Coaching. Mike Brown is terrible at managing the game. Anything he brings Popovich is just gonna counter it and exploit it. Lebron runs this team not Mike Brown. Watch post game interviews. Mike Brown talks for about 15 minutes on how Lebron is the best player in the world. Like Tim Duncan said, It's gonna take a team to beat the Spurs. Lebron won't be able to do it by himself. LessThanMarcus
And in actuality, the best player in the world right now wears a silver and black jersey (sorry lebron fans, it's the truth. he needs to actually prove something before he can hold that distinction)

IMO Mike Brown is not a good coach he's just looking good because of LeBronze and actually he said it once that some of his plays are from Spurs plays w/c he learned from Pop...
Not to Duncan bash because he's a great player w/ great accomplishments. But he's not the player he was during those MVP years anymore. His numbers over the past couple years have been very pedestrianMikeE21286
That has more to do with him giving up a lot of his scoring responsibility to parker and ginobili than it does with his abilities diminishing. And that aside, you've gotta be kidding me if you think 20 points, 11 boards, and 2.5 blocks are "pedestrian" numbers.

You're right. He's not the player he was during those years. He looks even better than he did.Â
The biggest obstacle for the Cavs is Tony Parker. Everyone knows that keeping TP out of the lane is the key if you have any hope of beating the Spurs. You can't just collapse the lane on him because that frees up all of their 3 point shooters on the wing.Â
Larry Hughes can't guard him , especially when he is a step slow. Eric Snow is going to get burned. Their best bet is Daniel Gibson but is he going to be able to get the job done defensively ?
Â
The Cavs have a chance if they can rebound the ball cleanly with good position and strength, and stay out of foul trouble. They also need to be consistent with the scoring from Gibson, Hughes, Gooden, and LeBron. They need some serious Team Defense to try to disrupt Duncan with double teams and have awareness for the 3 point shooters for the Spurs.Â
The Spurs will win if they take the Cavs seriously. Detroit didn't take the Cavs seriously and look what happened. They got eliminated. The Spurs have an edge because they are well rested after wiping out the Jazz. It's a given that Tony Parker and Ginobli will have a field day driving to the hoop. Now that I think about it, the Spurs have so many weapons on offense that they should win it all.
Guarding Tim Duncan. The Cavs don't have an answer for him.helium_flash
Duncan isn't that good against both Gooden and Z, the Cavs matchup well against the Spurs, they already beat them twice this year, and with LeBron having learned to step up his agression in the Play-offs and beeing very clutch against the Pistons, he could very well tear the Spurs apart, all the Cavs need is 1 other player to step up in every game, if they can manage that the Spurs look very vulnerable.

I've said this a million times already about regular season games: The Nuggets, Jazz, and Suns all beat the Spurs twice during the regular season, and where are they now?

The Nuggets beat themselves against the Spurs, if coach Karl can get any dicipline in to that team, they'll beat the Spurs hands down.
The Suns, they lost through some controversial rule enforcement(which wasn't always enforced with the same vigilance, see Knicks @ Bulls, Nate Robinson storms of the bench past half court, claiming the Bulls are driving up the score, and doesn't get suspended), all season they suspended guys for moves like Bowen's knee in Nash's groin suddenly they don't, so the Spurs got past the Suns because of David Stern, not because they performed well.
The Jazz are a young team, who just wheren't ready to take on a title contender.
The Cavs will have less respect for the Spurs than any of these other teams, against the Pistons they've proved to be capable of matching the oldschool physical(sometimes plain old dirty) D the Spurs are using, LeBron has never played more aggressive, and has never been more clutch then he is now, so the Cavs are the first real title contender the Spurs are gonna have to beat on their own merit.
People fail to forget that the playoffs is just another level of play. Regular season means nothing. Look what happened to the Mavericks. They had the best record in the league so everyone jumped on their bandwagon saying they will win the championship. Newsflash!!! They were knocked out of the first round! Regular season meetings and sometimes stats are meaningless. The playoffs is like the season started all over with just the elite teams.

You have been riding the Cavs far too long now, you talk nonsense and insanity. I hope to see you in these forums when the Cavs get creamed.Â

Spurs fanboy :(Â
tim duncan isnt that good anymore....lebron is great... but...the cavs cant even do crap......yellosnolvr
Yep, 24 points, 13 rebounds, 5 blocks. He's "not that good anymore", is he? The best player in the league still wears a silver and black jersey.
I say the biggest obsacle for the cavs is if the cavs supporting group doesnt provide(Gibson,Z.Hughes etc.) if they dont provide with outsided shooting and rebounds how is James gonna be able to carry them 40-60 points wont win a game!Thats just my opinion and i am a cavs fan, i dont see them beating the spurs how hard it is for me to say that but the spurs are to well rounded:cry: GO CAVS!BaseballDude69
Yeah well I'm glad to hear some realistic thinking. I remember back when the spurs were playing the knicks in the finals in 99, before the series you'd hear "knicks in 4!" from knicks fans, then after they lost game 1 the same dillusional fans were like "knicks in 5!", then after losing game 4 and being down 3-1 they were like "knicks in 7!". I swear, new york has some some the most idiotic, dillusional fans in the world.
