He's washed up and over the hill past his prime. It's all marketing hype. That seemingly isent even going that well. His welcome with open arms though by the league and sponser has not exactly been as wrming as they would of thought.

No one gives a dam about him. Now his wife POSH. Yummy i think people try to check her out more them him at this point.

Wow... you say he's a complete flop when he hasn't even been able to play much at all and you say he is washed up even though his old team wanted him to STAY!!! Oh, but he is washed up though... Seriously, get over yourself.

He's not here to make the MLS a top notch league, he's here to spread the word about soccer in the US.

If you think Beckham is washed up and over the hill then you know nothing about Football(soccer). He's still the best passer in the game. He doesn't have flashy dribbling skills but his passing and playmaking ability is still on top, and no one is better than him crossing the ball from the wing and set pieces.

If not for Beckham, England would not make it to 2nd round of World Cup 2006.

I do believe Beckham is past his prime. But i also think he will be one of the best players in the MLS.

I hope other people agree with me when i say that Beckham is only playing for LA Galaxy for the money. If he really cared about his football which he claims that is the reson he moved he would of moved back to England, playing FOOTBALL not SOCCER.

People pay to see beckham play and show what he has, hopefully hes healthy to play or its just bull to hype even more, but americans want to see beckham play already, but he hasnt played, only those some min against chelsea, but as of now he hasnt done nothing, welcome beckham to america, were people like you get paid to do nada..Cuahtemoc(second highest paid player in MLS)from the Fire is doing better things than him..just a side note

I dunno how many of you guys watched the debut of Beckham in that LA Galaxy vs. Chelsea game, but when Bonnie Bernstein intereview Jennifer Love Hewitt it sickened me to listen to all the BS that she was blabbing about OMG I LOOOVE SOCCER. I think she was secretly asking Beckham to marry her or something. The good thing about the game was the fact that David Beckham's wife and Eva Longoria side by side talking to each othe oooo yea. ;)

This much is clear: players who get $250 mil to not play are NOT flops.

Yeah, he's pretty washed up. I've thought so ever since he puked on the field against Portugal in the Euro Cup. Still great for an MLS player though.

he's definitely past his prime, but not a flop. he's more of a marketing tool now. beckham can still play, but he's lost a step or two. but let's face it, he's not going to save soccer in the US. Our top athletes in our country are not going into socccer and until that trend continues, US soccer will not be great nor will it be able to compete with our other sports.

You cant call him a flop before he has even played a competitive game at least wait til he has recovered from his injury before judging him.

He's played plenty of games already outside the MLS, and it's plain to see he's a flop. He might shine here, but that's because he's not really going up against real competition.

He didnt have the best of seasons last year at Madrid but since February his performances had picked up again and he was playing well for Madrid helping them to the La Liga title thats why there was all the talk of him regretting signing his contract and why Madrid wanted him to get out of the LA Galaxy deal.

I suspect that the op doesn't watch soccer as well or else it wouldn't be speaking out of its arse. To be quite honest give the guy a chance if you are already a fan of mls or soccer in general then the hype surrounding him shouldn't faze you. In the end him being here is brining attention, money and the prospect of future stars ending their career in the mls. Imagine seeing Ronaldo in three years time.
