But as I said before they better do a better job porting it than they did with Sonic Adventure like reformatting for widescreen (if Banjo Kazooie can do it, then so can SA2) and NOT making us pay extra for the "Battle" extras especially if it's the Gamecube version their porting.
Also they better bring it to PSN.
If it doesn't come to PSN...
Then I'll laugh at my friend over psn who was waiting for SA2 to come.Battle mode needs online though.
Let's just hope it does better than Adventure DX.chocolate1325
I've said this before but here's my suggestions as to how to improve this port.
1) Widescreen support: I have Sonic 2 on PSN and it's reformatted for widescreen and I hated playing SA with blue bars on the side. Plenty of games have done it. It's not hard.
2) DO NOT CHARGE US EXTRA FOR "BATTLE" stuff. If there was something that pissed off everyone about SA on XBL/PSN was the fact that despite it being the GC/PC version it made you pay extra for the measly extras and lets face it, DX's extras aren't worth it except for being able to unlock and play stages as Metal Sonic. SA2B's extras are a bit better with a 2 player mode and Chao Karate. And remember Sega, you can get SA2B used for the GC for $9.99 that can be played on a Wii, give players a reason to download this.
3) Online Play: SA2B has multiplayer stuff like 2 player mode and the somewhat forgettable racing mode but at least give players the option to play these online with friends. I've also said having online Chao trading would really make it novel though that might be harder to implement.
4) Fix some issues: I don't totally want everything revamped and I know nothing's going to fix how much the Knuckles/Rouge levels drag on but when you see Super Mario 64 DS, and Ocarina of Time 3D go back and fix major issues same with Banjo Kazooie fixing the "lose Jinjos and notes when you die" issue, SA2 should go in and fix some of the camera and glitch issues.
oh please, please say it's true :3
i want it >:3
probably some ideas for dlc's:
-shadow costume (boys)
-rouge costume (girls)
-Shadow plushie
-Sonic plushie
-A picture pack (with all characters like they are looking on the official cartboard?)
sonic adventure DX had awards, like sonic shoes and sonic shirt.
Sonic adventure 2 probably shadow skates/shadow shirt?
Hence, why owning all three consoles gives you an advantage over everyone else.Soniczero1993When it comes to stuff like this the real advantage comes from owning old consoles. I still have my Gamecube copy of Adventure 2 so owning the X-box live version would be meaningless.
According to a blog posted byLarry Hyrb (aka Major Nelson), there will be Sonic Adventure 2 Avatar Items released on June 5th.
Sometime later, it was removed.
I really hope it does !!!
Sonic Adventure 2 is a really fun game overall and I would love to play it over again on my Xbox 360.
Sonic Adventure 2 Confirmed For XBox Live Marketpl...
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle HD will be released on October 3rd.
Press Release 16th July, 2012LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO? 16th Jul, 2012 ? "In a totally unexpected, surprise announcement at the 2012 Sonic Boom community fan-fest during San Diego Comic-Con, SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. have officially announced the upcoming HD remake of legendary Dreamcast title Sonic Adventure 2? for PlayStation®Network and Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.
The game that first introduced the world to Sonic?s darker counterpart, Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Adventure 2 has players exploring two unique storylines from the perspectives of both long time heroes and new and returning villains in a battle for the fate of the world. First released in 2001 and hailed as one of the last great Dreamcast releases, this unmissable Sonic story will feature high-definition graphics, leaderboards, achievement/trophy support, and more when it hits consoles later this year."
There's several great games being released on the XBLA and PSN services. Along with SA2, they're finally releasing Nights: Into Dreams HD, as well as Okami HDand FINALLY Psychonauts is coming to PSN, which all need to be played if you didn't the first time around. Personally I'm excited for Nights. I played the Wii game but not the Saturn.
Now come on Sega, if Nights on the "hard to emulate" Saturn can make it to the download, then Knuckles Chaotix can do the same.
However now I'm wondering if Sega is going to rerelease post Dreamcast games on the download services. Sonic Advance series is on the DSware shops but is anyone wondering if Sonic Heroes going to see an HD rerelease? If so they sure as hell better port the GC version not the buggy PS2 version.
Ok, so like with Sonic Adventure, for Sonic Adventure 2, it will have the Sonic Adventure 2: Battle layouts but you have to download the actual Battle content as DLC.
Also, the Big the Cat cameos will happen automatically for all cutscenes.
Because Sega wants money and someone on Sonic Team likes Big the Cat and continues to put him in things just to troll us. Like the Secret Rings photo album, putting him the racing game as opposed to Nights, Blaze, Gillus, Toejam and Earl and anyone else. Basically despite all our complaints about the piss poor job and ripoff they did with Sonic Adventure in HD, they're still going to pull the same crap.
What, exactly, is the "battle" content? Chao Karate?Ok, so like with Sonic Adventure, for Sonic Adventure 2, it will have the Sonic Adventure 2: Battle layouts but you have to download the actual Battle content as DLC.

I'm assuming to Platinum this game you need to get all A ranks.
I guess it's time for me to go rolling around at the speed of sound, once again.
From the SEGA Blogs:
''One of the questions we get asked most often lately is when the HD remakes of both NiGHTS into dreams and Sonic Adventure 2 will be coming out. Today, I have an answer! Both games will be available for digital download this October.
On the PlayStation Network, NiGHTS and Sonic Adventure 2 will be available on October 2 for $9.99 USD, and available October 5 for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360.
Sonic fans will also be able to enhance their Sonic Adventure 2 experience with Battle Mode DLC for an additional $3.00 / 240 Microsoft Points. Battle Mode includes more maps and characters from the beloved Gamecube version of the title, including everyones favorite mode: Chao Karate.
As an added bonus for NiGHTS into dreams, players who buy the title will receive free access to the dreams from the original 1996 holiday-themed expansion, Christmas NiGHTS - previously only available through a Saturn holiday bundle or from special game and magazine promotions.''
Well I downloaded the demo which is the City Escape level of course and it's really weird going back to a Dreamcast era game after playing the hell out of Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Mainly a desire to boost and remembering I can't. Also the controls feel I don't know..weird now, maybe it's the PS3 controller plus I just don't have a strong desire to return to this game. I downloaded the original Sonic Adventure when I still had the 360 mainly because I never fully finished that game as the first time I just rented it. I may eventually download the game though there's other stuff I'm playing right now and I just downloaded Nights: Into Dreams which I haven't played but have been dying too.
Plus I've said before I've never been in love with either Adventure game the way some fans are. In terms of non Genesis titles I'd much rather play Generations and Colors now.
NiGHTS has aged way better than either of the two Adventure games. It's unfortunately short, and the boss fights are obnoxious, but it is so much fun to Score Attack you don't even know. Trying to squeeze that one last lap in before moving onto the next segment is exhilerating, especially when you pull it off with less than a second to spare. Also, it has a boost button ;) The one thing that has aged well, though, is the Chao Garden system. That thing is still awesome, and I haven't seen anything quite like it since. (Fun fact: The Chao garden is based on the A-Life system in NiGHTS, where as you play levels repeatedly the nightopians grow and evolve based on how and when you kill enemies in your runs)Well I downloaded the demo which is the City Escape level of course and it's really weird going back to a Dreamcast era game after playing the hell out of Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations. Yeah and Nights isn't nickel and diming you for extra content. Remastered visuals (not just an HD coat of paint) and the Christmas Nights bonus all in one package.
Seriously Sega, everyone was annoyed at your "SADX DLC" you tried to pull when we all knew the version that was uploaded was the DX version and you just locked out the extra content and you're STILL pulling that crap with SA2's Battle content? If you're going to make me shell out for DLC, why not get off your butts and get us some Sonic Generations DLC or Knuckles Chaotix!!?? And yes I'm going to keep on ranting about it until they make it happen because Mass Effect 3 taught me that if you whine and complain and throw a big enough fit, game companies will cave to your demands. Right ME3 fans??
