Hands on with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood

With all the talk about Sonic Unleashed we can't forget that Sonic has another game coming out for the DS later this year, in his first RPG game, unlike Unleashed which is still questionable at this point, Chronicles is being made by a repurtable developer, Bioware (Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect) , so it hopefully won't be another rushed piece of Sonic Team garbage.

Anyway here's a hands on article talking about the game:

So it appears that it will control as Phantom Hourglass did in using the stylus to move Sonic and pals along and tapping on enemies to engage in battle. Also you use the stylus to do combined attacks depending on who's in your party.

If you still have doubts about Sonic and RPG gelling together, trust me. If anyone could do it, it would be Bioware.

I loved Elite Beat Agents but the spinning thing was sort of a pain, but I had no problem with the stylus controls in PH, it's even a decent alternative for Animal Crossing: Wild World. I suggest investing in DS screen protectors. They run about $5.

Honestly it doesn't surprise me that Amy would find a new guy. Maybe she's not a stupid as we thought. She tried for years to get Sonic to like her and he kept turing her down acting like he wasn't interested in dating and what's he do? He starts flirting with a human girl (Sth06). If I was Amy I would've b*&$# slapped Elise, actually a catfight between Amy and Elise might have been entertaining. I asked Knuckles what he thought of Sonic dating a human girl instead of Amy..

"A hedgehog datin' a human! It's disgusting. Everyone wonders why I'm still single and it's because all the fine echina sisters, are datin' humans!" (yes, I stole that from Futurama).

So I think Amy finally realized "hey, Sonic's not interested in going out with me. It's time for me to move on with my life and find someone who does." Then of course when Sonic realizes that Amy has gotten over him and met someone new, he'll get jealous. It's an old cliche that a lot of shows and stories have done.

Apparently it has the Mass Effect dialogue system (multiple choices) and a romance sub-plot.

The first one's cool, I hope that happens. The second one? Hell no. If I don't want to see the side of an alien's boob, I don't want to see the side of a hedgehog's.

I doubt we'll see any hedgehog boobs, however this romantic subplot might involve Sonic and Amy as Spikey mentioned, Amy found a new boyfriend and Sonic gets jealous, after all, you don't know what you got till it's gone and perhaps, Sonic's trying to win Amy back.

Emeralds surround Sonic as Elise wishes to bring him back to life. She says "I wish to talk with Sonic once more." She leans down and kisses him on the lips. (Sonic fans everywhere who aren't furries loose their lunch) but then Amy runs up...

"YOU HUSSEY! GET YOUR FILTHY LIPS OFF MY MAN YOU HO!"

Elise: "Maybe Sonic likes me better because I'm not a clingy b****!"

Shadow (whispers to Knuckles): This is gonna be good.

Amy slaps Elise across the face. Elise grabs Amy's hair and the two begin the wrestle on the ground, yelling and shouting obscenities at each other, tearing clothes and getting into an old school Dynasty catfight minus the pool. Meanwhile Sonic's body continues to be suspended in mid air surrounded by the emeralds. The others just watch afraid to get involved.

Silver: Uh girls? Uh, excuse me?

Rouge: Let it go Silver, they're not going to stop.

Eggman: Well, that's it. The world's going to end. I was always hoping it would've been my doing.

The End.
