Poll What is your political leaning? (45 votes)

Militant Right 0%
Far Right 4%
Right 9%
Right leaning 13%
Centrist 13%
Left Leaning 29%
Left 24%
Far Left 4%
Militant Left 2%

Can’t find a thread on this. What is your political leaning? Let’s see this area’s political makeup ahead of the election.

mil·i·tant

/ˈmiləd(ə)nt/

adjective

combative and aggressive in support of a political or social cause, and typically favoring extreme, violent, or confrontational methods.

Just so militant is known. It doesn’t have to be violent, just combative and aggressive. Confrontational methods are also not always violent.

I am Militant Left. Not in the sense of terrorism. But just that after Trump and the vile hate the right has thrown at the left for just existing, not to mention the lies and blatant cheating and rigging of the system, I have been pushed even farther left. I expect attacks, but that will only validate me and push me farther left. Keep that in mind, attacking people only pushes them farther away from you instead of pulling them to the center. That attitude is why I was pushed left.

Left leaning but it ultimately depends on context.

Which is why I have voted for 5 different parties in my lifetime

Social Democrats
Green Party
Center Party
Moderates (Liberal-Conservative)
Liberal Party (Right Wing)

Centrist, most issues require a complex answer.
Want people to be able to do what they want though, Have some left ideologies and some right.

But pretty much believe in a democratic society with social policies as long as they are checked and there's measures to keep people from abusing them. Don't believe in taxing the hell out of the rich nor leaving the poor to stay poor. I absolutely hate bailouts for large companies but do think monopolies need to be stopped. For immigration, against mass immigration.

Right. I support the President and his policies and I oppose the Left and most of theirs.

Honestly, left right is such a terrible way to discuss politics, so I would prefer just going with general themes.

For example on the topic off...

  • Economics: I am a Liberal-Conservative
  • Gender: I am a feminist
  • Environment: I am an environmentalist, favoring Renewable technology, avoiding plastic and see Nuclear Power as an excellent transitional energy source
  • Race Relations: Pro-BLM, honestly though, where I live, the concept of race is so different so unrecognizeable from the American concept. Most simply couldnt care about black and white over here. The divisions here are... different.
  • International Relations: I favor diplomacy, lower military spending, soft power over hard power
  • Trade: I am heavily in favor of Globalization and Free Trade
  • LGBT-Rights: Pro-Transgender Rights, Pro-Enby, Pro-Nonconforming and yes, Pro-Gay rights
  • Culture: Apply Natural Selection to all ideas, no matter how traditional. The free marketplace will most likely end up eliminating most traditions.
  • Immigration: I am pro-immigration, and giving an easy path to citizenship to illegal immigrants.
  • Science: I believe more should be spent on scientific research.
  • Religion: I am a secularist. I believe church and state must remain seperate. And this seperation of church and state is beneficial for both believers and non-believers alike.

Overall right leaning. But I try to never take a position because its held by “my side”. On the economy (less government), law/order, freedom of speech + annoyance with identity politics etc I def lean right.

I’m no fan of religion, I’m for the right to abortion and care about climate change. So on those issues I’m more left.

You voted against Trudeau twice in the same election? Is that legal in Canada?

I put far right, but that wouldn't be exactly correct. I'm far right with economic policies. I'm also a TRUE conservative with social policies. Things that don't affect me personally, why the fuk should I actually care about. Things like LGBTQ rights, abortion, the social justice movement. Alot of so called right wingers get their panties in a bunch about these social policies, but I really don't care about these things. Its peoples rights to express their speech, so go ahead and do it loud. I will never have a problem with it, even if what you say pisses me off. Aside from abortion, which kind of rubs me the wrong way morally speaking, but I accept that its not my choice either.

This is one of the reasons I strongly disagree with Trump putting up loonies on the supreme court, any moderate judge would be preferrable. I definitely don't want left leaning justices, but I don't want the typical right wing justices either.

Moderate. Don't always agree with everything from a party but lately I cannot find anything good about the right at all. That said I've voted for candidates from various parties.

Hey, the right wing outside the US isn't THAT bad, in some cases, I even prefer the right wing parties over their respective left-wing parties.

I know what you mean though :P

Makes sense, I find the Democratic party pretty relateable, but the Republicans? They are so alien and wierd. Almost like some kind of bizarro politcal cult (which is how I also percieve the sweden democrats).

In my country, I would almost certainly never vote for the Left party, and certainly don't get me started on Rodrigo Duterte from the Phillipines.

I lean towards sanity.

I would be tempted to say Centrist but that isn't exactly correct either. Often Centrist is another word for nothing, vanilla, mediocre middle. Especially when Centrist politicians try to please everyone on every policy choice.

In reality, society requires a mix of left, right, and middle ground policies to function best.

Centrist, which is way i detest both parties. Seriously, bunch of moron. Far left, far right. Need to have cow feces shoved in their mouths.
