I just looked at the related games for this union and why was Sonic '06 related to this union it should be related to the crap union.
sorry for the inactiveness I have been doing I will be more active now kk :P

Every time I try and make a change to the associations, nothing happens. Union system's been hosed forever, you know.Well, I have been asking phc for some time to relate the new racing game and new Mario and Sonic to the union, which has yet to be done. :P
But in all actuality I think it's because it was a recent release. ;)

It is a Sonic game I would say there aren't to many good ones recently.chocolate1325I guess Unleashed was good besides the werehog lvls
Again this games not as bad as people say. Every one looks at the bad points of this game but none of the good. It has a great story line cool characters nice graphics. I admit there are alot of bugs in th game but compare it to about the 60% trash of games on the 360 this game looks like a masterpiece.BocoeI have never played it but It looks crap on the vids

Great storyline? Yeah if you're a furry and like beastiality. Not to mention the plot holes big enough to run a mack truck through.
And here's our official Sonicspot review: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/read_article.php?topic_id=26662141&union_id=4363
And for those wondering about the afformentioned plotholes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6X4k4h0Hbns&feature=related
Yes I know. "Silver didn't let Blaze die. She was teleported to the world she existed in SRA." and "Amy has a hammer which is TOTALLY effective against a telepatic hedgehog."

kbaily... let it go. I know users are going to disagree with you. And even if you feel like taking a baseball bat to them, it's best to just remember it's their opinion, and to not jump them. ;)
Sorry if you tok offense to that. I mean I'm on your side with the whole Sonic 2006 sucking part, but jumping on anyone's opinion isn't gonna change their opinion. It'll only scare them away. :P
To be honest though, that game did have one of the worst stories in all of gaming, let alone Sonic games, in my opinion. IN MY OPINION (so as not to state anything I say is fact), a human-hedgehog romance sends chills down the spine, and the entire Solaris thing is a huge Final Fantasy ripoff. Actually, playing most of the levels in Sonic 2006, I recognized that you could place their settings in a Final Fantasy background and they'd fit better.
You know you suck as a developer when you make a game and it turns out that game would've been better as something ELSE.
Again, I'm only stating my opinion and now you may make a counterarguement if you have one.
I think when it comes down to it, Sonic 06 isn't a terrible game, it's average, but because this is Sonic we're talking about then we expect a whole lot more.loopy_101
I disagree. I found the game sub-par on all levels. I never judge a game in comparison to the rest of its series; Sonic Next-Gen fails in on all levels in relation to its series and on its own legs. It's in no way one of the worst games of all time but it's still terrible.

So you're saying the graphics and sound sucked? I found them to be quite impressive. Gameplay elements such as Silver's telekinesis and Shadow's vehicles were interesting ideas - just not executed very well.Â

I was unimpressed with the graphics. The cutscenes had an interesting cinematic flair but the in-game engine was borderline terrible. The framerate chugged and the actual visuals themself were lackluster considering the hardware that the game was running on, I've seen better looking games on my 6 year old Xbox. What really got on my nerves about the graphics though was the atrocious artstyle. It's like watching Square-Enix make a Lord of the Rings crossover with Barney the Dinosaur; everytime you think your about to take the game seriously, your reminded that its about a cartoony blue anthropomorphic hedgehog, who within the context of this story, could have been mistaken for an X-men mutant. For all of their minor positives, nothing about the visuals stay coherent.
As for the Soundtrack, it wasn't bad, just forgettable. The only song I actually liked in it was 'His World' but by the time you finish the game, they beat you over the head with it so many times and in so many versions that I never wanted to hear it again once I finished the game.
And Silver is something I just want to forget. Every game that he touches dies. His telekinesis did have some potential but overall it was just an unnecessary addition to a game that derailed itself in less than 20 minutes. Just my opinion.

Whatever. The frame-rate was awful but the actual graphics were solid.

The graphics were only nice in the actual levels. The town environments were sloppy and bland. Plus on a technical level the game looks sloppy and unfinished and anyone who denies this is a MORON! Buildings pop in and out the framerate skips and chugs, the camera spazes out in places and loading times are EVERYWHERE.
I like Sonic but I played the game and it's a sloppy, glitchy mess. Yes, all games have glitches but it's sloppy and shows poor workman ship and let me remind you
The developers flat out admitted that the game was unfinished because they were forced to meet the deadline of the PS3 launch and holiday season and had limited staff to develop for two consoles so if the developers thought Sonic 06 was sh-- who are you to argue?
Some of you noobs here, do me a favor and go read Blue Blur #51. "Are they serious?"

Although I didn't hate the game, I must admit the graphics are some of the worst I have ever seen on either the 360 or PS3. Something about the game just seemed really... flat-looking and last-gen to me.

The snow looked like a sheet of iridescent fabric but there are those that see the shiny, HD which seems to make any turd sparkle. Look at all those launch 360 titles that barely looked like an upgrade but everyone was like "the HD makes it look so crisp and clean." I suggest playing Sonic Next Gen on an old TV and the gaping scars are no longer protected by the glossy HD cover.

Woah, woah woah! I never meant it was a great game or anything. I gave it a very average score when I reviewed it myself.

I have an HD TV that I play all of my 360 games on and I can tell you right now it still doesn't even make the game look decent. Secret Rings for the damn Wii looked better than this game running in a high def setting.
I think we have to remember also that this was a 360 game of 2006. If you compared a 360 game from then to now there is a major difference in the visual quality. I'm going to be honest, when I first saw Sonic 06', even at release, I thought it looked fantastic. Bugs aside, it was a great looking game.
However, looks can be deceiving....

Yeah but comparing it to other stuff that came out for the 360 that year like say...Gears of War or Viva Pinata. It looks like crap. Get over it. Sonic 2006 was a big steaming turd and even the game developers admitted it.

No. It would be different if I was comparing a Wii game to a 360 but not a 360 game to another 360 game.
CAN WE PLEASE DROP IT ALREADY?!
Kameo: Elements of Power, Condemned: Criminal Origins, Dead or Alive 4, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.
Those are 4 games that came out around the launch of the 360 that looked well over 2x better than Sonic Next-Gen. Nobody expected anything on a level of Mass Effect or Bioshock but Sega still has no excuse for giving us what we got.

Disagree, Disagree, Disagree and agreeÂ
Mass Effect and Bioshock were released in 2007, not 2006, and again were the best looking games of that year.
Â
Regardless, neither of you are going to change my mind. It was a disappointing game, that's the key thing we all agree on. Whether it completely sucked to the levels of Superman 64 or was barely average is where we differ in our views.

That's the point. Nobody expected the best visuals of the generation, just decency and that wasn't met.
