He asked to leave and they let him go.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/10306894/Iverson-leaves-Grizzlies-with-permission

But....

Coach George Karl said that AI may come to Denver again IF, and it's a big IF, Ty Lawson gets injured.

http://nba.fanhouse.com/2009/11/17/allen-iverson-back-to-denver-karl-says-it-could-happen/

It's just a possibility but nothing set in stone.

Quitter. The one word I'd used to describe AI besides selfish. These are the reasons I can't stand the guy. Gary Payton(Who is a better player, btw, then Allen ever was) even came off the bench to help his team compete. AI only cares about his self.

Selfish I can understand, but quitter? He carried the 76ers for 10 years and brought them to the finals one year, is a MVP, scoring leader for four seasons, and he is a quitter for leaving a team that obviously isn't going to accomplish what he wants? Yeah, right. Coming off the Memphis bench isn't going to win AI a championship, and that is what he wants.

I honestly don't think AI wants to win a championship. If he did, he'd sign with a contender and be a sixth man. Too bad it's all about him. Why do you think no contenders showed any interest in him whatsoever? The dude is a terrible teammate and he's selfish. And he QUIT on this team, 2 weeks into a season, just like he quit on the Pistons last year. He is a quitter.

Iverson is like the worst scoring leader of all time lol.

Here's my thoughts on AI:

He is definitely one of the best small guards to ever play the game. Only Isaiah Thomas can be considered better, IMO, because of the rings. But still, AI is great and a hall of famer for sure.

But that's the problem. He's so good and can be a great team leader or point guard IF he wanted to. He has the talent, skills, the ability, the wisdom, and everything that can make up a great leader or roll player on a any championship team! Seriously, he can be a great point guard. I'm sure he's got the skills to be one.

He has a few years still left in him to make an impact! Why doesn't he do what Payton tried to do at the end of his career and win a ring before he retires?

But he doesn't want to do this. He still wants to be "Me, Myself, and A-I!"And look what it's doing to him? He's thinking about retiring now, without a ring!

I don't understand this. He has the talent and wisdom to be a great team player. But he doesn't want to be. I mean, at his age he can do this! Why doesn't he want to?

Makes no sense to me.

This is all because he can't come to grasp that he is slightly pass his prime. He needs to realize that he has to come off the bench. Ain't nothing wrong with that, Stackhouse did it and Jason Terry. He can be a great 6th man, but he needs to suck it up and stop complaining. A.I. is worse than Terrell Owens if you ask me. At least T.O. shows up and what not, A.I is turning out to be the most selfish basketball player of all time in my books.

I think it is best for both parties. AI doesn't want to be there and Memphis needs to let their young guys get some minutes and increase their talent. Now if AI would sign up with the Lakers or Celtics then it would get interesting, realllllllll interestinggggg.

I wouldn't mind if the Lakers signed him as a scoring option off the bench, but he's made it clear that he doesn't want to be in that role, even for a good team. So screw him. We could use the help off the bench but I'd rather the Lakers pursue someone like Jerry Stackhouse if the bench keeps playing terrible(Which I don't expect, they should be fine when Pau gets back and Lamar goes back to being the stabilizing presence of the second unit)

This is good. A future Hall of Famer in his last few years does not belong on a terrible team. He could definitely help Kobe Bryant in L.A. or LeBron in Cleveland

IF he's willing and willing to come off the bench if he needs to without complaining about it.

Then yeah, I'm sure any team would take him if that were the case.

Some team will take him 100 % But needs to know he might be a 6th man. He over 30 and plays like a running back. His body is banged up. In his PRIME He has some sick game records. 1 being steals if I am correct !

He just doesn't have it anymore. Last year he was the 4th best guard on a less than .500 team with a 3 guard rotation, thats why he was put on IR. He is only good enough to ride the pine and if he isnot happy with that he needs to retire.
