mao and Hitler blush.

You mean the same "Brexiteers" that have all but killed any other similar movements? Brexit is such a bad idea and been executed so poorly thus far, that now there are no right-wing "populists" parties in other countries in Europe anymore who preach exiting the EU lol. FN in France, Liga in Italy, all of them no longer want to leave the EU but remain in it. Even those morons figured out leaving the EU is an awful idea. Looks like our friends the British are still too thick-headed to realize these most basic of things. Corbyn himself is a Brexiteer and he got trounced.

Brexit is fake populism, essentially astroturfing. The idea was pushed by rich elites like Rupert Murdoch who own the British media and tabloids because the EU is the only thing protecting British citizens from a full-on, American-style neo-liberal, privatization takeover of the British state. The British propaganda machine and operations make the US's media look quaint in comparison.

So what you are saying is Brexiteers are not populist because they won, and populists winning do not fit your narrative so they must have been duped somehow. Next you'll be telling me the Russians were behind Brexit.

No, that is what you are saying. Again with the reading difficulties and putting words into people's mouthes. How can I take you seriously if you won't even be honest?

What I'm saying is that Brexiteers aren't populists because the people leading the charge are all media and business elites. These people are as establishment as you can possibly get.

My understanding of Brexit is fairly modest, but it's composed of a variety of complex things. Lots of misinformation in the campaign for Brexit. The conservative leader and former PM, Cameron, was incredibly opposed to it. He was pro-business but felt brexit would doom the UK. Corbyn, was labour's leader but was actually for a brexit despite labour itself being generally against brexit. I've heard that there were some issues that centered around anti-immigrant/immigration policy but I dont know how prominently that played into Brexit. And I've also heard that Russia was pro-brexit because they felt it would help to weaken both the UK and the EU, but as to what level and whether it had an impact, I don't know.

Bullcrap, the majority of the media in the UK was anti brexit and parliament has dragged their feet for years trying to delay executing the will of the people. Remainers and EU elites have been the ones spewing off the debunked gloom and doom stories hoping that if they could scare enough people away from it they could push for a second vote hoping the next one will go their way. It failed again though. The people want it, this isn't orchestrated by media, by business, or by Russians.

Uh....I hate to break it to you, but Brexit was a product of racism.

It's actually quite surprising that you went this long thinking it wasn't, going so far as saying that associating Brexit with racism made one look ridiculous and ill informed (!!!). Which is honestly wild.

Let's ignore how the independence party and other anti-EU groups have been openly racist (like Nigel Farage speaking of the "n—-r vote" and told reporters that he would use a racist slang word to refer to Chinese restaurants.) But the fact that people who voted for Brexit were:

- Because they wanted "control of borders" and "control of immigration" (conveniently when there were a lot of refugees coming from the Middle East).

- Most voters for leaving were in low income areas with lots of immigrants

- Mostly older voters

- Mostly less educated voters

- Majority white voters, while voters of other races mostly picked to stay

That's not to say there weren't people who voted to leave and weren't racist (maybe they voted left because the bus claimed it was going to protect the NHS), obviously that will never be 100% the case. But the entire movement itself was a racist one.

But hey, even if you didn't know this up to this point, it's ok, because everybody learns something new every day.

Wow, you people have a hard time accepting the results of any kind of election or vote that doesn't go your way. I bet you think the people in the left in the UK have an obligation to dismantle or sabotage brexit in any way possible because, after all it's just a product of racism that someone wouldn't want to be an EU member, right? Does that mean Norway are racists too? They're not in the EU.

Oh, and by the way, if the UK is a majority of white countries, then yeah, a majority of whites voted for it and guess what? More whites would have also voted against it rather than in favor. Your evidence of racism "most the people who voted for it are white" is thin as **** and shows you to have an obsession with skin color.

Yeah, they do that too to try to win arguments. But what does it take to get through to people that maybe people just disagree with their ideologies. Maybe not everyone wants what they want. But no, it just MUST be racists and Russian interference. They're completely unable to comprehend the possibility that maybe people just didn't want what they were selling.

@Master_Live: Looks like I was completely wrong about my prediction. The other thread has been locked.

Such a shame the UK will inevitably be weaker (economically, militarily and politically) once Boris Johnson takes the country out of the EU.
