I figure if you're part owner you play where you want to play ;)

"I'm pitching today."

"What? You've never pitched before..."

-owner's stare-

"Um, never mind. "

Who else is going to fork over 30 million a year and not even blink an eye? Yankees. He's staying unless some stupid club promises a 40 million or something crazy.

I don't know if the article is true or not, but as I read the article he's not talking to an owner. Just someone who might end up being the Cubs owner at a later date.

if A-rod wants Bond's HR record he should stay in the Bronx or some other HR friendly park and make sure they have someone to bat with him (unlike Vlad who has no1). I wouldnt be surprised if Boras is doing this to have some leverage with the Yankees.

Since when has Scott Boras bent the rules?

I'm going to say "go random team" now so that people think my post has content.

This whole situation is very murky, legally speaking. Boras isn't talking to the current ownership, he's talking to prospective buyers since the Tribune company is selling the team. It might seem like a waste of effort to talk to people who might not even be owning the team, but that's before you realize he's probably just doing this to create a media event to scare up the Yankees into offering an extension. The man is a snake, but he's great at his job.

Major League Baseballs office responded with a resounding remark stating that this can not happen as it is against league rules for a player to have ANY KIND of NEGOTIATIONS that would involve any kind of part ownership or future ownership of ANY team. This is a false rumor.

I wouldn't be suprised to see him in Boston next season, with lowell's contaact up this season we have 3rd base open. I'm willing to bet that lowell will want a 4 year deal and the sox will not want to give him one so he will move on to another team and get his 4 year deal. I would be happy to see a-rod on out team.

The yankee's won't have the money to pay him that much seeing as they have ALOT of work to do on their pitching staff, as in a total revamp.

All I know is that baseball players are way overpaid, no one deserves 25 million+ per year. Except for maybe Jesus, and even then its iffy.

Supply and Demand.

Not that many people can do what an A-Rod or a Josh Beckett can do. They get paid what they deserve considering how much the ownership makes off the Franchise.

Doesn't mean they deserve it. I mean I think hockey players are overpaid and I think the max salary is somewhere in the 9-10 million dollar range.

The Yankees are right now paying 15mil or something for A-Rod because the Rangers are still paying part of his salary that means that if A-Rod were to opt out the Yankees would have to pay him possibly 20 million more which even for the Yankees is a lot of money.
