He was wanted by a lot of teams simply because of his last name. He's also got a pretty decent build being almost 6 and a half feet tall and clocking in around the 225-230 range.
He didn't blossom as quickly as his brother and picked a smaller school to play but still ended up in the NFL.
I think he's a work in progress and could turn out to be a very good QB in a few years.
Don't listen to that "His brother pulled strings" argument. Carson has gone on record many times in the last year saying that he wants the Bengals to do whatever they need to do to get better. He wouldn't go out and try to get his brother a job because he knows the media would be all over it in an instant.
We picked him up 6th round last year. He's... nothing like his brother. The offense they ran at UTEP was admittedly simple and he threw for more INTs than TDs. Skins cut him at camp before the season, didn't make the team. I was hoping we could have developed him... I wouldn't say it's a great pickup but it might be a good investment down the road as a backup.
