I don't know if he's the best but he's the best at being able to change a game.
He's got Hesterlike (yes I made that word lol) ability to help his team any single time he's on the field.
He does get exploited sometimes but a lot of that is because he's young. Give him another season or two and if he keeps this explosiveness he'll be undoubtedly the best corner in the NFL.
You have to remember how raw he is. He's only started 1 quarter of the games he's played in.
Bailey had an off year b/c of his pass rush. I'd take a healthy Bailey with Cromartie's pass rush over anybody in football.manningbowl135
I agree, Bailey's still the best corner in the game. Given Cromartie's performance in his first year, however, he might be the best by the end of next season. Chargers are incredibly stacked on D.
I'll still take Bailey. I have to see if Cromartie can play this consistently season to season.
Remember guys, Delth O'Neal had a great year 2 years ago & he dissapeared... Don't crown him after one good year.
Cromartie is obviously a gifted corner with a knack for making plays on the ball, but he only has two seasons under his belt. Off the top of my head, each of the following corners has proven himself over a longer period of time as a superb DB:
Champ Bailey, Nate Clements, Ronde Barber, Rashean Mathis, Antoine Winfield.
Check the stats and you'll see solid, consistent performances over the years.
