I posted this in the CP3 thread already. I wasn't sure if making another thread was necessary because the mods locked another CP3 related thread since there's already a big thread on it already.

Chris Paul comes out of meeting with positive outlook for Hornets

"It was great to get an opportunity to sit down with Coach Williams, President Weber and our new General Manager Dell Demps. I expressed my desire to win and I like what they said about the direction that they want to take the team. I have been a Hornet my entire career and I hope to represent the city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana for many years to come."

I'm not sure how they could convince him. The team has terrible contracts and barely any trade assets. If they are going to convince him, then they have about a year to do it.

I think all these trade rumors will start heating up again by December/January, if the Hornets aren't playing well.

And if they're serious about becoming championship contenders, they can probably get good value for Darren Collison and Marcus Thornton. Trading Peja would also be an option, because of his huge expiring contract.

Honestly not sure if i'm a fan of this. I mean what's better? Having Chris Paul play with for a medicore non-contender? Or having him get traded to make another team a contender?

They had to MEGA lie to him

"Know Jesus Christ? Oh yeah he's signed till 2021 so you're going to stay right?"

"And Santa Claus, he's also singed until 2016"

"Also we've developed a serum to restore youth to players, we are in the process of giving it to Karl Malone, Michael Jordan, and Bill Russel and they all said they're signing with the Hornets"

It looks like Paul's statement was a smokescreen: http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/13671341/after-hornets-meeting-paul-still-seeking-way-out

I'd still like to see him traded to Orlando.

Yeah... don't buy into any of this meeting went well BS. He still wants out. But the Hornets will move him on their terms not his. They probably told him to stick that wish list of teams he wants to play for where the sun don't shine. He has 2 years left on his contract and doesn't have a no trade clause. If the Hornets get what they feel is the best offer from the Bucks... that's where they are trading him.

And did you know you can't turn around and trade a guy you just got in a trade for 60 days? For instance the Knicks might still be in the mix to get C.Paul in a trade... but perhaps the Hornets want a package that includes Randolph and the deal can't be made until the 60 days pass. Just some some food for thought... or torture for Knicks fans! :P

That restriction only applies to teams over the cap. The Knicks are under the cap. :)
