It happens in every sport. Because of the Divisions. Happens every year. NL West, NBA Eastern division. NFC West, etc etc.

''NL West" The Rockies won the National League the season before last and the Dodgers made it to the LCS.

Okay? Look at the years before that. Im not saying it happens every year, just saying usually the NL West isnt as good.

It doesn't matter that they might be the worst playoff team ever, but looking at the divisional system, which is a great system by it giving more teams a greater chance at reaching the playoffs, it will happen. The only thing I would change to the system would be to include an 8-team playoff format instead of 6. That way the other teams with great records could get in and no one would cry foul.

They did there job and got in fair and square......They turned it off as soon as they clinched the playoff spot They were competitive in there games with the Giants, Redskins, etc then they got routed and just threw in the towel against New England.....thats what ticks me off...they have talent and can be good...but seriousaly atleast show up to play

Thank you for defending my division good sir :) I don't care, my bandwagon brother and his Patriots are out of the playoffs once the Dolphins take care of business, with 11 wins

I don't think the Cardinals should be in the playoffs. No way in hell the Broncos or Chargers should either. But everyone will forget about it after they get eliminated first round. No big deal

I think it's a bit silly. The NFL does love it's parity, so they would probably like no team to win more than 9 games a season to keep everybody close

Meh to both Western conferences, especially if the winners end up 8-8

I suppose they deserve it. They did beat the other three teams. I hope they enjoy it though, once we get rid of Holmgren, we will be back as NFC West champs.

I believe that the cardinals playoff spot should go to the saints. They play much harder and are much more deserving of that spot. As a panthers fan, I also support the bucs claming the 6 seed in the NFC and atlanta taking the 5 seed. This way, with all 4 NFC south teams in the playoffs there can be no denying at how tough our division actually is.

On a more serious note though, I think the Cardinals are embarassing and honestly it seems every year that only one NFC west team is good and the rest of them are garbage. Arizona wrapped up the division in what October?

I live on the east coast and nothing gets my blood boiling quite as much when an NFC East fan (whether it be a redskins, cowboys, eagles, or giants fan), starts talking all of this garbage about how the NFC east is superior. Let me think about this... The cowboys haven't won a playoff game in 12 years, the redskins have been the same old story since 1991, they start off hot and finish terrible and usually miss the playoffs, the eagles are one of the few teams to go to a championship game 3 years in a row (2 at home) and lose them all, and the giants are located in a city that has so many distractions, that they can't be good for a long time consistently.

I hate the NFC East!!!

I don't think Denver should be there either. I want a true playoff contest, not having 2-3 gimme wins.

6-0 in the division, 3-7 otherwise. They're not good enough for the playoffs, but that's what happens every year with weak divisions. It's the same with the Chargers/Broncos.

the 49ers are the best team in the west and would put up a better fight against anyone, even if youd think they would lose anyway.
