Whats up with Clevland playing Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond at the end of the first half in game 1. Seriously everyone knows that song is the Red Sox Anthem. I'm ENRAGED! Not really but I thought it was funny. Everyone seems to be playing that song now. ITS OURS! LEAVE IT BE!

For those who don't know it is a tradition at Fenway to play Sweet Caroline in the 8th inning and EVERYONE sings it. Litterally, everyone.

The New York Rangers play it at the end of their games also.

Not to mention we were the first US Hockey team to use the Fan salute at Center Ice, which we stole from the Russian League.

Yes but its a Red Sox tradition. I don't think other teams should be copying it. They don't even sing along with it. You go to fenway and litterally EVERY FAN is singing along (or attempting to since they probably are messing up the lyrics).

That article seems to indicate that the person who chose to play that song at Red Sox did so because they heard it at other sporting events.

Sounds like the Red Sox stole it...

Well ofcourse all songs have been played at one time or another at another event. My point is that it has become the red sox tradition and is widely known to be the red sox anthem. This was a semi joke thread anyways. I've heard on ESPN a few times that other teams have been trying to find their own "Sweet Caroline" type song like the Red Sox that the fans will embrace. Still I have yet to hear of a song more embraces by the fans then this one.

I once heard "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" outside of a Cubs game. I am outraged.

Well Im a Yankee fan...and I HATE the redsox and their fans (I live in Boston)...but yeah I agree no other baseball team at least should take that song.

If the Mets took "New York, New York" by Frank Sinatra it would be the same thing...find your own damn theme song

Had no idea that song was the Red Soxs anthem. What does Sweet Caroline have to do with them? Is there a mention of Boston in there?

It's really only a movie for red sox fans and New York fans who hate us and want to laugh at how retarded we can be.

....If you get a tradition from a dumb movie like Fever Pitch, I think you need to check yourself.

Not to mention Sweet Caroline is the most annoying song known to man, and I've thought that even before it became the anthem for "Red Sox Nation"....don't even get me started on that.

Did you even bother reading the history of the song at fenway via the link in the first post? Or did you just decide to start flaming the sox with no facts? The song does suck I admit it, it is onyl a good song when im in fenway singing it with thousands of my fellow fans. But you need to read more before you post.
