Don't forget your new Barrry Sanders type RB in Best! One of their best draft picks in years next to choosing Calvin Johnson was getting Javhid Best. If you didn't get a chance to see him at Cal, you're going to love seeing him now. Unlike Reggie Bush Best can run inside or outside and has the speed and agility to get by a lot of defenders. I'll be surprised if he doesn't win ROTYandyboiiiROTY? Doubt it. Ryan Mathews is the most complete back in the draft and a much better bet for ROTY than Best, especially considering he's not sharing the backfield with someone like Kevin Smith who can carry a full load. In any case, the Lions are still the doormat of the NFL. I think it's funny how people are excited about this team. They're not a good team. They won TWO games last year. TWO. They've won 2 games in the last 2 years. They're 2-30. And the only teams they beat are the Redskins and the Browns. I mean c'mon. The ONLY bright spot this team has is Calvin Johnson. And you have to give props to this guy for doing what he did without a QB and without any support. They even lost to the other doormat of the NFL, the Rams. Their defense is garbage, without a single player of talent (other than Suh, and we'll see how good he does). Their offense has no identity. One game they come out throwing and failing. The next they come out running and failing. I mean, there is no way this team is getting anything close to .500. I'd be surprised if they got more wins then they did last year. Terrible organization, terrible team.

Best is quicker, faster and has better agility and can run inside just as well as he does outside

Best is quicker, faster and has better agility and can run inside just as well as he does outside Well that's the issue. I really don't think he CAN carry a full workload. He's a small running back and will be playing behind a bad offensive line. He hasn't carried the ball more than 200 times in a single season in college and his durability will more than likely be a factor. He played for Cali, who aren't known for producing NFL runningbacks. In fact, I believe the best rusher Cal ever had was J.J. Arrington. Pretty sure he broke 2000 rushing yards and is pretty much a nobody now. So I have my doubts about Jahvid Best.
The Lions might be better this year but they will not be making it to the Super Bowl.MysteriousNacht
YA they got awhile before the superbowl comes into place.
maybe if they made better picks when fist started sucking andgetting top picks every yr they'd be goingbut not as is lol
altho calvin johnson is abeast
Dont think so. Sorry to rain on your parade dude. You guys play in a tough division with the VIkes and Pack. I also expect Cutler to play alot better then he did last year. I give the Lions about 6 wins this year. Which is good considering what they were two years ago.we goin to tha superbowl this year, go ahead flame me.........

Hey now... I'm really excited for this season also, but we're not that good yet. We're on the move though. Our offense looks really good but as always, the offensive line bothers me. Defensively... I don't know. We lack depth at all 3 levels. I love our defensive line with Ndamukong Suh, Corey Williams, Kyle Vanden Bosch and Cliff Avril. We got some exciting young linebackers in Deandre Levy and Zach Follet, and a pro bowler in Julian Peterson. The defensive backfield on the other hand is god awful. Louis Delmas is a monster but he can only do so much from the free safety position.
I'm calling 6 wins this season.
I'm a die hard Lions fan. I am very very optimistic that they are moving in the right direction. Schwartz is a great coach IMO. However, the past management was SOOOOOO bad that it is going to take a few years to restock the cupboards with depth. They're starters are getting better but if one injury happens, there is no depth. They're secondary is likely going to be league worst.
That being said, I predict 5 wins this year which is bad, but considering how bad they've been, I;ll settle for that. I expect a possible .500 season next year if they continue to fill needs. In 3 years, if they aren't competing for a playoff spot I'll be PISSED.

The Lions will still have a losing record because of their defense this year, BUT, I can't help but feel the Lions in about four to five years will be something scary. They're just mounting up those high draft picks and have been making the right selections (though it's a lot easier for them when they're always #1 or #2 lol). This past draft you can see they're getting that Dgoing with Suh, who I expect fully to be a star in the NFL. They need time. I'd actually enjoy seeing them win it would be such an underdog story.
