Why do they even give them a job??? I dont get it....anybody else notice how bias some of these ESPN people are???

Merril Hodge - by far the worst....this guy HATES the Eagles, ive never seen anything like it...the year they went to the superbowl he predicted them going 2-14....and then when they made the superbowl he predicted the final score was gonna be 65-0....he also says that McNabb is one of the worse QB's in the league :?....I know he used to play for the eagles and maybe there was some bad blood between them....but damn...

Steve Phillips
- this guy has it out for the New York teams....he constantly puts down the Yankees or the Mets any time he can get...he was the GM for the Mets and maybe he doesnt like them but really, why make such dumb comments?? And, the guy hates Alex Rodriguez...all because he chose not to sign with the Mets a while back....just listen to him when he has to comment on A-Rod...its kind of ridiculous...

There are plenty of more but I dont feel like typing...ill edit this later...

But the 2 I mentioned are just ridiculous...I think they know how ridiculous they are but they just dont care..I dont know why they let people be so bias and pay them for it....its like having people from System Wars....

Anybody else notice this??

Simple solution: Change the channel. If you don't like someone, why do you take their punishment? I'm the same way for Skip Bayless. I wish that ignorant, hate-mongering joke of an analyst would retire as soon as possible. Since he hasn't, I refuse to watch First Take and 1st and 10.

No, Skip Bayliss hates Dallas. Ever since being fired from the local radio station here (which has become a major success without him), he's had some vandetta against Dallas. He said Troy Aikmanwasn't a HoF. Come on.

Mark May and Lou Holtz for college football. Overall they are solid but both of them should be forbidden to comment on anything to do w/ Notre Dame. No matter how good or bad they are Lou Holtz would pick them to beat the 95 nebraska cornhuskers. And Mark May is even worse. He hates on Notre Dame beyond belief. This guy would pick a team like Saint Francis of Pennsylvania to beat Notre Dame and trying to justify it by saying something like "well they play a 5 wide pass offense like texas tech and notre dame doesn't have the athletes in the secondary to cover all the receivers.I'll take St.Francis by 2 touchdowns". Get the hell outta here.

Agreed on Merrill Hodge. All he does is bash the Eagles for no reason sometimes. Even when he doesn't talk about other teams he seems very unintelligent. He's always getting schooled by Jaws.

I think Steve Phillips comments about the Mets were pretty accurate if you ask me. They're rotation is pretty weak and is vulnerable, especially if they're thinking Pedro is going to return to his dominant form again. That's highly unlikely considering the surgery he went through.

As for his comments about the Yankees, I disagree. He thinks the hitting will eventually slow down and will have to sooner or later rely on pitching. Well their pitching is improving and is not as bad as he makes it out tobe...

I could care less about the Eagles (Cowboys and Bears), but Meril Hodge's hating on Vince Young was just terrible.

wow. there were a few things that he said that really made him look a little silly. for one, for him to say that he can not avoid defenders? well, i'm a texans fan and i know first hand what vince's running abilities are. :( if anything that is vince's best feature, is his ability to run. then he said that he shouldn't have went in the first round, tell that to all of the upset texans' fans that wanted him so bad. besides, if the titans didn't snatch him up, i bet there were a lot of teams that would have been licking their lips at vince. this guys is a true hater. you don't become rookie of the year by being a no one. i'm not a vince young fan, but atleast i know when to credit where credit is due. vince young is not an all-pro right now, and who knows, he might never make it, but only time can tell. the only thing i can say, is that he's starting off on the right foot so far.

Lou Holtz is by far the worst thing on ESPN. The dude thinks ND is a title contender every year.

You' just found out that the media is biased? Bravo.. now explain to me how any person in this world is not partial in one way or the other? Do such people exsist? Probably, but less than .0001% of the world population.

Get over it. It's life.

GUYS ARE YOU FORGGETING THAT WE LIVE INUNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE LANDOF LIVERTY,PEOPLE DONT NEED TO LIKE EVERYBODY, PEOPLE DONT NEED TO SUCK UP TO ANYBODY IF THEY DONT WANT TO,SO IF SOME OF ESPN PEOPLE DONT LIKE DALLAS OR WATEVER THATS THEM ,+ THATAS WAT MAKES IT FUN ,HEARING PEOPLE DISCUSS SPORTS AND SEE DIFFERENT OPPINIONS ,NOT LISTENING TO PEOPLE SUCK UP TO OTHERSplayerlino

well, i don't think anyone was saying that they needed to suck up to anyone, it's just that some people go to great extents to put someone down, or degrade someone. if you don't like someone, that's perfectly fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but at least give credit where credit is due. i think that is the point we were trying to make.

Thats pretty much what Im saying....

I know some people are bias, but they dont get jobs and paid a ton to give their bias opinions on national TV....there are plenty of level headed non bias people on ESPN.....i just dont get why they let the fools like Merril Hodge on.....

Definately correct about Steve Phillips, ever since the Mets dumped him, he has been against them in every way it seems. He's a bit jealous that Omar is a better GM that he could ever be.

An announcer that puts down the Yankees? GOOD. Its not as bad as you put it. If they were to comentary on a game they have to put in pros and cons for each team. Maybe you see more negitive in him.

About the Yankees, every team slows down on hitting and relies on good pitching. He was saying how the Yankees have been hot at the bat(fact) and eventually will cool down when that happens the pitching wont have the run support they have now. The Colorado Rockies are a good example they will lose a match most the time if the hitting doesn't stay consistent.

Lou. ****ing. Holtz. Get rid of this guy, please! According to him Notre Dame wins every game, goes undefeated every year, and has won the national championship every year since the beginning of time! He even brings them up when he wasn't even asked about them. I don't have a serious problem with anybody else, but Holtz gets on my nerves. You know exactly what he's going to say before he says it.
