I would have too say Kobe BryantMOM-D

Kobe Bryant is a great player and all but I dont like how he gives up on plays sometimes. When I was watching the Lakers vs Heat game and Wade stripped the ball from Kobe a couple of times and then Kobe would just stand there and stare at the Ref while Wade went in transition for the easy score. Or when I watched the Lakers vs. Cavs game last Sunday and Kobe bricked a shot and there was still a few seconds left on the clock before halftime and again he just stood there while the guy he was suppose to be guarding ran in transition and got a pass for the easy dunk to end the half.

You're kidding me right? Some centers in the league have a better FT % than James.

Wade on the other hand, you can make a case for since he does play good (not great) defense and he's an offensive threat.

Whats your definition of "best"?

He scores, he passes, he rebounds, he leads his team. Will take that over most others in the league.

What about defense? Making atleast 75% of your free throws?

I'll take Kobe, Duncan, Wade, Garnett, Bosh, McGrady (when healthy), Kidd and some more before I would take Lebron, yet.

Good, leaves Lebron for me. I was down on him when he first came in the league, but he continues to impress me in the regular season and in the playoffs last season.

Steve Nash's ability to make every other player on the floor with him better makes him the best player in the league.

Most talented player in the league is Kobe.

i consider yao ming as the best nba player, just because there is no dominant centers in the league other than him, but that's more like the most valuable so...i say wade or kobe or lebron. these three can do almost anything from defending to scoreing to assisting.

gentlemen gentlemen....

its kobe or nash plain and simple

it cant be wade or lebron, they havent done anything yet - sure wade has won a championship, but kobe has 3 rings. wade and lebron are the future, but they are not comparable to what kobe has done. his rings or his stats. kobe averaged 35 ppg last year in like his 10th season, lebron is already starting to slack off and wade is just an overrated circus shot highlight reel who is incredible at finishing around the basket.

now for "best player" like people said before, what is your definition. if i had one player to start a team with, i would choose nash, but i beleive kobe is the most individually talented player in the game. offence and defence. it's kobe without question. still, i've always felt had steve nash taken 28 shots per game like kobe does, nash would average 35 per game as well. nash is without question the most efficient player in the game, and is going to win his third straight MVP this year.

these numbers are unheard of:

20 points per game
12 assists per game
90% free throw shooter (one of the best all time free throw shooters)
50% three point shooting (one of the best all time three shooters)
52% from the field

lets not forget, compared to the other gorillas out there, nash is small by comparison. at only 6'3 195 lbs, in my

esteemed opinion he is the best at the game. maybe not the best scorer, but theres more to it than that.

you do realize that kobe did absolutely NOTHING in the finals. shaq was the one that got three rings for kobe. also, he has never won a NBA Finals MVP while other nba greats like duncan and jordan have won MVP everytime their team won the finals. However, i agree that he is playing much better than lebron or wade. Wade got overrated as soon as he helped heat win a championship. Most talented player? Lebron James, he has yet to show what he can do. he's physically more gifted than kobe is. i also agree with nash that he has drastically improved, but my only problem with is that why couldn't he do that in dallas where he was surrounded by all-star talents, leading me to believe that nash is only doing well because of the mike d'antoni's system.

did you know that the highest scoring team in each of the last 6 years had nash at point guard?

when nash was in dallas they were the highest scoring team. there are other factors, nash didnt win there, and

he hasnt won in phoenix yet either.

lol shaq did it all huh? obviously you dont watch much basketball because if you did you would remember how kobe contributed in getting the Lakers 3 rings from 00'-03'  im not saying he did it all for the Lakers but the combination of Shaq and kobe was unstoppable without kobe who knows what would have happened. I bet you think the Heat won the championship last year because of Shaq too  think again

No matter who Shaq play with, they will win NBA champ. Shaq + Kobe=Champ, Shaq + DWade=Champ. What if Shaq play with Lebron, T-mac, Iverson, or Vince; I bet they will all win.
Kobe is the best right now even though he don't know how to play team work.  D.Wade is great, he's fast, good handle, good passer, great finisher, but he can't shoot. D.Wade isoverrated. If Lebron play with Shaq, they will win NBA Champ. D.Wade just lucky that he won one before Shaq is out of gas.

Most talented player in the league is Kobe.

jcloverboy
That's some truth on both accounts right there. Duncan, Dirk and KG are probably the best big men in the league right now. There's plenty of up and comers though - Bron, Wade, CPaul, Yao, Amare, Howard and Bosh are closing the gap fast.

if the "best" player is determined by going 1-on-1 against one another, Shaq is still the best. Maybe KG or Duncan. Anyone else is just too small.

I would have to agree with mrgab. I would also throw Dirk into the mix because the guy is 7 ft tall and plays like a 2 guard! His D is also improving which makes him a big threat this year. I'll give it to LeBron though because he is a great team player and he is young (which means a lot of upside) but still can play with the best veterans (as the game the other day showed against Kobe).

how about Kevin Garnett? only talent on the Timberwolves and their in 8th place in the western confrence. If he was on a team like Golden state or the Lakers with at least one more star around him, he would be in the MVP talking, but he has no help on his team, at all.

^^^Gilbert talks himself up way too much and doesn't perform when he needs to..(Missing 2 ft's against cleveland in finals last year)..I think it's either KG(double-double every night), Kobe Or LBJ. I am bit biased towards LBJ.

imo you gotta do it by position

it isnt kobes job to pass around and create

your not gonna see shaq doing that either

best PG: Steve Nash
best SG: Kobe Bryant
best SF: Lebron James
best C: Yao Ming
best PF: Kevin Garnett
