Top 10 games of all retro consoles

Good afternoon everyone,

I am making a list of all the "relevant" consoles of all generations and also a top 10 of the most Epic games of each console.

I have 2 young kids of age 3 and i kinda want to do a gaming through the generations thing. Playing all top 10 games (Was planning on doing top 25 but i realised that it would take years xD) of all the consoles and perhaps even blog about it, seems like fun.

@irilthor: The scary part is that I played and owned all of this along the line. But I lost most of it by selling and breaking crap by accident over the years. I'd kill to have kept the collection.

We used to have the Amiga (my dad was a gamer too) and Atari with too many games to count.

My dad used to work in a gameshop and he got almost all games for free back then, so he could sell the games to visitors (gotta love the 80's)

And later when i grew up i had played some atari and amiga but don't really remember any game or names. But now that i am doing some research, i see some familiar games; like Bubble Bobble! I totally forgot about this title, but it was so awesome back then :D

Anyway when i was 4 or 5 we got a Sega with a lot of games. Then we also got the SNES with all mario's, final fantasies and sega.

Soo.... point is...

This was all kept in boxed in the attic when we were growing up.

So a few years ago i asked my dad about all the consoles, letting him know that i wanted them all.

So here's the scary part... he f*cking sold all the consoles and games + Accessories for only 50 euro's.

There was a: Sega saturn(?) i think it was called / Snes / Nes / Amiga Commodre / Atari 5600 or something like that. / playstation 1 with over 50 games each and evenmore than 100 games for the amiga and snes T_T

Now i'm playing everything on an emulator, i would like to buy all the consoles and games that we lost.. but it just feels wrong to buy stuff that we had for 10 times the price that we sold it for T_T and i'm not rich.. so..

@irilthor: Yeah, emulation is the fastest and cheapest way to go but it's kinda hard to retro game like that when you're not holding and using the original console in your hands. Know what I mean?

It is more expensive to buy but a couple of guys on YouTube made a really cool and fun adventure out of it. I've been thinking of trying it too. I like to call it: "retro game dumpster diving". I'm not talking about going to legit retailers, I'm talking garage sales, dusty flea markets of the like. I know a few around where I live and these people have NO IDEA what these games are worth! I saw an untouched box case of an original Killer Instinct on SNES for 30 dollars! This could easily sell for over 100 on Ebay or more! The damn thing even came with an mp3 cd of the soundtrack in real audio quality!

It'll definitely be a fun adventure gathering a collection like that. I got a first few couple: Spider-Man Maximum Carnage, Killer Instinct and Super Mario World but I got kinda lazy after a while and stopped. I'll get back to it eventually.

@killered3: i know what you mean. a friend of mine does that too and he sells it for big profits on Ebay. (only if he has doubles)
