I play sports games because it's fun to take my favorite team and make them into a dynasty, or at least respectability if they aren't so good in real life (Blackhawks, Northwestern football).

No I play sports games because they are fun as hell. Fifa 06 is a great game and just so you don't doubt my soccer skillzzzz I'll let you know I got a hat trick at my game on sunday. :P

lol, what a dumb question. Most likely somebody who sucks at sports, or doesn't have the knowledge about sports wouldn't want to play the games, even though at times that's not the case. Some people who are bad at sports play the games to understand the sport better, so that they can play the sport better in real life. I play sports games because I'm good at sports, and I like the games as well.

I rarely play sports games. My main enjoyment in football is trying to make the opposition feel pain which cant happen in a videogame. Ditto for hockey.
it doesnt really matter how good you are at a sport to make you want to play the game, i was never good at hockey but its one of my favorite sports to watch and play
While I am not great at most sports, that is not why I play sports games, I play them because I enjoy them. That would be like saying you are horrible at target shooting in real life so you play FPS's to compensate. Most people play the types of games they do for they obvious reason, they are fun.
No, I play because it adds somewhat of a realistic and overall fun experience. Plus, I play High School Baseball and I think that Baseball games have somewhat helped with my hand-eye coordination. Call me crazy but I even read in a magazine that playing sports games can help out in some areas.
Yeah, I play a lot of different sports like softball, basketball, football, hockey, etc. I love sports more than games but the next best thing is playing a sports video game if I can't get my buddies to do something. I'm good at both so... yeah...
No, I play them for the dynasty modes. I'm not good at basketball, but even if I was, I still couldn't take a LeBron/Wade/Yao-led Atlanta Hawks to 5 consecutive championships :)
