302 yards and averaging 2.8 a carry after 7 games? I haven't watched any Titans games this year so I can't really blame him or the oline...but those are just brutal numbers for the guy people are/were saying was better than AP. Perhaps $53.5m/4 years made him not care anymore?

Thoughts/opinions?

I say if he doesn't pick up the paste this season trade him, get a good draft pick, draft a RB or try to get Forte if the Bears are idiotic enough not to pay him

Trading him will be nigh-impossible unless he chooses to restructure his contract. No one will pay that kind of money and trade good draft picks for a Running back that is on pace for LESS yards than a QB.

Chris Johnson has singled handedly screwed both my FF teams! He's just an out of shape, overpaid mediocre RB right now. J.Ringer looks better! He'll turn it on once everyone that owns him is out of it.

Eh, there might be a team out there. Like the Phins, or maybe the Cardinals. However, the Titans really screwed themselves over with this.

I doubt a team will trade for him. As for what's wrong it could be multiple things. He may just be simply unmotivated after getting his money, the lack of training camp might have hurt him, or he might have just lost a step. I know he's only 26, but he's also like what? 180 pounds. Plus he also has more rushing attempts the past 2 years than anyone. That wear and tear can really take a toll.

Pretty spot on. It's easy to say he has the "I got paid, I don't give a **** anymore attitude" but he might really be done. There are plenty of running backs who dominate for a couple seasons then just disappear..could just be a new version of Larry Johnson.

2 obvious things. Johnson's conditioning is terrible. He didn't stay in playing shape during the holdout. The other thing is the O line doesn't open the huge holes for him like it used to anymore. Both issues = CJ SUCKING!!!

That huge contract will prevent most teams from even considering a trade for him.

Laughing now at when there was supposedly a legitimate debate on who was a better RB: AP or CJ. Pretty clear now who the winner is.

Chris Johnson is done. He sucked against the worst run defense in the NFL.

You cant even trade him since his trade value is sooooooo low. I am very happy that i didnt draft him. Ray Rice is my #1 back and he has lead my team to a 7-1 record in a 12 team league.

Watching him play the Steelers in person: he looked like he was phoning it in.

Heard some analyst say the ither day they think part of it is heś not accepting short gains, he's always trying to turn average plays into 20 yarders. Combine that with the line possibly not opening up holes, and he does have a chance to rebound if he addresses his problem.

1. No team is going to trade for him a. why would they? b. trades are very difficult with big, new contracts. the titans can't afford to trade him: -a signing bonus is prorated over the life of the contract against the cap. for example, a 6 year deal with an 18 million dollar signing bonus = 3 mil per year against the cap in addition to the actual salary earned that year -the problem is that if you trade someone, ALL of the remaining prorated bonus counts on that year's cap...CJ only has 1 accrued year on the deal. That means all the rest of the prorated bonus would count against the Titans cap. THEY, QUITE LITERALLY, CAN'T AFFORD TO TRADE OR CUT HIM...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 2. I don't know why anyone is surprised. a. all RB's fall off a cliff at some point b. this is especially true after a 2k yard season (usually within 1 to 2 years)...check previous players for backup c. most (not all) RB's fall off a cliff after their big pay day (LJ, Shaun Alexabder, etc). RB is about desire and willingness to take hits. 3. Combine the above points with the devaluing of the RB position (been more than a decade since a great back in their prime won the SB) and no RB is worth a big contract.

They need to just cut him or trade him away for anything they can get for him. Johnson is worthless, he seems to have no drive.

I wonder if it is just him not performing or the fact that their O-line is not blocking like they did. I think I heard something on NFL Gameday about whether or not he took them out after he got his huge deal and the answer might have been no. Not a reason to not perform, but if your O-line doesn't block, then as a RB, how can you get any yardage? That team is going nowhere fast anyway.

He had a monster year. But since then, his numbers have been dropping. Even if he didnt hold out, I doubt he would be posting great numbers to warrant his kind of money.

You betcha...

To stay on topic, Chris Johnson as a running back always had one major flaw. He never ran up the middle or could get many yards after contact. Find a way to get rid of his speed, and he is no long effective. If he fails to maintain his proper conditioning or receieves an injury that takes his speed away, he is done. Well at least for his sake, he got paid.

Maybe he misses Vince Young...as crazy as it sounds (numbers per ESPN radio this morning):
With VY
19 games, 120 yds per game, 20 td's, 24 carries per game

Without VY
35 games, 75 yds per game, 15 td's, 16.5 carries per game

So with VY he ran it more and more effectively
...perhaps the threat of VY's legs were more beneficial than previously thought (VY did 'win' despite his terrible passing numbers)

Yeah, if he was running like a man instead of a child, I'd probably be undefeated in fantasy. I'm 6-2 though mainly because I picked up Matthew Stafford a couple rounds late after I got Calvin Johnson, and also because Wes Welker is an absolute animal. I should be a scout.

He was my first round pick. He hurt me big time in a matchups that I need him to run well. I traded him when I got the chance.

It only took until week 10 for CJ to show up. Hot #1 pick!
