Sports Illustrated reports that Alex Rodriguez tested positive for 2 anabolic steroids in 2003, the year he won MVP.
This is exactly why I really don't like pro baseball. No one is clean.
What do you think about this?

this is definitely one of the last things the MLB would want to get out to the public. A-Rod was always hyped up to the one who would break Bond's home run record "the right way."
A-Rod's legacy is taking hit after hit with his poor performance in the playoffs, the Madonna affair, the Torre book, and now this huge story.
woah that's shocking i didn't know that... btw did manny sign with the dogers yet or is he a free agent still
What bothers me more is that baseball knew this happened but kept it sealed.
You can't blame the players if the sport condones this sort of thing.
I used to be against the players so much and now that I've watched the whole thing transpire over the decade I see that baseball likes this. They don't care what happens as long as the numbers keep coming. Baseball knew he failed and they knew he was MVP but do they take the MVP award away? Nope
They just seal his record and be done with it
They didn't take Giambi's MVP award away either after he admitted to taking steroids his MVP year. Which is disgusting because the award would haveWhat bothers me more is that baseball knew this happened but kept it sealed.

Jaysonguy
(and should have) gone to Frank Thomas. It would have given him 3 which would have put him in very elite company

you dont even know if Thomas juiced either though. In 2003 alone there were 104 sealed names never to be released....Only Arods got out.

there are 102 unknown names that tested positive in 03 thats huge. Big Papi blew up, Albert Pujols,Nomar hit 28 that year if MLB were to release those names imo baseball will forever be over. NetYankEagleGood point. I don't think Ster-Rod is the only superstar player out of those 104 players who used steroids....
I would love to see who else is on this list. Do not be surprised if guys like Griffey, Pujols, Big Papa, and others show up. jfcundiff
Are you kidding about Griffey?
He's been injured for the last decade. Steroids are meant to help the body recover and come back from injuries.
If anyone in MLB could take steroids and NOT be looked down upon it's Griffey

actually, people using steroids are hampered with injuries

I really hope not. He's baseball's only hope to save us from Bonds' HR record.
I hope not either, but given all the names that are coming out I would not be surprised. Imagine if a guy like Griffey or Ripken Jr. was mentioned to have used steriods. The image of the sport would sink to a new low. Even the "good guys" in baseball might have something to hide that the public does not know about just yet.[QUOTE="jfcundiff"]I would love to see who else is on this list. I was hoping the same for A-Rod. It would have been nice to have a clean name at the top of that list...You can't trust anyone in MLB.
As a Bonds fan......this is hilarious
The media hypocrites better crucify A-Rod just like they did Barry.

Oh man I hope Pujols' name is not released. As a huge fan of his I would probably cry. I would love to see his clean name one day reign at the top of the all-time home-run list. I personally don't think he has used steroids but my intuition means nothing in the scheme of things. For all we know anyone could have used steroids.
That being said I do think that the other 103 names should be released. It's not fair to single out A-Rod (or A-Roid if you so please) like this when 103 other people are guilty of the exact same thing.
It's so unfair that A-Rod is the only one of the 104 names to be released. Now we need to know the other 103.guitarman89Excactly! Why didn't whoever leaked this only choose one person? Sure A-Rod is the biggest story that could break, but whoever did this could have released several other large names, to say the least. If A-Rod has been exposed then everyone else MUST be exposed. We as baseball fans must stand up and demand that we know who has used teroids. Tickets, Jerseys, and other memorabilia are far to expensive for us to be kept in the dark. Baseball is overall a very financially sound sport. As fans we have done our part, and we demand answers. I know I want those 103 other players names. Now.
They sure as hell better. This is a sad day for me. I've been a fan of A-Rod due to the fact that I used to be a huge Mariners fan in the mid 90s. Hearing this just sickens me. Baseball is in horrible shape. As a Bonds fan......this is hilarious

Yes I do. If you follow baseball you would know that Thomas has been, by far, the player that has gone against the use of steroids the most. He was the ONLY player to allow himself to be interviewed for the mitchell report. Furthermore he had no years where he performance was freakishly better than his previous ones.
Its sad, I mean I'm a Mets fan but like A-Rod I'm Dominican. I grew up looking up to all these dominican players and I know for them usually its natural power but I hope the others don't make this same mistake....Manny,big papi,Pujols,Hanley,Vlady, and Reyes.SonicBallaIm sure I can trust Reyes but the rest you mentioned, nope.
There's only one way to solve baseball's problems with steroids.
Have two different leagues.
One being the league where no drugs are allowed AT ALL! And, baseball can be played on its purest level, next to Little League and Babe Ruth leagues, lol.
Second being the league where you're allowed to take any enhancing drug that you want to. Hey, who cares if you only live to be 45 years old? At least, you can benchpress 750 lbs and hit 113 homeruns in one season. ATTABOY!
:D
Not surprised, I knew he was on it. He will never be a true yankee. CleanPlayerand your 100% sure pappy wasnt on the juice?

I agree, this is the best idea I've heard in years. Ster-rod, A-roid, A-fraud ....what else? Keep 'em coming!
[QUOTE="CleanPlayer"]Not surprised, I knew he was on it. He will never be a true yankee. NetYankEagleand your 100% sure pappy wasnt on the juice?we dont know if david ortiz was on the juice or not but thats not what matters right now, "ster rods" name got out, thats all we know...for now
if i was a yankee fan right now i probably would be screaming "what about (insert player here)? he could've been using steroids "
that being said, as a baseball fan i do think its BS that out of 100+ names on a list of users only ster rods name got out, but as a red sox fan im loving it
i demand to know who's on that list! screw confidentiality
