Trump isn't exactly something to write home about. I liked him more than Hillary. We were given shit choices this time around.

Who do you think out there would honestly make a good leader in our country?

Honestly no clue.. Our system is rotten to the core where both parties push very similar agendas in multiple areas in both domestic and foreign policy.. Even Trump, the crazy wild card, is falling in line on multiple issues in which past presidents have done the same.. Simply put money needs to get out of politics, it is all corrupting and pretty much puts the interests over a select few people and corporation vs's the rest of the country.. I have lost all confidence in our political system as a whole and this past DNC primary really illustrated how corrupt and orchestrated this shit is in creating the illusion of democracy...

At this point, I'd take Dwayne Johnson or Steven Colbert!

"Francis Underwood" or "The Rock" would be perfect choices.

But ya Trump is definitely not something right now the country needed.

Hopefully tho Trump will get better and start to make America better.

Mayweather nice joke. But he will have to spend some time in the ICU after the Mcgregor fight first tho.

Are you aware that they are having a boxing match, right? McGregor isn't a boxer lol. You may be the only person I've seen who thinks McGregor is going to win, so cheers for being different?

Well, let´s see

And who thinks Mayweather will win ? if he didn't have homecourt advantage he would have lost to Manny.

But why am i not surprised you are fan of a women-beating sicko.

I'm pretty sure every single person with an ounce of boxing knowledge believes Mayweather is going to win. Because, McGregor isn't a boxer.

No, I am not a fan of Mayweather. My first post was an obvious joke. Please don't make up stuff. I can acknowledge the simple fact that Mayweather is an extremely talented and successful boxer (he is 49-0) while at the same time not being a fan of his.

@Jacanuk: *snicker* at least we'll finally know who is a better boxer: one of the greatest of his era...or someone who isn't a boxer.

It boggles my mind that people think McGregor has a chance, but these are probably the same people who bought the Mayweather/Pacquiao fight and then were pissed it was boring.

I guess it depends on what side of the boxing fence you are on, a lot of people acknowledges that Mcgregor hits like a train, and that Mayweather will have a hard time.

But yes i knew it was a joke and as with any sport both sides have their supporters, so let's see after the fight who wins.

But i call a mayweather getting hit a few times and getting scared and spending the remaining fight like with manny just dodging punches and counting on landing a few and of course the home-court advantage with the refs.

Yeah, I don't expect Mayweather to land a knock out or anything like that since his knuckles have been fragile for years now.

There is no such thing as a good president. Once upon a time maybe, but not for ages.

The system dictates they will never have the general populace's best interests in mind.

I like Ben Shapiro, but he needs a few more years under his belt.

Eh I don't think it's impossible to elect someone with the best interests but only choosing between the already wealthy makes it difficult.

@perfect_blue: if it goes past round 3 McGregor doesn't have a chance. McGregor has never had to condition for a pro boxing match.

It will be scary for mayweather the first three rounds. A puncher always has a chance and if mayweather doesn't take it seriously he could get caught.

Realistically though, even at 3/4 speed, mayweather hands are far faster than anything McGregor has ever seen.

Bill Burr is great lol.

To be honest whoever the president is never really mattered to me, as long as they are pro business and cut my taxes.

Clinton and Reagan for example, are as different as a frog and a toad to me. Although Reagan is obviously better.

@n64dd: No more Trump Train for you then?

Of the people who seem to be planning to run next go around I like Corey Booker. Beyond that, give me some names and I'll consider them. Former New York mayor, Michael Bloomberg seemed to have the courage to support unpopular things in that turned out to be very good for New York over time, and he's an independent. I wouldn't pick a person lacking in political experience though.

Cory Booker is a typical corporate establishment democrat who underlines everything wrong with the party..

Congress is a huge mess, and until that changes I just don't think it matters who is president. Big money needs to get out, obstruction needs to calm down, and bipartisan legislation needs to be the norm, not the exception (especially over issues that affect 20% of our nation's economy).

But if I were to put someone in charge of this train wreck, it would be Hillary Clinton. I know, she's a corrupt, corporate, neo-liberal stooge, but America doesn't need a president we like right now, we need a president who can keep a strait face while wading through waist-deep bison diarrhea. She knows Washington inside and out, she has a history of putting together bi-partisan legislation, and can shrug off ridiculous criticism from all sides (Something a president is going to get no matter how great they are).

Corey Booker once looked promising, but he basically destroyed his chances by siding with big companies on a few bills over the past year or so. It should be clear to the DNC now (should be but probably isn't) that the democratic base is not going accept a candidate like that.

Congress is definitely not in charge of the President just like the President isn't in charge of Congress or the Judiciary. The three branches are separate but equal.

Corey Booker once looked promising, but he basically destroyed his chances by siding with big companies on a few bills over the past year or so. It should be clear to the DNC now (should be but probably isn't) that the democratic base is not going accept a candidate like that.

Vox wrote up an interesting article looking at Booker and the votes you described -- but this is the most poignant part of the article to me:

“Politics is much more nationalized than it was just a few decades ago,” said Swers [Michele Swers, a Georgetown University professor who specializes in Congress] in an interview in October 2016.

She added: “That probably has to do with the fact that the way you get your information has changed. Twenty years ago ... if you were a House member, you could get the coverage of your character, of the bill you passed for your home district, or of you in parades or whatever. Now, with there being so much more national coverage and the local papers dying out, it’s much more ideological.”

And that new dynamic will create a new form of headache for senators like Cory Booker who may have higher national ambitions. They are stuck between two bad outcomes — defying the industries of their home states, or taking a position that could be broadly unpopular with their national parties.

Congress can override the President's veto if they were unified, not the other way around. Of course they are separate branches, and however you took what I said I guess relies on the context that you thought you read into. A unified Congress has immense authority, whereas the President is limited in what they can force against the unified will of Congress. If you disagree with that, then that is of course your opinion.

You had me until you thought you could put anyone in charge of the train wreck. Congress is mean't to be in charge of the President, not the other way around. Until Congress gets it's act together I'll let all the energized people vote for what I couldn't care less about.

Congress is definitely not in charge of the President just like the President isn't in charge of Congress or the Judiciary. The three branches are separate but equal.

Alright, "in charge" was not an entirely accurate choice of words. But my point is Hillary Clinton is a person with the right political experience to have a chance of working with this dysfunctional congress. She probably wouldn't have pulled it off, but she would have come closer than the current guy will.

Tulsi Gabbard.

I'm find with Elizabeth Warren, too.

I don't want a President that focuses too much on wedge issues, though.

agreed that it doesn't matter who is president of the US. The system is a joke/corrupt to the core and represents the interests of a select few over the masses. With that said, until things change from the bottom up, it doesn't matter who becomes president. Even Bernie Sanders is a joke...I find it funny how he refuses to start a new 3rd party in politics...something that would change the landscape of politics in the USA for the better.

At this point, I'd be interested in seeing the ROCK as president, or perhaps LaVar Ball. Borat would also be a great choice.

There is no such thing as a good president. Once upon a time maybe, but not for ages.

The system dictates they will never have the general populace's best interests in mind.

Eh I don't think it's impossible to elect someone with the best interests but only choosing between the already wealthy makes it difficult.

I agree, it is not impossible. But it won't happen with the way the system works.
