I'm looking for a suggestion for one PS1 RPG to play which meets all or most of the following criteria. I'll try to make the criteria as objective as possible.
1. No random battles
2. Little to no grinding. (I don't want to have the game come to a screeching halt because I have to run around picking fights in order to level up enough to finish the game. Not running from battles should be sufficient enough).
3. Automatically updates your stats. Doesn't require a ton of micro-management / tinkering with the characters. I don't want to spend half the game in the menu.
4. Has an "optimal equipment" option. (This goes hand in hand with #3.
5. The less amount of playable characters, the better (ideally less than 10)
6. Would prefer 3-D graphics over a top down 16-bit style RPG
7. Not Final Fantasy VII or VIII
8. Fairly short by RPG standards (around 25 hours or less)
9. Prefer turn based over action (except if you go through the game with one character the whole time, then I prefer action).
10. Not Vagrant Story
11. Not a strategy RPG
