I usually think people talking about who's a bandwagon fan are wasting their time. However, my friend is the biggest bandwagon fan in the history of the world. He's from Seattle, yet his favorite teams are not Seahawks-Mariners-Sonics, but Colts-Yankees-Celtics. Can anyone else name a person who can even come close to being this much of a bandwagon fan?monkeytoes61
Yes, LeBron James. If I remember correctly he said he likes the Yankees-Cowboys-Bulls because of the 90's.

So let me get this right, because he is from Seattle, he has to or is obligated to like only pro teams from Seattle? This type of thinking is what I don't get. People have the right to like a team that isn't in their hometown. There's nothing wrong with that. You may call him a bandwagoner because he likes a team outside his hometown but he could be a true fan if his favorite team came to town to play in Seattle and he would rep his favorite team colors. Of course he would get a lot of heat but I would consider him a true fan.
Now if he changes his teams like he changes his clothes, then that's a different story altogether.

College Basketball UNC, College Football LSU, Florida, USC in the NBA Spurs and Celtics, and in NFL Colts and Patriots. Now that is a true bandwagon fan.

Nop, you don't choose your family or the team you root for either. Unless of course geographical abnormalities. Or least that's how it should be.

Let me be clear. If you are born in Dallas you should root for the Dallas Cowboys. If you are born in San Antonio then you should feel free to choose a team inside TEXAS, in the case of football.

I'm from Ohio and I'll be d--- if I ever root for the Browns or Bengals, though I do feel somewhat obligated to root for Ohio State. And since Detroit is closer to me than Cleveland is, I'm a Pistons fan. But I kinda agree, if you were born and raised in said city, and that team is how you identify with that sport, then you should ride with that team.

I've always been a spurs fan. Same with Angels and eagles. ;)

What kind of nonsense is that? Are these rules that exist where you have to root for a team that is in your hometown? Anyone born in Dallas doesn't have to root for the Cowboys, Mavs, or Stars if they don't want to. Again, I don't get that type of thinking. I can understand you being prideful of where you are from but that is too close minded for me if he has to root for a local team. I root for whatever team I choose. Screw loyalty to your local team because you were born there. I love a sport more than the local team that plays that sport. Why? Because I have that right to. I like a lot of teams in a particular sport and I'll even like individual players that play their game on the highest level, which, of course, won't be on the hometown team most likely. So with your logic then people shouldn't watch any sporting event that doesn't have their local team competing. People should walk away from their TVs if the ESPN sportscenter are talking about other teams and athletes that aren't part of their hometown or born there. It sounds like the type of people that know nothing about the outside world, just their environment.
Sorry, I would never live like that.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I don't even need to support my answer that's how stupid this statement is.
I always try to play as other teams in Madden/NCAA...but I always end up playing as Ohio State and the Bengals. I can't even play as the Browns...I'm too die hard...
I go to Ohio State and I'm from Cincinnati, so that should answer questions. Even when I went to school in Indiana I didn't like the Colts.
that ones guy who i think got banned who used to post here, Osmo or something. I hated that guy.Bauers-Twin
He was more of a die hard Boston(including patriot) fan that was majorly biased and loved to gloat. (for which he actually had a reason too with his teams playing so well)
Replace Colts with Patriots and there you go. The truth is most people are like that now, it's hard to come by a true fan.UssjTrunks
Sorry but im a true fan
I live in New Jersey but I despise New Jersey sports teams. I'm 100% New York sports and always have been. Giants-Yankees-Rangers for life! DA_B0MB
i live in new jersey too and umm...the giants play in new jersey buddy, east rutherford.
Anyway i root for philly teams with the exception of basketball where i am a proud Memphis Grizzlies fan. OJ MAYO!
When it comes to college though i feel you can root for alot of teams cause chances are they will enevr paly each other. For instance, i like Oregon and Penn State for NCAA football.
NCAA basketball i usually pick some team thats good but isnt expected to win.
otherwise its Eagles, Flyers, Phillies.

Cowboys fans hated T.O. I mean he crushed the Cowboys and always added insult to injury. But now he's loved becuase, well he produces. I hated him and now I love him. Same with the one year Karl Malone played for the Lakers. He was probably the mosted hated player by Lakers fans. And all was forgotten as soon as he put on that purple and gold. But now that he's retired it's remembered again.[QUOTE="Solid_Link22"]my friend is a Manny ramirez hater but all of a sudden he is Manny FTW :|murlow12Dude, come on. Do we really have a choice? We dont have a choice but to root for him cause he's MANNY! duh! :P He's an all-star slugger and the first Dodger since Mike Piazza that pitchers will be afraid to pitch to.

It's rule 76 of football season. Every football season must be started with an arguement over bandwagoning. Preferrably with some insults of the Patriots thrown in. The year it doesn't happen, Brett Favre will retire.
