I think most on here will take Ali, but I will go with Tyson. It would mostly likely be a good fight though if it could happen. Luckily enough, Fight Night 4 will make it possible for us to create that matchup.

That's a tuff one. You got a young Tyson with lots of power in his punches vs. a young Ali with a good amount of power in his punches but has insane speed. It tuff because I don't know if Ali could last with the body shots he would take. But on the other hand I don't know if Tyson could take the flurries of punches to the face and body. I'll have to go with Ali.

yeah, I'll go with Ali as well. Ali's gotta have the technique advantage and i think he's a smarter fighter. That said, i think the war of words leading up the fight would be almost as good as the fight itself.

Ali took shots from Foreman and Frazier and those two have twice as much power as tyson. Even though Tyson is quicker then those two I have to give the edge to Ali for his speed and his will to last through long fights

The kind of torque that Tyson generated in his punches was scary. Sure he was smaller than Frazier and Foreman, but I don't think it matters. In the first fight I think Tyson would take Ali. Over a series though, I'd go with Ali. He would adapt well in the next fight.

I would like to see Tyson win, but I think Ali speed gets him the win.

I wasn't alive when either of them was in their prime so I'd have to go with Tyson. :P

The reason why I chose Tyson was because Tyson had the aura and mystique surrounding him in his prime. Ali is in general, the greatest boxer of all-time, but Tyson when he was young was a headhunter. He was quick(not as fast as Ali), powerful, and had this aura surrounding him where he would beat his opponents before they stepped into the ring. This is the same mystique and aura in my eyes as Jordan is to basketball, Gretzky is to hockey, Ruth is to baseball, Fedor is to MMA, and Pele is to soccer.

Tyson. He's a complete animal in his prime. He's imo virtually unbeatable. But if it was like the best out of 10 matches, I'd give a slight edge to Ali cause he's most likely the smartest boxer of all-time. I

twice as strong? lol I dont think so.

It depends if Tyson could catch him with a good one early. If not Ali might be able to out last him

Their styles are so contrasting I think its impossible to really out a definative answer down. I mean Tyson speed, manouverability in the ring and power was absoloutely second to none - just watch his early traiing movies his side to side movement is incredible - watch it then try it yourself - thats when you realise what incredible conditioning Cus D'Amato had Tyson in. But the fact is - they dont just turn up and slug it out - 3 months prep and that is where Ali has the edge - nobody prepared for fights aswell as Ali - in terms of being able to execute gameplans - its a tough call - but Id have to go for Ali to edge it

I would have to say Tyson, cause in his prime he had the condititioning to go into the deep 12 round, and his mind of clear of any women that were controlling his life (Robin Givens) so he would be able to box freely,

but aside from that

i think Tysons head movement is amazing, he could probably slip Alis Jab numerous amount of times, and for sure Ali could not Rope a Dope on Tyson,

Tyson also has really good spped for a heavyweight along with ali, Tyson also has a laser jab, and very pin point punches, it would be a good fight, liek on person said i think Tyson could win the first fight then ali would win the 2 after, but who knows, its really hard to compare they are both great fighters, but personally i would favor tyson

Tyson always had problems getting past round 3. Anything past that, he would become lazy, impatient, careless. In his young prime, he'd always go for the 1st round knockout. He wasn't a boxer, more of a brawler. He wouldn't have the stamina to last with Ali. Ali would have epic battles up to 15 rounds. He had the rope-a-dope and the speed. Ali, no question.

I'll take Ali, but not for the reasons you listed. I think Ali would be just too smart for Tyson.

i agree with you but he wouldnt be able to rope a dope with tyson, and tyson has gone the distance, but it definently wasnt impressive, but he did win

I have argued this with lots of people, and I always say Tyson. I'll agree to Ali winning the next one though but Tyson in my mind would knock Ali out.
