Avs!hockey73Matt Duchene was amazing last night. I think he's gonna be better than Tavares (sorry Islander fans).
[QUOTE="hockey73"]Avs!InterpolWilcoMatt Duchene was amazing last night. I think he's gonna be better than Tavares (sorry Islander fans). I hope so! Avs need all their young guys to step it up. Anderson looked great as well. Only 1 game, but I'm still excited about this season. Our center positions would be set if Duchene comes though, with him and Stastny.
San Jose Sharks. Another long season until the playoffs start again, but that's okay because hockey is back! :) They put up a TERRIBLE effort defensively yesterday, but it's just one game. I'm really not confident about the current pairs for defensemen though.
I don't have a favorite team. I really wish Seattle would get a franchise. We have the WHL, but an NHL team would be really cool.monkeytoes61
Well the problem with Seattle is it could very well be a successful franchise. It makes much more sense to go to Kansas City: they're already a proven failure.
Anyway I really don't have a favourite team, but I'm looking forward to watching the Leafs this season. Gotta love a little truculence, plus Viktor Stalberg looks like a stud. If the Leafs had an true #1 centre (hell, if the Leafs had an true #2 centre) he'd have a shot at the Calder.

Ya, the NHL would rather put a team where its been failure or has failed before (*cough Phoenix cough*). I don't understand why he wants to go to Kansas City or Las Vegas or some team in Florida than Seattle or Hamilton or Winnipeg.
About Stalberg, he looks amazing. Wilson called him the best player against Montreal the other night. He was fast, he can score. Everyone has high hopes about him. And don't forget about Kessel, he might not score as much though because he doesn't have a guy passing him the puck like Marc Savard was in Boston. Plus Gustavsson should be fun to watch. I think it'll bea much better team to watch than last year. I could watch last year, they were so boring.
I'm not too optomistic about the Sharks this season...We ended last season horribly.SJ Sharks. Hopefully the upcoming game in Anaheim won't be a disaster like yesterday...

I'm not getting overly excited unless they play well down the stretch going into the playoffs. We were playing pretty terribly for like the last month of the regular season last year; they couldn't win a single game to secure the President's Trophy. This is our last best shot at winning the Cup with this team. If we fail early in the playoffs again, Doug Wilson is gone and franchise players will not be coming back.

It'd be nice if Joe Thornton would put up numbers in the playoffs like he does in the regular season.

You guys have to win now, because the Flyers are in deep you know what in the future in terms of the salary cap.
Umm, did you see who they added on D lately? They brought in Francois Beauchemin from the Ducks, Garnet Exelby from the Thrashers, and Mike Komisarik from the Habs...
Los9090
...Who have all been terrible so far. Beauchemin has been their worst defender by far, Exelby was a healthy scratch on Saturday, and Komisarek spends more time in the box than on the ice.

They'll shape up, the goalie situation isn't that great really.
Canadiens.
Well when you live in Quebec the Canadiens are pretty much a religion, and I'm NOT kidding. There's actually a class about the team in the faculty of theology in one Montreal's university.
I don't live in Montreal, but in Quebec City it's pretty much the same since we lost our team about 14 years ago, although there are some hardcore nuts who will hate the Canadiens (because of the obvious rivalry) no matter what.
Outside Quebec, I love the frenzied Capitals' offense. They score like 24213 goals per game.
