Is Pro Evolution Soccer a better footballgame then the latest FIFA games?

I usually play PES, because it has been the most realistic footballgame so far, but i played FIFA 08 last week and I imagine this one also has been more realistic.

Still I scored a goal that really wasnt possible, on the replay you see the goalscorer moves very unnatural. Else it seems like a good footballgame, but I´m not sure. My opinion is still that EA-sports got their credibility in graphic for the players look.

This is tough, I'd say PES had FIFA beat up until the newest EURO Cup game. Now I'd say it's about a tie. If all you're looking for is great gameplay, as Euro 2008 doesn't have a ton of game modes, then it's a great buy, and gives PES a run for its money.

Which version are we talking?

The Wii version of PES2008 is the best soccer/football game made in years.

I have both and enjoy both, but I have to give Winning Eleven/Pro Evolution the upper hand. It does many things better than FIFA, IMO. For instance, the crowd sounds are better, like when I'm playing in a Korean stadium, the crowd chants in Korean. It's little touches like these that make it so much more fun. I don't remember FIFA having things like this.

Also, the gameplay feels more real. The animation looks more realistic, the atmosphere feels better, and the pacing feels more like a soccer game. I just think the whole feel of Winning Eleven is better.

FIFA is good and has caught up, but I still think Konami's series is the best soccer game. The only reason Pro Evo Soccer 2008 got bad scores is that the graphical upgrades showed no significance to its previous one. But hopefully that'll change with PES 2009.

I think that fifa out surpasses pes on every scale, graphically and in its gameplay. Also the manager mode is better.

I think that FIFA passed PES in the 2008 edition. I actually believe PES 2008 was a significant set back to a once great series. It is not even possible to say that PES has the best gameplay any more. It would be hard for anyone to find a review that has rated PES 2009 higher than Fifa 09. I think that the last gen was holding up EA's progress with the series. On next gen EA has really been able to innovate with Be a Pro which can allow up to 10 a side multiplayer. Konami is struggling to keep up. They tried to get an edge over FIFA 09 with the Champions league license but they still did not have all the teams fully licensed.
